After 1 year Sicily, Italy The ambience of the room was tense with people exchanging their glances at each other. "I fucking do bother about it. I want the exact trace of that bastard who had dared to cross our border to steal the shipment." The owner of the voice was female but the tone and the rage was enough to make almost everyone gulp down their own saliva. "We are...” One man tried to speak but he was cut off. "Yes you are? Do you think you can survive after betraying us? The new rising gang asked for your help and I bet you did a bit, right?" "By mistake we did without knowing the real motive of them. We have revoked our support now." "Great, now you tell me. What should be your punishment for making such a massive mistake?" "I.... We ...can take the vow... We didn't know about the situation before." The man was tottering badly while sweating like a pig. This time Myra leaned towards the man and kept her revolver on his temple and hissed near his ears. "You know what... I hate traitors. More precisely, I hate those who can't speak properly. Before I put my sweet revolver in your mouth, you better start speaking out about everything." Arthur was looking at Myra with pride and shock both in his eyes. She is truly Minerva's daughter. The same voice, same cold tone and same fierce attitude. Nicolas was looking at Myra with wide eyes. No matter what, he always had an eye on her. Being the Russian Mafia he could actually see her as her best competitor. "Seems like someone is in a foul mood." Nicolas teased Myra and immediately he earned an epic reply. "Enough foul to snap someone's head without any prior intimation." "Oops. I can see the lioness is back in the field." Nicolas spoke, showing a fake scared face. "Forget about coming back, she had never left either" Myra replied back. "Dismissed" As soon as she spoke a lot of people left a huge sigh of relief. As soon as the room became empty Nicolas came towards Arthur and Myra. "Look, I am sure, Xavier is in Sweden. He is trying to operate from Norway too. There is a high chance he is trying to rebuild the Irish Mafia group. But this time he would not be in alliance." "He is fucking behind of claiming our territory." Myra completed the unfinished information of Nicolas. "Absolutely. And we have to be careful." Arthur spoke. Myra, Arthur and Nicolas discussed further plans and after some time Nicolas left for his hometown. "You are quite fast in learning and dealing with such Mafia stuff." Arthur couldn't help but praise his sister. "It runs in our blood after all." "Are you still mad at me? For bringing you back here forcefully?" "Previously yes, but not now. The situation is not at all suitable I can see. And how can I just turn my back on my own life, my own empire?" "But you got too much involved in it. Is that because of the divorce paper that they had sent from India?" "No. The divorce has the same value as my marriage. Zero. I was never married legally there so let's just not talk about that." Myra suppressed the rest of her emotions and statements. "I am sorry." "Why so?" "I did threaten them to cut down all ties with you. The day I brought you here, I met Sekhawats. I manipulated the home ministry to put pressure on them for their mistake of keeping you there." "I was there by my choice. Anyway you are telling me this after one damn year that you had threatened them? What the hell Arthur?" "I thought breaking the ties would make you stay back here with us safe and sound." "I can protect myself. Coming back to the divorce matter even if you had threatened them, still I believe until Ranvijay decides something, no one can take any steps. So it was purely his decision I can see. So, I believe your threat was not the sole reason behind the divorce." Finishing off the entire matter Myra left the place and came to her room. It's been one damn year neither she had talked to Ranvijay nor he did call her back. The day those divorce papers arrived Myra sat silently in her room. It's been 9 months since those papers were kept inside her drawer. She didn't get the courage to have a glance once more. It was already signed by Ranvjiay. The same man who made her believe that this marriage was for life. She was the one who thought to leave this marriage at any time and now she is the one who has kept the papers unsigned inside the closet. During her initial days it was hard for her to cope with the sudden emptiness. She used to stay inside the room without eating or sleeping. Mostly she used to look blankly at the ceiling. After a month or so she decided to join Arthur in his work to make herself busy enough to keep away her broken heart. Since then they both exhaled in business like anything. Legal or illegal both the areas were taken care of by them like a perfect duo. The most sensible Myra became the most ruthless Italian Mafia within a year. Sometimes she used to look at her reflection in the mirror. "Is this the same girl who hated violence once upon a time?" The answer is yes. "You were always like this only. It was just you never realised that. You had just kept yourself hidden under a fake cover of a sophisticated girl." Myra's reflection spoke back to her. It was true. How could her DNA just betray her? It was always there in her. Yes, she was mad at Arthur knowing that he had threatened them. Myra got to know that Arthur manipulated the foreign ministry to put pressure on Rajendra via home ministry. But till now she hasn't heard any news of Shaurya Agnihotri. He involved those Indonesian Mafia to finish off the Sekhawat brothers and to make them work clearly he abducted Myra. But since she was rescued she hadn't got further information about Shaurya. After getting freshen up Myra moved towards the study of Arthur to discuss something. Knocking at his door she moved inside and sat on the chair. Arthur raised his head to see his sister who was having a big question mark on her face. "Do you have any idea about Shaurya Agnihotri?" Myra directly asked him without giving any prior hint of other stuff. "Not exactly. Heard that the bastard fled away from India after he failed to kill your ex-husband." The taunt in Arthur's voice was clear. Ignoring the fact she continued, "I want to finish him off. You don't know what sort of jerk he is." "Let's not dirty our hands by killing such bullshit. Anyhow, I had already taken an abrupt step with Indonesian Mafia during your stay in India. Currently I am more focused on Xavier. I request you to hold on for some time. I can't put you in danger right now by allowing you to deal with that Indonesian group." "Stop being so possessive all the time. I can take care of myself." "I know." As Arthur finished the discussion Myra stood up to leave. "Do you still love him?" A sudden question from Arthur stopped Myra on her track. "What?" "I expect a Yes Or No." "Why do you bother?" "Because you are my sister and you shouldn't be heartbroken. You have to marry one day to walk further in your life." "Do you care if I am heartbroken already?" Myra snapped her head towards Arthur. "Come here." Arthur called Myra close to his desk once more. As Myra followed the command Arthur stood up from the chair and hugged her tightly while ruffling her hair like old school days. "I know I am an asshole when it comes down to your safety. Let me tell you something." Saying that Arthur made her sit beside him on the couch. "Have you seen any scar on your mom's body?" "Yes a lot." "Some were because of me. Rather in order to save me." Myra's eyes got shocked hearing that. Before she could process further Arthur told her a small story. "You weren't born at that time when I was attacked by our rivals. My mother and I were in the car which your mother was driving. A group of people started chasing us and opened the fire. I was barely four years old. My mom was scared like a shit. She was a normal lady not a don like Aunt Minerva. My dad was called to send the backup. Before it arrived, the situation took ugly turn and my aunt did her best to save us. When it came down to hand to hand combat she was beaten badly but didn't leave a single chance to kill them too. Two bullets were fired towards us and it was no one but Aunt Minerva who dodged the first one but got the second one while saving me. I saw her bleeding from her shoulder badly but she held her head high to push me to the other end with my mom. That's how I owe my life to her. Years later when she was diagnosed with cancer I used to sneak in her cabin during her sleep time to sit for hours. One day she caught me red handed. I was about to run when she called me and made me sit for a talk. She asked for two promises from me. "Let Myra leave a normal life and try to keep her away from this dark world." "Protect her at any cost and if the situation gets worse let her choose between these two worlds. Tell her what her real identity is." Since then I have become more concerned for you. I know our family is a fucked up family with the long bloodshed game. Yes we belong to a bloodline that has a darker past than the darkness of the sky. But what can be done? We were born with this and we would carry that till our death." As soon as Arthur stopped Myra felt really bad in her heart. Arthur could have forgotten his promise to her dead mother. He had every chance to ignore her, disown her or throw her from the business. Her mother left them all long back but everyone of this family remembered their responsibilities towards her. No one hated her. Her mother kept her away from them but they never left her side. Like a shadow she was followed everywhere. It's true a mafia doesn't forget his or her vows. Arthur didn't think twice before standing against Indonesian Mafia or Indian Mafia for her sake. And all the time she was blaming him for bringing her back. But what could a brother do when he would be informed that his sister's life is in danger? Of course he wouldn't think twice before protecting her. But in this process her relationship got broken. She remembered Ranvijay's words. "If you would have been a descendent of the Mafia family you would have understood my situation. We do kill people not because of fun but also to protect our loved ones. Sometimes we choose a path and sometimes the path choses us." Now she is getting everything in her head properly. Yes her marriage broke but was that all worth keeping intact? Does that ever have any chance of survival? It was really prominent from the beginning. Two equal forces cannot stay together, they would surely repel each other. Both of their enmity would become the curse to each other. She was crying over her broken marriage but does Ranvijay deserve a dark girl like her? Absolutely not. He needs a clean wife to carry on the family's pride. Not a most feared Don's daughter or a Don itself. No matter how badly her heart shattered into pieces she might not be able to put them together again to start over a journey with Ranvijay. It would be better if she just signs the papers and ends this story as soon as possible. Myra's subconscious mind started a war within. "Can a piece of paper decide your future?" Myra's inner voice spoke. "Of course not but we can. At least I can decide my future." "What is that?" "A life away from him. A future not being with him." "Can you? Or will you?" "I have to. Because that's the best I can think of."
