So Eun wakes up later, when the sun is already high in the sky, and finds herself awake on the couch. It startles the actress because she had overslept on the floor and Hyuk Soo is sleeping on the couch. But when she wakes up, she can't find Hyuk Soo anywhere; it's just her in her room.
She looks around and notices a piece of paper with a message written on it on a nearby table. She is familiar with handwriting, Hyuk Soo is the one who writes down the message. She grabs the paper and carefully reads the message he left for her.
"I sincerely apologize for bothering you in this way, So Eun-ah... From now on, I will try to be more cautious around you so that I do not bother you or make you feel uncomfortable, and I apologize if I have crossed the line..." That was the note he left for her.
So Eun is trying to figure out what he means by that. It appears that Hyuk Soo is simply stating that he will put their past feelings and relationship behind them. He appears to want to forget all the burdens in his heart in order to act casually around her. He wishes to move on and completely forget about her.
The actress sighs deeply as she realizes what he means by the message. She shakily placed the paper back on the table. The image of Hyuk Soo telling her last night that he misses her is still fresh in her mind, but he has already changed his mind this morning.
"It's all right... It is better for us to be like this,,, It is better for us to be like this... It's all right. So Eun-ah "She tries to motivate herself.
Today's shooting is going better than yesterday's; Hyuk Soo and So Eun can finally convey the emotion that the producer desires in the scene. As a result, they can complete the filming process in Germany that day and return to Korea soon.
All of the actors and crews decide to take a short vacation in Korea before returning to Korea. They go window shopping and exploring nearby tourist attractions. So Eun is out looking for souvenirs for her parents and Junsu. She discovers a sporty yet elegant outdoor watch that might appeal to Junsu. She beams with delight at the thought of her boyfriend.
"Do you buying it for Junsu-ssi?" A deep masculine voice approaches her unexpectedly. When she turns around, Lee Hyuk Soo is already standing beside her, looking at the watch she's holding.
"Ah, he likes hiking, so I think he'll need this watch, there are so many fitures here that can help him with his activities..." So Eun explains why she chose that for Junsu's gift. Hyuk Soo maintains his smile while staring into her eyes.
"You appear to be cheerful; does he make you happy?" The top model and actor casually inquires. So Eun has to blink for a moment to comprehend his question. She never imagined that Hyuk Soo would ask about her current boyfriend so casually and without making her feel awkward. The atmosphere between them appears to be less tense now.
"He does, indeed." So Eun responds truthfully. When she thinks about Junsu, a happy smile appears on her face.
"That's great... That makes me very happy..." Hyuk Soo shifts his gaze to the souvenirs in front of him and begins to make his selection.
"I'm going to support you and him as long as you're happy with that," he says, without looking in her direction. Yes, it is time for him to let go of his steadily for the past feelings for her. It is preferable for him to support her in doing something that makes her happy rather than becoming a burden to the person he loves due to his unrequited feelings. So Eun is queit for a moment before flashing her smile again.
"Thank you very much, oppa..." she says gratefully. Perhaps they can start being friends from now on. Isn't it better this way?
They fly back to South Korea at noon the next day, arriving at Incheon International Airport late at night. So Eun immediately made a phone call to Junsu, who had promised to fetch her once she arrived in Korea, but it appears that Junsu is not reachable.
"So Eun-ssi... What should I do? My husband has already arrived to pick me up; would you like to join us? We will transport you home." Her manager approached So Eun and made a decision because she hadn't seen Junsu, who was supposed to fetch So Eun, yet.
"No, thank you... I don't want to disturb your reunion with your husband, Junsu probably going to be here anytime soon" So Eun politely declines it.
"That's correct... Then I'll accompany you while you wait for him "said the manager.
"No, it's fine... I know you're tired right now, but I'm fine... You are free to leave me here. Don't be concerned about me; your husband is waiting." So Eun continues to decline her offers because she understands that her manager, as a newlywed, must require a significant amount of time with her husband. However, due to the filming, she is separated for several days. She doesn't want to keep the couple apart any longer. She feels bad about it.
"Are you absolutely certain?" The manager is still hesitant to leave, but So Eun continues to press her. So, with a heavy heart, the manager returns home with her husband, leaving So Eun behind.
So Eun tries to contact Junsu again after her manager's departure, but she reaches a mailbox. As a result, she decides to take a taxi home because she is too tired to wait. Junsu might have another schedule that he can't leave now. As a result, she comprehends. So Eun was about to call a taxi when she heard a horn and noticed a car stopped in front of her. The car window is opened, revealing the driver.
"So Eun-ah, are you going home by yourself?" Hyuk Soo gets out of his car and approaches So Eun.
"Oh.. Yes, oppa. It appears that Junsu is now busy," she says casually.
"Then come with me; I'll drive you home." The actor offers his assistance."I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me," So Eun says, declining his offer.
"What are you saying... Let's go, don't keep pushing away someone who wants to help you" Hyuk Soo quickly takes So Eun's suitcase and places it on his luggage. He does not give So Eun a choice.
"Let's go," he says, opening the door for So Eun and inviting her to get into his car. She, too, does not want to bother him, but she has no other choice but to follow his decision. As a result, she got into his car and followed him. Hyuk Soo is overjoyed because the actress has finally agreed to let him drive her home. He can't take his eyes off his smile. It's been a long time.
"How are your parents doing?" He initiates a conversation by mentioning So Eun's family. The actress tells him about her family's current circumstances and how she now lives alone in an apartment. They keep talking about things in their lives that they hadn't known about each other for a year. It feels good to have a lengthy conversation like that again.
When they arrive at So Eun's apartment building, Hyuk Soo takes a look around and observes the surroundings for a while from the car.
"Thank you for the ride, oppa," So Eun says as she prepares to exit the car when the actor stops her. Hyuk Soo pulls something from the backseat before handing So Eun a decorated gift box.
"Happy birthday," he bizarrely says.
"What?" So Eun has no idea that today is her birthday, so when Hyuk Soo unexpectedly gives her a gift for her birthday, she is taken aback.
"Do you even forget about your own birthday?" The model and actor jokes with her. So Eun is speechless and staring blankly at the gift she received.
"Am I allowed to open it?" She inquires, intrigued. Hyuk Soo smiles and nods, indicating that she may open her present.
So Eun slowly opens the gift box and finds a lovely crystal necklace inside. A vintage 40's rolled gold stylised leaf necklace has rendered her speechless once more. It's so lovely; when did that man prepare such a lovely present for her?
"I remembered it was your birthday today, so while we were window shopping, I was looking for a suitable gift for you. I hope you enjoy it..." Hyuk Soo was looking at her with a proud expression on his face. He is overjoyed that he was able to find a lovely present for her birthday.
"Thank you for your consideration... But I think this is too much for you, oppa; I can't afford to accept this fantastic gift from you..." But So Eun is attempting to return the gift to him. In an instant, her response renders his smiles ineffective.
"What are you saying, just consider it a gift from a friend, the beginning of our friendship... Can't we just become friends?" He smiles again, attempting to persuade her of his genuine feelings. If he can't return to become her beloved, being a friend should work just fine.
"Accept it. So, Eun-ah, I don't want to throw it away "He continues. So Eun appears to be wondering and carefully considering it. She can no longer refuse him after seeing how genuine he is.
"Thank you very much, oppa... Okay, I'll take it as proof of our friendship "She eventually agrees. It makes Hyuk Soo smile and feel good on the inside.
They quickly part ways because it is getting late. So Eun waits for Hyuk Soo's car to leave before entering her apartment building. As she approaches the lift, she sighs heavily. She is exhausted from the journey. She really needs to rest as soon as possible.
When So Eun arrives at her apartment, she notices Junsu's apartment door. Her heart is torn because her boyfriend isn't there to celebrate her birthday. He is also unreachable, and she has no idea where he is. It's disappointing for her, and she wishes she could see him right now.
So Eun goes into her apartment. Nobody is inside, so it's dark. When she was putting on her shoes, she noticed a dim light approaching her. A soothing voice as calm as the night sky sings a birthday song for her. So Eun turns around to find her boyfriend, Junsu, singing her a birthday song and carrying a delicious cake towards her. Junsu appears more attractive than usual in the dim light of the candle that illuminates his face.
"What are you doing here?!" she is sulking, punching Junsu in the arm. She assumed she would be unable to see him on her birthday and went to bed without being able to contact him.
"I miss you" Instead of responding to her question, Junsu simply expresses how much he misses her. It brings So Eun to tears. He pulls her into his embrace and kisses her on the lips. He misses her terribly.
"Why didn't you respond to my question? I keep attempting to contact you but am unable to? Please tell me what happened!" So Eun is still arguing with her boyfriend.
"First and foremost, let us take a seat and eat dinner; I'm hungry." Junsu maintains his smile while his girlfriend sulks toward him. He gently pulls her towards the dining table, where he has already prepared a full set of dinner for the special occasion. So Eun's birthday.
"Junsu-ah... Did you make it on your own? Is this why you didn't come to pick me up?" So Eun continues to inquire, causing the singer to laugh.
"That's correct... I apologize. I did purposefully ignore your phone call to irritate you in order to surprise you with this? Are you really upset?" He playsfully pinches her cheek, causing the actress to pout.
"I am extremely irritated! You are extremely cruel "Junsu smiles as she casts a mischievous glance at him.
"Hehe, let's just eat for the time being..." Junsu begins preparing So Eun's food in her bowl, allowing the actress to taste each meal he carefully prepares for her. So Eun eats wholeheartedly, making Junsu happy by watching her enjoy her meal. He continues to smile as he observes her eating.
"But... So Eun-ah, I keep waiting for you in the apartment and watching your arrival from the window..." by saying that it causes So Eun to stop eating. She has a bad feeling about the sudden topic he brings up. Junsu is still smiling, but his gaze is hesitant.
"Can you tell me why Lee Hyuk Soo-ssi drove you home?" Finally, he asks what's been bothering him.
