Julia and I sent the cookies and brownies to the social media influencers. We are excited about their feedback because we know our products are good.
"My professor talked to me yesterday," Julia said as we went out of the delivery store. "Why? is there something wrong?" I asked. "My grades are getting low," she said in frustration. "Why?" I asked her again. Julia is not as studious as I am but she did great in our previous semester, same as Austin. "I don't know, but our professor told me that noticed that I was a bit distracted." "Do you think baking is distracting you? I can bake our orders alone, so you can focus on your class," I said.
I don't want her to be distracted. I care about her grades, it's her future. "No, it's not baking. Our professor told me I spent too much time on Dylan," she said. "You think so?" I asked. "Maybe he's right. Instead of studying g I always went to Dylan's place to hang out with him and his friends. Austin once scolds me about this." "So it was Dylan, how was your relationship with him?" I asked. "It's okay. We fought a lot these days. I'm always jealous of girlfriends, but he always assures me that nothing's going on between them.'
"Are you sure?" I asked. Not convinced by what she said. I don't know why I feel this way to Dylan, but if I were to choose Julia's boyfriend, I will not choose him even though he is also friends with Austin.
"I'm sure. I trust him," she said smiling at me. I hope he doesn't break my friend’s trust and heart.
While we were walking and talking about Dylan. Julia suddenly stop walking and looked at the two people holding hands in front of her.
Caught in the act. Julia couldn't move when she saw Dylan holding hands at the mall with his friend.
I was about to confront Dylan, but Julia stop me.
"Let him be," she said, "I'll confront him later."
Dylan was so busy with the girl that he didn't realize Julia and I were in front of them.
Julia wasn't talking when we were in her car. I know she's trying to keep herself calm in front of me.
"I'm going to punch that guy. I sacrifice my class to be with him and it came to the point where my grades are getting and he was cheating on me.
And that girl, I swear I’m going to pull her hair once I saw her. That bitch."
"Just tell me if you need back up," I jokingly said.
"No need, cara. I can do it on my own," she said.
She dropped me off at the convenience store. I'm scared of what she can do, so I called Austin.
"Hello?" he answered.
"Julia saw Dylan cheating on her. She's about to confront them now, you know how scary Julia is when she's mad."
"Okay. I'll check on her,"
After the call, the picture of what happened the other day flashed into my mind.
Aghhhh! Why did I remember it again? I'm having a headache thinking about it.
I tried to do my normal routine when I am at the store. While arranging the products on the shelves, Roman called me from outside.
"Cara, Colin left these for us." roman said.
"What's that?" I asked. Colin's flight was today, and how thoughtful he is to drop by just to give us food.
"Pizza," he said.
We ate the pizza outside since there were no customers yet.
"Can I have some?" Austin suddenly appeared. I almost got choke when I feel his presence beside me.
"Are you okay?" he asked me as his hands were in my shoulder as if he was massaging it.
"Yeah. I'm okay," I said.
He took a slice of pizza and ate it.
"who bought this?" he asked.
"Colin bought this. He even dropped by before he went to the airport." Roman said, smiling at Austin.
"Why is he in the airport?" he asked.
"He's going back to his family," Roman said as I was busy eating pizza.
"His son looked a lot like him, right cara? Remember the photo he showed us," he added.
"Son? Wait - is he married?" Austin asked looking so confused
"Yes. He's married," I smiled. Colin has a beautiful family.
"But why is he flirting with you?" Austin asked me.
"Flirting? He's not. He told me that I remind him of his younger sister," I said.
"Oh! I didn't know about that," he said."Cara, do you want to go to Julia’s place later?"
"Why? Do we have a lot to bake?" I asked him.
"No, but she wants to drink at her place."
"What happened to the confrontation?" I asked Austin.
"They broke up."
"Good to know. He's a cheater," I said, shaking my head.
I know Julia loves Dylan. It's obvious, but I’m glad she was able to break up with him especially now that he's making her look like an idiot and cheating on her.
Austin waited until I got off from work. We rode his motorcycle to go to Julia's place.
Julia opened their gate for us, and she already looked like a mess.
"Where's your mom and dad?" I asked.
"They're not home. I'm alone tonight, they went to grandma," she said.
"Why didn't you wait for us to start drinking?" Austin asked.
"I couldn't wait anymore. I'm desperate to drink already. I want to get drunk and drink this pain away,"
I felt sad for her. She may be strong outside, but I can feel how hurt she is right now. Damn that Dylan.
We went to their living room. Julia and Austin drink together while I went to their kitchen to pack the oatmeal cookies individually.
I was listening to their rants about life, and I noticed that Julia has a lot to say. I was smiling the whole time. They're too cute. I saw Julia get drunk many times, but I haven't seen Austin get drunk. I hope he won't get drunk since he will be riding his motorcycle on his way home. I don't want him to get into an accident.
"Cara, get in here!" Julia shouted. "You can't escape me. You need to drink with us."
"I'll finish this first!" I shouted back. I carefully packed the cookies which will be delivered tomorrow by Carlon.
I sat beside Julia.
"Are you drunk already?" I asked her.
"No. Not yet! " she looked away. "Drink this," she said, offering me the can of alcohol.
"Just this one, okay?" I told her.
I looked at Austin and he was wasted already.
"Hey, Austin! Stop drinking!" I said. He smiled at me.
"Why?" He asked. His face is already red.
"You'll ride your motorcycle. It's dangerous," I scolded him.
"She likes me," he said randomly. This is my chance to ask him anything, I guess he'll answer me truthfully tonight since he's drunk.
"Who likes you?" I asked.
"Hope. I knew it! She likes you!" Julia shouted.
"Hey! Don't shout, I’m in front of you. You don't have to shout." I scolded Julia.
"Who's hope?" I asked the two of them.
"Our new classmate, who sits beside Austin," Julia added.
"I don't like her, Julia! She's not cara," I gasped at what Austin said.
"Cara, he likes you!" Julia said, laughing.
Does Austin say he likes me? And did Julia confirm it? My heart is beating so fast because of this two.
"Are you sure?" I asked Julia
"You're too numb and dumb not to feel it, cara!" Julia shouted.
"Is it true?" I asked, looking at Austin. Hope likes me, she said it earlier, but I don't like her. I like you, cara, but you like colin. I guess that's life." he said, being dramatic.
To be honest, I don't know what to say to Austin. I do like Colin at first, but my feelings fade when I knew he has his own family.
"I don't like colin anymore," I said, laughing.
“Who do you like now?” Austin said.
“I don’t know,” I said.
Austin let a deep sigh.
“Julia, you need to sleep now,” I said and carried Julia to her room, so she could rest. She is so drunk right now that I think she’ll regret this tomorrow. Austin was about to pass out on the couch too.
“Austin, I think you need to stay here. Rest here,” I said.
“No, I’ll go home,” he protested.
“No, stay here. It’s dangerous to use your motorcycle in that state. I’ll go home now, sleep here on the couch,”
“Stay here,”
Should I stay?
