Carlon sat infront of me. "What about cara?" he asked me. "She's been working too much." "She is. That's why I volunteered to deliver the brownies, so she won't have to worry," "Always look out to her. She might overwork herself again. I'm worried," I said. "Don't worry, Austin. Our father will start his therapy soon. That's was the only reason why cara worked so hard, to earn money for dad's therapy, but his batchmates from high school helped him." "That's great news. Anyway, that's all I want to say, to watch over cara," I smiled at carlon. "Thank you for looking after my sister. She found great friends with you and Julia," he said. We ate there and planned about basketball.
CARA'S POV We were at Julia's house baking brownies and cookies. Austin and I message a couple of influencers to send them free products for an unbiased opinion. We make sure to put it in presentable packaging. We also discovered to promote our product on different social media platforms to attract more customers using only our phones. "I'm craving cinnamon rolls. Can we bake it today?" Julia asked. "Do you have the ingredients needed?" Austin asked. "Yeah. I have." "Let's bake it then," I said. Julia and I got the ingredients and utensils needed. Baking cinnamon rolls took a couple of hours for the dough needs to rise twice. Julia made the dough, and I mixed the cinnamon and brown sugar. "Austin, can you check our website if we have any orders yet?" I asked while I was on my phone looking at the influencers' social media. "Oh! We have a lot of orders of oatmeal cookies," he said. "How about the brownies?" Julia asked. "One dozen brownies and two dozen oatmeal cookies," he said. "That's great! I love the oatmeal cookies as well," I said. While I was browsing on my social media. A "Look at this!" I said excitedly. Austin and Julia looked at my phone. "This YouTuber was eating our oatmeal cookies," I said. "Maybe her viewers saw the sticker with caia bakes, and they bought it." "I think so, but that's great. We don't need to send free products," Austin laughed. We continued preparing, but I immediately went to the store to work because the owner asked me a favor. Roman greeted me when I arrived. There are a few people inside the store, buying. I looked outside and saw two buses. "Did you ride those buses?" I asked the girl in front of me. "Yes. We're from a different city, and we visited the school," she said, smiling at me. With what she said, an idea came into my mind. I put the tray of brownies and cookies in front of the counter. "This is delicious. You will like these brownies and cookies." I offered them the brownies. "How much is this?" they asked. "Only a dollar," I said. Each of them bought one brownie and some cookies, and when they tasted it, they bought a couple more. I'm glad I offered them the brownies. I saw Roman smiling at me. He must be proud of me. When they left, I did what the owner asked me to do. I was busy for almost two hours. I went back to the counter, and I saw colin laughing with roman. I laughed when I realized that my happy little crush on him was gone. He saw me at the counter, so he went inside. "Hey!" "Hi, Colin!" I smiled at him. "Are you and Julia free later after your work?" he asked. "I guess so. Why?" "I'm leaving the day after tomorrow. I want to say thank you for being a friend while I'm here," he smiled at me. "Really? We'll go. Where is it?" I asked him again. "At the cafe where I saw you." "Okay, but I thought you'd be here for three months. What happened?" "There's an emergency at home," He said. I didn't ask him anymore as it might be too personal. "I'll see you later then." I nodded and texted Julia. Of course, Julia will be there, and I'll come. Dylan and Julia picked me up after work. "Where's Austin?" I asked. "Is he invited?" "Oh! Colin didn't say anything about Austin." We decided not to call Austin because we're shy if we brought him along when colin didn't even invite him. We went to their table, and I sat between luke and Julia. "Where's your other friend?" Colin asked me. I looked at Julia, "Oh! I forgot to tell him," she said even though we didn't contact Austin. "Everyone, I would like to thank you all for being a good friend to me. I only spent two months here, but I'm very blessed to meet all of you. I hope to see you again," Colin said. We ate dinner and had time to talk about random things in life. "Is that Austin?" Colin asked. Julia and I looked behind us and saw Austin with a girl. "Hope?" Julia said and walked to where Austin and hope were. I stayed with Colin. "I told you he doesn't like me," I told Colin. "Why do you seem sad?" he jokingly said. "No, I'm not," I said in defense. "Who's that girl?" he asked. "I don't know her. Austin didn't say anything," I watched Julia talk to Austin and the girl. I bet she knew who the girl was. Colin and I were looking at them, and Austin seemed to notice and gave us a simple smile. Who is she? I asked myself. Oh! Maybe that was the girl Austin was telling me. The girl he likes. I went back to the table, and colin introduced me to his other friends. He told them that I reminded him of his younger sister, and they agreed. I was still wondering who the girl was. Julia and Dylan drove me home, but I told them to drop me off two streets away from home. I don't know, but I want to walk home alone. "Why are you walking alone?" I was startled when someone talked. I looked behind, and I saw no one. I was about to run, but someone held my arms. I saw Austin laughing at me. My heart was beating so fast. "WHAT THE HECK AUSTIN," I shouted at him. "What?" he said. "ARE YOU PLANNING TO KILL ME?" I said in frustration. "No. I was messing around. I'm sorry," Austin said, laughing at me. I was so mad. I got scared, so I hurriedly walked home. "Hey! I'm sorry!" he chased me. I continued walking and ignored him, but he held my arms this time. I am facing him now, and I glared at him. His face became serious as he stared at me. His face is getting near. I was confused. Is he going to kiss me right now? or what? His lips are getting near, but I remember the girl he was with earlier. I turned my head away from him, and he stopped. "Goodnight," I said to him and walked away. I didn't look at him when I said goodnight. I don't want to see his reaction if he was smiling or not. I went inside my house to drink a glass of water. My mind captured a picture of him about to kiss me, and it's driving me crazy.
