Chapter Fifty

"Roses! So romantic!" She sniffed them, beaming with smiles, while Asher stared at her helplessly.
His eyes traveled from her long legs up to her beautiful and spotless face. He knew Cassie didn't have any female friends but who was this one? And why did she look like someone he had met before? He could also sense that she was a supernatural.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" She asked with a slight frown. "Wait! Are the flowers not for me?" She asked and he shook his head.
"Sapphire, who is that?" Kash stood and walked over to the door, since Sapphire was taking too long to come back in. When he saw Asher, his facial expression changed and his gaze darkened when he saw the bouquet of roses in Sapphire's arms.
"What are you doing here?" Kash asked.
"I believe a simple good afternoon would be fine." Asher rolled his eyes.
"That doesn't answer my question." Kash frowned.
Sensing the aura, emanating from the guys, Sapphire pointed out that her brother was not in good terms with this guy. Cassie came to meet them at the door and smiled when she saw Asher.
"Asher! Welcome. Please, come in." She smiled, making way for him to pass.
Asher smirked at Kash who scoffed and went to sit down. Asher entered the house and helped himself with a seat.
"I believe these are for you." Sapphire smiled, handing the bouquet of roses over to Cassie.
"Awwn, you bought roses for me?" She smiled.
"Yes. Lily told me that you passed out in school today, so I had to rush down here to see you. How are you feeling now?" Asher asked.
"I'm fine now." She smiled.
"But, what really happened?" He asked.
"I seriously don't remember. All I could remember was coming to look for you concerning the school dance and stuff. After that, I don't remember what happened next. I've tried but I can't." Cassie sighed.
"This is strange." Asher muttered.
"What if I hypnotize you into remembering?" Sapphire asked.
"Like what you did to Drake? No, please." Cassie shook her head, making Sapphire laugh.
Asher's eyes blinked when Cassie said that. What she did to Drake? Just how much had he missed?
"What happened to Drake?" Asher asked.
"Nothing you should know of. It's good for people to mind their businesses sometimes." Kash rolled his eyes.
Asher didn't want to say anything, so that Cassie wouldn't hate him. He only frowned at what Kash said and looked away. Cassie knew Kash didn't trust Asher that much yet, so she expected that attitude from him.
She cleared her throat. "Why don't we watch an action movie?" She asked.
"I'd love a good action movie but I have to check on... you know who and return to the kingdom to inform Roland that I will be here for a while." Sapphire stood up.
"Alright. But, please get back soon. Don't forget that we're supposed to go shopping." Cassie smiled.
Sapphire chuckled. "Of course!" She disappeared.
Cassie changed the channel to where an action movie was airing and turned to face Asher.
"Mind my manners. What can I offer you?" Cassie asked.
"A glass of water would be fine." Asher smiled.
"Alright. I'll be right back," She said and made her way to the kitchen.
After she left, Asher turned to face Kash. "I think she loves me." He smirked.
Kash scoffed. "You need glasses."
"You're known for your sharp tongue but I'm not bothered because she will soon be mine. I had to catch them young and now I'm taking her as my date to the dance. Who are you taking?" Asher asked with a huge smirk plastered on his face. He wouldn't miss the opportunity to rub it off on Kash's face.
Kash wasn't bothered. "No one. Or are you planning on getting someone for me?" He asked. Asher didn't expect that kind of response from him. Kash leaned closer and whispered, "Whatever your plans are for that dance, bear it in mind and be prepared because they aren't going to work. I will make sure of that."
Asher scoffed. "You might get disappointed." He smiled.
"You might not see me coming." Kash smiled. When he saw the displeased look on Asher's face, he chuckled and crossed his legs.
Cassie returned with the cup of water and Asher masked up his frown with a smile. "Thanks." He smiled, taking the water from her.

THE REALM
The ocean was now calm and everything had returned to normal. The king and queen were in the throne room with the royal advisers, having a discussion when Aunt Maggie appeared.
"Maggie!" King Harven exclaimed.
"Your majesty." Aunt Maggie bowed to the king and queen.
"Your highness!" The royal advisers stood up and bowed to her. She nodded and they sat down.
"Come and sit down, sister." Queen Roanna offered.
"I'm sorry, sister but I cannot sit down in a situation like this. We have a big problem that if care isn't taken might lead to bigger problems in the future." Aunt Maggie looked around, using her eyes to scrutinize the whole place.
"What happened?" Roxy asked.
"There is a..." Aunt Maggie trailed off. What if the mole was present with them in the throne room? If she tells them now, matters would become more complicated. She needed to talk to the king and queen alone.
"What is it, your majesty?" Samuel, one of the royal advisers asked.
"Um... I'll talk to the king and queen then get back to you. I request to see the king and queen, alone please." Aunt Maggie bowed.
"Okay." King Harven stood up and intertwined his fingers with that of the queen. Aunt Maggie led the way to the inner chamber, where the royal families always hold secret meetings. No one is allowed in there except them.
"So, what is going on?" Queen Roanna asked.
"There is a mole in Athens." Aunt Maggie whispered and they gasped.
"Are you sure of what you just said?" King Harven asked.
"Yes, my king..." Aunt Maggie paused and told them all that happened. That was when they understood why the ocean was like that few moments ago.
"This is serious. We have heard you and will do something about it." king Harven said.
"And I think you should watch the royal advisers closely and question the maids and guards. Why I mention the Royal advisers is because they're the only people who the royal family discuss matters like that with. If the mole continues to feed our enemies information about us, then doom would be inevitable." Aunt Maggie explained.
"Okay. What about Cassandra, is she okay now?" Queen Roanna asked.
"Yes, she is."

OREKLION
Sapphire appearing in her room and met Roland, sitting on her chair.
"Where have you been?" He asked immediately he noticed her presence.
"Well... It's a long story actually." She chuckled, dropping her sword on the floor.
Roland turned and faced her. "Why are you in war clothes?" He asked. "Did you get into a fight or something?" He asked.
"I wouldn't say I fought." She smiled.
"Be serious!" Roland snapped at her.
"Fine! I went to save the person I was supposed to guard. I'm finally a guardian, okay?" She snapped back.
Roland chuckled. "Are you really that desperate?" He asked.
"Pardon?" She couldn't believe what she just heard.
"We all know you do not have someone to guard and we aren't making fun of you. Why would you use that as an excuse sneaking out?" He asked.
"Are you trying to say that I'm making up excuses?" She gasped.
"Yes! If you tell me where you went to, I won't punish or harass you. Why aren't you patient enough to wait for your time, huh? Using that as an excuse was way too low, even for you." Roland said and Sapphire blinked.
"I am using nothing as an excuse. I truly am a guardian now." She tried to make him see her point but he wasn't interested which only annoyed her more.
"Spare me that!" He snapped and stood up.
"What is wrong with you? Why do you think so highly of yourself?" She asked in annoyance.
"So highly of myself? I'm scolding you for what you did." He said.
"I did nothing wrong! You're so proud of yourself that you think no one can do better than you. You care about your feelings alone and only about what you gain. What would I gain by making excuses with something as serious as becoming a guardian, huh? If you don't believe me, fine but don't you ever call me a liar again!" She snapped at him, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Roland was surprised at her reaction. She hadn't talked to him like that before even though they never saw eye to eye. Shock was an understatement for what he was feeling that moment. Did he really hurt her feelings with those words?
"Sapphire, I_"
"Don't you dare call my name. You know what, I don't wanna see you for the whole of today." She yelled and disappeared.
Roland sighed and ruffled his hair. She was pissed and now he had to apologize.
Now, what can he do to make that drama queen he calls a sister happy with him again?
