We drove to the hospital as soon as Kelvin called Rolland to tell him that the interpreter, Felix that was shot was finally awake. Felix smiled warmly at Rolland and raised his brow when he saw me, "it's good to see you again Boss, who's she?" Felix said tiredly, "she's my wife" Rolland answered and I narrowed my eyes at him, waving my fingers in his face, "I don't see a ring in any of them" I mouthed and he smiled.
"Geez, you are married already?, How long was I asleep for again Kel?" He asked his brother who smiled at him, "if I remember correctly, you have been sleeping for fifteen years" Kelvin exaggerated and we burst out laughing, "tell me you are joking" Felix said his voice croaking and eyes like it was about to fall off soon, "off course not man, you've only been sleeping for 3 months, whoever said 15 years" Steve said entering the ward with Daisy behind. She was in a baggy shirt and slippers, her fingers was interlocked with Steve's and I raised my brow at her, she blushed heavily and buried her face in her palm shyly. I almost laughed out my lungs with the way Daisy was behaving.
"Woah, Woah, Steve came in with another female, is she your wife too?" Felix asked again, "you can say that again" Steve replied winking at Daisy who smiled in return. "I guess I and my brother are the single ones in the circle" he joked and we turned to Kelvin, "actually bro, I just got out of the single life shii, I have a beautiful date now" Kelvin said and turned his face away shyly. The guys gave him a knowing smile while I, Daisy and Felix stood there dumbfounded, "what?" Felix shrieked, his hand on his chest, "who's she?" I found myself asking. I was thinking of Jennifer because I remembered he was in charge of her case, could it be that he had fallen for the criminal?, I shivered at my own thoughts.
"Alexis, Steven's sister" he said with a boyish grin and somehow I felt relieved and very happy for him, I mean, Kelvin is a nice dude and Lexy is nice too, How I found out, we hung out a lot of times. "Speak of the Devil" Daisy muttered as soon as Alexis entered, a gasp escaped Felix lips, "she's the one right?" He asked his brother who nodded shyly. "Hi there, it's a good thing you opened those eyes, welcome back to the planet" she said with a big smile while handing something to him. Fortunately, Alexis was the only one who was wise enough to bring a gift along, "thank you so much sis" Felix gushed and we all smiled at him.
"How far have you gone about the case?" Felix asked, "nothing for now, we've been waiting for you to wake up" Steven answered, "but not to worry, I wouldn't like to stress you man, you're just waking up and will need all the rest you can get" Rolland said concerned and I smiled at him, "nah, it's no biggie, all you have to do is to investigate the name I wrote down. Wait, you guys saved my jotter right?" He asked wide eyed and we turned to Kelvin again, "tell me you did" Felix pleaded with his eyes closed. "I did, but it's not in my custody" Kelvin answered, "who is holding it then?" Daisy asked, "my friend?, Sam?" Kelvin answered, more like questioned and Felix slapped his face, "you sold my jotter?" Felix snarled, "of course not" Kelvin said nervously, "no, you sold my jotter to Sam!" Felix yelled.
"Come on man, you know Sam have always wanted your jotter and I needed some cash at that moment" Kelvin answered, "and selling my jotter was an option?" Felix asked, "I couldn't steal, besides, we both know that Sam didn't actually buy your jotter, we just exchanged products" Kelvin defended, "like his jotter for some money? Like trade by barter?" Alexis asked, "exactly" Kelvin replied.
"When are you getting it back?" Felix asked, "right now, I will just give him a call, he's in town I guess" Kelvin replied typing away on his phone, "would you like something to eat, Felix?" I asked and he nodded, "we will get you something, anything in mind?" I asked again, "club sandwich and a bottle of soda" he answered, "weird for someone who just woke up from coma" Alexis muttered. "I will talk to your doctor about it" I said pulling Daisy who pulled Alexis out of the ward.
Rolland
We waited for the girls and the said Sam who offered to bring the jotter to the hospital, himself. Sounds of laughter was heard outside the ward and without being told, I knew who it belonged to, Amelia. I could see her face through the glass window in the hospital and couldn't help but admire the beauty queen before me. A deep masculine voice echoed in the hallway, Amelia gasped in surprise, "Sam, it's you again" she called with a smile, together they entered the ward.
"Hey man, we meet again" he smiled at me and I chuckled, "Felix, you're up" he beamed, "my jotter please" Felix said instead, stretching his hands, Sam chuckled before placing it in his hand, "I didn't see any secret in it like I expected" Sam said and Felix smirked, "of course not, I'm not some dumb teenage girl that writes down everything she sees, thinks or wants, this is my jotter and not a dairy" Felix said sweetly while swiping the pages of the book. "That's true but you forgot not to include the name of your crush in the book" Sam smirked, "I did not do that" Felix warned, "oh really?, Then who is Emily?" He sang.
"Exactly, that's the name boss, Emily. That's what she said" Felix exclaimed in joy, "I don't know any Emily who was friends with my mom" I said, "but there's only one Emily you know, your aunt is Emily right?" Mel asked and my eyes bulged at her words.
