~LEONA~
I hope I'm not hallucinating because I can't picture Yolando at some lingerie shop. What will he be doing here anyway? If Yolando is around, then it will be because of me alone. He won't while away his precious time at this place.
Besides the cologne wasn't made for just Yolando, others can also use it even Kathie.
I wish I could go and sniff her just to clear my doubts but I can't. She'll think I'm crazy.
I stopped a taxi and once I got in, Raymond texted me their location. I'm not conversant with the route here in New Jersey so I gave the driver the address.
I tried calling the only contact on my list apart from Raymond but it was busy. I tried it again but the same. I texted him and placed my phone back into the purse.
I wish my life wasn't this boring; no friends, no family except for Raymond and Leonard whose father I am yet to find. As if that was not enough, I have to deal with Yolando and worry about where he's holding my family captive.
Once again I wish my life wasn't such a mess. I wish I didn't have to be the girl everyone had so much hope in.
I wish to be the girl who has so many decent friends with a handsome boyfriend who's going to support me in all my endeavors and be my anchor.
I wish to be working now and supporting my family like how it was planned. I would gladly take care of them and support them. I would be what my father has always dreamed of and the role model to my half-siblings.
"Madam we're here." The driver announced and I looked out to see that we were in front of a children mall.
I paid and got out with my stuff. I was about to get in when I saw Raymond coming with Leonard high on his shoulders.
"You came late, we were just leaving," Raymond said when he got to me.
" Oh okay. "
We got back into the car and drove home.
The rest of the day wasn't much eventful. I didn't hear from Dave and I don't know if I should go to work tomorrow.
I still don't know why he hasn't called. I'd try not to miss him that much.
The next day was Monday and I saw myself getting ready for work.
Raymond dropped me off as usual and I walked into the big company through the hall.
"Hi Dora," I greeted cheerfully.
"Hi, Leona." She said and concentrated on her work.
I grabbed a cup of coffee from the canteen before going to my office. The day went on smoothly and I was able to resist the urge to call Dave or go to his office.
Some hours after lunch, I received some documents from Dave's personal secretary telling me that Dave said I should go home and work on it.
"Do I have to go now?" I asked.
"Yes, Ms. Grande. He said now." She replied.
I dropped the call, parked the documents into a file then walked out of the company. It was almost closing time anyway.
I called Raymond and told him that I'll be home early today.
I stopped a taxi and got in when I got to the roadside.
"Nelli street 27." I gave him the address and relaxed in the car.
I wonder why Dave didn't call me personally but chose to deliver his message through someone else. I tried calling him again but it was unreachable. I even went through the trouble to get some undies that I thought he'd like but here he was busy avoiding me.
What the hell was... I looked out the window and realized that the driver passed the wrong route.
"Sir please you're passing the wrong road," I said but he didn't mind me and drove faster.
" Sir please."
He didn't mind me. My heart began to pound in my chest.
Am I dreaming or something? What the hell was wrong with him?
"Stop the damn car!" I shouted and got the cap off his head from the back seat.
My eyes hit the driving mirror and saw him wink. The driver was none other than Dave.
"Dave!"
"Yes, baby." He said, chuckling.
"Why did you pull such a stunt on me?". My heart was still pounding.
" Because I missed you."
My heart pounded louder but this time, ok n a positive way. Damn. I was scared out of my wit thinking I was being kidnapped.
" Alright, but where are you taking me to?"
"Somewhere nice. But could you please come to the front?" He pleaded.
He slowed the car and I struggled to pass between the front seats to get to the front.
I
" Did you have to dress as a driver? Was it even necessary?"
"Why does it matter? I just thought of scaring the hell outta you.."
" Okay, but you should try harder next time," I said and chuckled. But he actually scared me.
" So where were you? I also missed you."
" Busy preparing something for us." He replied and looked at me before focusing on the road.
" preparing something?"
" Yes."
" What is it?"
" It's a surprise, I can't tell you." He said and turned to another route which led to the woods.
He kept driving deeper until we got closer to a stream that had a house in the middle. The area was clean and quiet looking.
"Welcome to my favorite place." He said and came out.
He opened the door for me and took my hand.
When I was out fully, he held me captive against the car.
"You look unrecognizable in these clothes, Dave," I said and scrunched my face. He looked stuffy.
He smiled, stepped back and ripped the uniform from him, revealing his signature suit.
"How do I look now, miss Leona Grande?" He posed in front of me with a dashing smile.
I couldn't help laughing. I closed the gap between us and snaked my hands on his waist.
"You look just like Dave. The Dave I've grown to like." I said and kissed him on the cheek.
He grinned at me, his eyes twinkling.
" Okay, may I show you around?" He asked with a smile.
"Of course," I said and hooked my arms around his as we stepped carefully on the grass below us.
The air blew my hair back as we walked from the car on to the wooden floor that leads to the house.
Everywhere was quiet except for the sound of the wind blowing and sound of the dry leaves that were crashing beneath us.
We were alone, completely alone. No cars,no humans. Just us. The two of us and surprisingly, I wasn't afraid.
When we got on the wooden bridge, I was able to see how clean and clear the water was.
The small house seems to be made of only glass and that makes it look attractive.
He fetched the keys from his pocket and unlocked it.
"Until today, I've always been here alone. I'm glad I brought you here." He said when we stepped in.
" Thanks, it's really a nice place and the house is awesome," I said and examined the room.
Inside was large and it comprised a kitchen and even a bathroom. The room was clean and smelled of cinnamon and some other scent which can only be described as Dave.
The bed was small but big enough for two people. It was covered with clean plain white sheets only.
Dave pressed on something and the curtains raised, revealing the water which was surrounding the small house. It was the most beautiful sight I've ever seen.
Dave began to remove his clothes and I rushed and pressed the button he pressed then the curtains came down.
"There's no need for that. You can be naked in here, no one will see you." He said and took the rest of his clothes off leaving him in only his shorts.
"You should take off your clothes too." He said.
" Why? I think we should be going back."
" What? You think I brought you here just to show you around like some tour guide then send you back?"
" Then?" I asked.
" I brought you here so I could spend some quality time with you.." he walked closer. "Then Romance you after if there's more time left." He pulled me to his bare chest.
"Let's swim. The water is warm now."
"I didn't bring any swimsuits."
" Who cares? No one comes here so we're alone. You can swim in your pants and bra." He said and zipped my dress down.
I stepped out of it, picked it up, and folded it neatly.
"Where should I put it?" I turned to him.
For a minute, he just stared at me with wide eyes and dropped jaw.
"Dave?"
He blinked.
"Fuck! What are you wearing?" He asked as his blue eyes darkened on me.
"I got some new undies yesterday."
"For me?" He asked and licked his lips as he stared at me.
"I guess." I nodded shyly.
"Aww, my sweet Leo." He pecked my lips then laced his fingers with mine.
"So what do you think?" I asked him.
" I feel like taking it off and pinning you down beneath me right now. This set is a killer. Just look at you." He turned me around and I giggled with butterflies dancing all over my insides.
"But that will unfortunately have to wait." He turned to the lake, "Shall we?"
"Yes," I replied happily.
