Alvierra's P.O.V.
"Are the results out?" Rai asked as she entered the house.
"Not yet, they said it would come today," I said.
I was nervous and waiting for the results of my entrance exam.
"Is Ma'am Alvierra Mendoza here?" I heard a knock and then a voice, so Rai quickly walked towards it. She took an envelope that contained my fate.
"What? Let's check it," I said.
"Wait!" Rai said. She took the paper out and read what was written on it. Her reaction didn't change at all.
"What?! Rai, come on," I said.
"Sorry Vierra... But you passed! You're going to that school!" Rai said happily. I was nervous because of her sorry. Should I hit her and say, "Sorry Rai?"
Rai and I jumped together. Vince joined in too.
"Oh, what's all this noise?" Mama asked as she entered. 
"Tita! Vierra passed! She's going to EB International University!" Rai said happily.
"Oh, is that so? Good," Mama said.
Rai scratched her head because of Mama's reaction. After a while, she left because it was lunchtime and her mom was looking for her. I was about to enter our room when I heard a shout from Mama's room. I put my ear to the door and heard Mama's loud voice.
"Hon, our eldest passed the entrance exam to EB International University. The good school too. Yes! Come home early. I'll cook your and Vierra's favorite sinigang and adobo," I heard Mama say. I smiled because of that.
I just sat beside Vince, who was watching TV. Mama came out of the room as if nothing happened.
"I'll cook dinner later. I'm going out, Vierra. Don't go out later," Mama said.
"Yes, Mama," I said. She just nodded and went to the kitchen to serve our lunch that Mama cooked. It was pakbet, a vegetable dish, so Vince complained that he didn't like vegetables. I hit his hand, so he had no choice but to eat.
Don't worry, Vince. We'll have delicious food later.
I stared at Mama as if she was thinking. Was she thinking about what she would buy later?
"Mama!"
"Ay, garlic!" Mama was startled, so I got a hit on my shoulder.
"It's just that your rice is spilling," I said, pointing to her rice that was spilling.
"Don't scare me. You know I'm easily startled," Mama said and cleaned her plate. She ate quickly and went into her and Papa's room.
"Ate, you can have this," Vince said, pushing his plate with rice and viand.
"Vince, Mama will get mad. It's important to eat vegetables. Do you want your classmates to tease you that you didn't grow up because you don't eat vegetables?" I asked.
When he frowned, I also told him not to frown because it's bad. He finished his food. He also cleaned it up so I could wash it.
That night, Papa came home very happy. He also told me what Mama told him. I didn't tell Papa that I already knew.
"I want menudo," Vince said. Vince's favorite dish is menudo. Papa and I love sinigang and adobo. Mama likes anything.
"I cooked this today because I just wanted to," Mama said to us. Papa and I looked at each other and smiled.
The day of school came, and Mama said she would take me.
"Mama, it's okay. I'm in college now. I can go to school myself," I said.
"If Papa hadn't told me to take you, I wouldn't have done it. Let's go, you'll be late," Mama said. I laughed when Mama walked ahead towards the jeepney stop.
When we got off, I saw the big school in front of us.
"It's so beautiful," Mama said.
"Yes, it is," I said. "Go ahead, Ma. Take a ride."
"Yes, Vierra, we have an agreement, okay? Study hard and don't get distracted," Mama said.
"Oh Ma, can I have a boyfriend now?" I asked.
"Why? Have you graduated from college? Do you have a decent job and can the guy feed you with something he earned himself? In short, it's not possible yet," Mama said.
"Yes, okay," I said, laughing.
"Oh, go ahead and enter. I'll go home when I see you enter that gate," Mama said. I nodded and waved goodbye to Mama.
"Bye, Ma," I said. She just nodded and waited for a ride.
I looked at the map I brought and checked where my room was. This school is so big. There are so many buildings. I immediately saw the building for those with Education courses. I walked towards it. But it was a bit far, so I sat on a bench under a tree. I drank some water because I felt thirsty.
I spit out the water in my mouth when I saw Raiden enter the gate.
"W-why is he here?" I asked myself. His uniform was familiar, but I couldn't remember what course it was.
After a while, the bell rang, so I ran to our building. I looked for my room for my morning subject, and it was on the second floor.
When I entered, they were already there. I smiled when someone smiled at me.
I need to socialize and make friends to survive my college years.
More people came in, and after a while, someone came in and went to the front.
"Good morning, I'm your professor for this subject, and I am Prof Santos." I also took out my notes to take down notes about his rules and regulations. He also rolled call the students, saying that there might be someone who got lost or was absent.
College is nerve-wracking. And Raileigh isn't here yet. I don't know why Raiden is here. It's so far from their house. It's impossible that out of all the schools, he would choose this one. And he got in, there's an entrance exam, he's lazy to study, right? Or maybe he paid the tuition fee. I heard that his family is rich. Not rich, but maybe they're well-off. Please, I hope we're not classmates in other minor subjects.
I just listened to the discussion. There were a few more subjects that came in. My schedule said it was Lunch Break. 11-12:30 pm, what kind of Lunch Break is this?! An hour and a half.
I just looked for the cafeteria and planned to eat there. I didn't have any lunch except for money. And I don't know where I would eat if I had lunch.
I went in and ordered rice with viand. I saw adobo, so I immediately ordered it. The food here is so expensive.
I just observed and looked around. There are different kinds of students here. I hope I enjoy my college life and survive.
