The ‘This Is Too Quiet’ Scene
The fire crackled softly.
The village was still.
Too still.
Jax, lying on the ground. “I don’t trust it.”
Lucienne, dryly. “You don’t trust anything.”
Jax, grinning. “Yeah, because everything keeps trying to kill us.”
Elara, pulling her cloak tighter. “He’s not wrong.”
Kael, calmly. “Still, we need rest.”
Lucienne, muttering. “If we die in our sleep, I’m haunting you.”
Jax, cheerful. “Same.”
Kael, unbothered. “Duly noted.”
Elara, watching the fire.
Something felt off.
She just didn’t know what.
Yet.
---
The ‘Dreams Are Not My Friend’ Scene
Elara didn’t sleep well.
Every time she closed her eyes—
She was back there.
The temple.
The blood.
The voice.
“You can’t run from me, child.”
Elara, whispering. “I know.”
She hated how true it felt.
Then—
The dream shifted.
A dark figure.
Watching.
Waiting.
Then—
A hand, reaching.
“Elara.”
She gasped awake.
Kael, startled. “You okay?”
Elara, panting. “Yeah. Just—”
Kael, gently. “Nightmares?”
Elara, quietly. “Always.”
Kael, softly. “You’re not alone.”
Elara, meeting his gaze.
She wanted to believe that.
She really did.
---
The ‘Maybe Food Will Help’ Scene
Morning.
Jax, chewing something. “This is disgusting.”
Lucienne, flatly. “Then stop eating it.”
Jax, cheerful. “No.”
Kael, ignoring them. “We need to move soon.”
Elara, sipping water. “Back into danger?”
Kael, nodding. “Obviously.”
Lucienne, deadpan. “I hate this group.”
Jax, grinning. “You love us.”
Lucienne, sighing. “I wish I didn’t.”
Kael, smirking.
Elara, shaking her head.
They were all tired.
But—
They had no choice.
---
The ‘Leaving Was A Mistake’ Scene
They walked.
And walked.
And walked.
Then—
Lucienne, stopping. “Wait.”
Kael, tensing. “What?”
Lucienne, low voice. “We’re being followed.”
Jax, cheerful. “That’s fun.”
Elara, whispering. “How many?”
Lucienne, eyes narrowing. “Too many.”
Kael, calmly. “We run.”
Jax, grinning. “Now that’s my kind of plan.”
Then—
A shout.
A movement.
Then—
They ran.
---
The ‘We Suck at Running’ Scene
Elara, panting. “We are so bad at this.”
Jax, laughing. “Speak for yourself.”
Lucienne, deadpan. “I’m going to kill you.”
Kael, focused. “Turn left.”
They dodged.
Jumped.
Slid.
Then—
A wall.
Elara, groaning. “Great.”
Jax, cheerful. “Anyone got wings?”
Lucienne, sarcastic. “Yes, let me just summon them—”
Then—
A voice.
“Well, well.”
They froze.
Turned.
And—
Their luck officially ran out.
---
The ‘Guess We’re Fighting’ Scene
A dozen figures.
Surrounding them.
Jax, whispering. “I vote we fight.”
Lucienne, deadpan. “You always vote we fight.”
Kael, calmly. “We might not have a choice.”
The leader, grinning. “Oh, you don’t.”
Then—
A signal.
A rush of movement.
And—
The fight began.
---
The ‘This is Going Terribly’ Scene
Kael, dodging.
Lucienne, spinning.
Elara, blocking.
Jax, grinning. “Is it weird that I’m having fun?”
Elara, glaring. “YES.”
Jax, laughing.
Then—
A hit.
Lucienne, staggering.
Elara, yelling. “LUCIENNE!”
Kael, catching her.
Jax, gritted teeth. “That’s it.”
He lost it.
And then—
The battle really began.
---
The ‘Victory Costs Too Much’ Scene
They won.
But barely.
Elara, panting. “That was awful.”
Kael, checking Lucienne. “She’ll be okay.”
Jax, rubbing his jaw. “Ow.”
Lucienne, muttering. “I hate all of you.”
Jax, grinning. “Same.”
Elara, watching Kael.
He looked—
Tired.
More than usual.
Kael, noticing her stare. “What?”
Elara, softly. “You okay?”
Kael, quietly. “No.”
But—
He kept going.
Because he had no choice.
And that—
Terrified her.
---
The ‘We Are So Not Okay’ Scene
Elara couldn’t feel her legs.
Okay, that was dramatic.
She could feel them.
Unfortunately.
Because they hurt.
Like hell.
She exhaled sharply, pressing a hand against her ribs. Bruised. Maybe cracked.
Lucienne was still on the ground, pale but breathing. Kael had done his best to patch her up, but she wasn’t exactly looking fresh. Jax sat nearby, staring at the sky with that distant look he got when his body was in pain but his brain refused to process it yet.
Kael, glancing at her. “You good?”
Elara, blinking. “Define good.”
Kael, sighing. “Alive.”
Elara, grimacing. “Then sure.”
Kael, flatly. “That wasn’t convincing.”
Jax, cheerfully. “She never is.”
Elara, groaning. “Why are you still talking?”
Jax, grinning. “Because it annoys you.”
Lucienne, weakly. “Can I vote him out of the group?”
Jax, mock gasp. “Betrayal.”
Kael, ignoring them. “We need to move.”
Elara, muttering. “Of course we do.”
Because rest?
Not a thing.

---
The ‘Everything Hurts’ Scene
Walking was—
A process.
Step. Ow.
Step. Pain.
Step. Regret.
Elara, gritted teeth. “How far?”
Kael, calmly. “A few miles.”
Jax, horrified. “A few?”
Kael, raising an eyebrow. “Would you rather stay?”
Jax, considering. “Actually, yes.”
Lucienne, dryly. “Too bad.”
Elara, whispering. “This is awful.”
Jax, dramatic. “This is my villain origin story.”
Kael, unbothered. “Keep moving.”
Elara, sighing.
This was going to be a long day.

---
The ‘Something Feels Wrong’ Scene
The trees were too still.
The air was too quiet.
Lucienne, frowning. “Anyone else feel that?”
Jax, whispering. “Oh yeah.”
Kael, low voice. “Stay alert.”
Elara, shivering.
Something was watching them.
Then—
A crack.
Then—
Silence.
Jax, muttering. “Nope. Hate that.”
Kael, hand on his weapon. “Move faster.”
Elara, swallowing.
She had a bad feeling.
A really bad feeling.

---
The ‘Well, That’s Unfortunate’ Scene
They reached the clearing.
Jax, relieved. “Finally.”
Lucienne, collapsing onto a rock. “If I die, bury me with my sarcasm.”
Kael, checking the perimeter. “We won’t be staying long.”
Elara, tired. “Of course not.”
Then—
A rustle.
Elara, tensing.
She turned—
And—
Nothing.
Jax, narrowing his eyes. “...I swear something’s there.”
Lucienne, dryly. “Great. Love that.”
Kael, calmly. “Stay ready.”
Elara, breathing deep.
This wasn’t over.
Not even close.

---
The ‘Oh No, We’re Cursed’ Scene
Jax, squinting at his hands. “Uh.”
Elara, raising an eyebrow. “What?”
Jax, awkwardly. “I think something’s… wrong.”
Kael, suspicious. “Elaborate.”
Jax, waving his hands. “They’re— glowing?”
Elara, blinking. “What.”
Lucienne, sitting up. “Oh, that’s not normal.”
Jax, panicking. “Yeah, no kidding.”
Kael, studying him. “Did you touch anything strange?”
Jax, defensive. “I always touch strange things.”
Lucienne, muttering. “That explains a lot.”
Then—
Elara, gasping. “Uh.”
Because—
Her hands?
Also glowing.
And—
Not just glowing.
Changing.
Elara, staring.
Her skin—
Was not skin anymore.

---
The ‘We’re Not Human Anymore’ Scene
Lucienne, shocked. “Guys.”
Kael, still too calm. “I see it.”
Jax, panicking. “I hate magic.”
Elara, whispering. “This is bad.”
Her arms—
Not hers.
Not human.
Not normal.
Lucienne, grimacing. “Oh, this is so cursed.”
Kael, frowning. “It’s— a transformation.”
Jax, sarcastic. “Oh, really? What gave it away? The fact that I look like a monster?”
Elara, glaring. “You always looked like a monster.”
Jax, offended. “Wow. Rude.”
Kael, focused. “We need to figure this out.”
Lucienne, muttering. “Before we turn into something worse.”
Elara, swallowing.
Because—
What if this didn’t stop?

---
The ‘We Are So Screwed’ Scene
Jax, looking at his reflection. “I hate this.”
Lucienne, grimacing. “I mean, it’s an improvement.”
Jax, glaring. “I will fight you.”
Kael, calmly. “Focus.”
Elara, staring at herself.
Her hands.
Her face.
Her eyes.
Different.
Not human.
Not her.
Elara, quietly. “What did this to us?”
Kael, serious. “We need answers.”
Lucienne, grim. “And soon.”
Jax, muttering. “Before we turn into something worse.”
Elara, shivering.
Because that thought?
Terrified her.

---
The ‘What Now?’ Scene
Kael, decisive. “We find the source.”
Lucienne, groaning. “Of course we do.”
Jax, dryly. “Because that always goes well.”
Elara, whispering.
She had a bad feeling about this.
But—
What choice did they have?
None.
Absolutely none.
And that?
Was the real problem.
