Chapter 30 The Decisive Ending
“VIN!” Milea screamed at the top of her lungs. She thought it was Vincent who was shot. It turned out to be...
“Kazuto.” Vin quickly approached Kazuto who was now covered in blood. “Valeria, what are you doing?”
“He deserved to die,” Valeria said in a cold, heartless tone.
“You?” Vincent was stunned. “You're just like Lorenzo.”
“Don't compare me to my ex-husband! I'm clearly more powerful and ruthless than him. So, don't mess with me!” Valeria sternly warned Vincent.
A flash of fire a few minutes ago erupted from the muzzle of the gun controlled by Valeria. The sound of the shot echoed, breaking the eerie silence that had surrounded the place. Kazuto staggered. His eyes widened in disbelief as his chest felt hot and wet with fresh blood flowing from his bullet wound.
“Kazuto, hold on!”
“Vin ....”
Vincent saw Kazuto's left hand trembling. He was trying to grab onto something he could not reach. Within seconds, his body lost its balance, plummeting to the ground with a low thud. The flowing blood now formed a deep red puddle around him. His breath caught, then stopped completely.
“Kazuto,” Vincent called out while shaking his body.
Valeria was still standing straight, her gun raised. Her eyes looked so cold and sadistic, there was not the slightest hesitation in her, as she shot Kazuto dead. However, before she could breathe a sigh of relief, the roar of another battle caught her attention.
On the other side of the already cluttered room, Ryuga and Lorenzo were fighting relentlessly inside the submarine. They continued to clash, duelling on the strength of their arms and legs. Ryuga, with a gasp, jumped backwards, dodging Lorenzo's deadly attack that nearly ripped his chest open with a knife he was holding. He had no time to think, Lorenzo was too fast, too ferocious.
“Are you really a Japanese mafia, Ryuga?” taunted Lorenzo with a sharp grin. His face was full of wounds, but the look in his eyes showed no sign of surrender.
“Shut up, you bastard!” retorted Ryuga, who did not accept Lorenzo's mockery. “I don't want to hear your insults.”
“Your skills are terrible,” Lorenzo taunted again.
Ryuga didn't answer. He tightened his grip on the knife handle, then lunged. His slash was sharp, but Lorenzo twisted his body agilely, dodging the attack, then slashed back. Ryuga only had time to raise his hands and try to defend as best he could. Although the impact now made his arm shake violently.
Lorenzo attacked again. This time, his movements were like the shadow of a ninja: fast, furious, and deadly. Ryuga was forced back several steps, and almost lost his footing. In one fell swoop, Lorenzo leapt up, swinging his knife down with full force.
Ryuga raised whatever was there to block the attack, but it seemed too late. “Damn it!”
A long gash was carved into his shoulder, fresh blood gushing out. Ryuga groaned, but instead of retreating, he seized the moment. With all his might, he kicked Lorenzo in the chest until the man was pushed backwards.
Lorenzo staggered, but he was still able to smile. “You tried to fight me. But, you'll have to bear the consequences yourself.”
Ryuga wiped the blood from his lips. His eyes looked smouldering. “Until you die first.”
And so the fight continued, more brutal, and wilder. With no one willing to give up first. Until both were exhausted.

In a small room, lit only by the dim light of the monitor screen, Milea pressed ‘play,’ and the video recording began. The blurry images at the beginning slowly became clearer, telling the story of an event in the past that had been buried in Vincent's memory.
Vincent stared at the screen with a cold expression, but as time passed, the look in his eyes changed. His jaw hardened, his breath also held.
“What is this?” Vincent became interested and tried to find out.
“Just look at everything first, Vin!” said Milea.
In the video footage, a young man wearing a dark suit stood in the centre of the room. His voice was calm, but contained an undeniable tone of command.
“Make sure he doesn't survive this time. He could bother me a lot in the future. I also don't want any witnesses left,” he ordered.
Then the camera moved slightly, revealing someone's face. The man was Lorenzo Piero.
Vincent froze. His heart seemed to stop beating. Lorenzo...?
Then, the footage continued with gunshots. Someone's screams echoed, then the image ended with a black screen.
Vincent clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His body was shaking, not from fear, but from rage.
“He...” Vincent's voice sounded hoarse. “He killed them all.”
Milea looked at him with concern. “Vin... what are you going to do?”
Vincent raised his head slowly. His eyes were no longer the same, as if a vengeful fire was burning in them.
“I have to end this,” Vincent resolved.
Without waiting any longer, Vincent turned and stepped outside. The rain began to fall, soaking the streets as he ran towards where the fight was taking place. Every step was filled with determination. Ryuga had to survive. Lorenzo had to pay for what he had done in the past, to his father and Kazuto.
However, just as Vincent arrived at the battlefield, the air seemed to shake.
A voice rang out, echoing as it did between the clang of swords and the roar of those fighting.
A voice that shouldn't exist.
“Do you want to save this boy, Vin?” said Lorenzo as he held the battered Ryuga.
Vincent widened his eyes. His body froze in place. He recognised that voice, the voice that should never have been heard again.
From the shadows, the figure that should have been dead stepped out. A faint smile formed on his pale face, and his eyes looked at Vincent coldly.
Lorenzo Piero.
And in his hand, the gun was raised, aimed right at Vincent's heart.
Vincent didn't move, and there, Lorenzo stood with a triumphant grin. His hand was raised steadily, his fingers ready to pull the trigger at any moment.
However, that was not what made Vincent clench his fist so strongly.
In front of Vincent, Ryuga's scarred body was unceremoniously thrown to the ground like worthless trash by Lorenzo. His breathing was labored, blood flowing from his temples and the corners of his lips. Ryuga had tried to get up on his own, but his body was too weak to move.
“Look at this friend of yours!” Lorenzo kicked Ryuga casually, making him groan in pain. “How could someone as weak and pathetic as him fight me.”
Vincent felt something explode inside him. His anger overflowed uncontrollably. His eyes burned as he glared at Lorenzo.
“Shut up!” Vincent's voice sounded so deep, it contained a deadly threat. “You've crossed the line.”
“So, you want to end up like him?” taunted Lorenzo.
“On the contrary, you're the one who will end up now,” Vincent retorted with determination.Download Novelah App
