Chapter 25

“Anyway, can I drop by your house?”
“No.”
“I just give you an energy drink plus tea collaboration. Pretty please.”
“No, they are not on good terms with you, y'know. You should have known that when you act like a maniac in love.”
Kyung Min turned grumpy when he was rejected two times. I am not the one who didn’t appreciate his husband in his first life. Now, taste your own medicine when you can’t get anything you want instantly.
“This is boring, I am going home,” Kyung Min muttered as he stood up to leave.
That’s the first time. Giving up immediately? Is he finally sane?
“That’s great. I’ll see you once the collaboration is ready.”
Kyung Min waved his hand in dismissal as he walked out of the office. It’s great to see character development, honestly. I went out and saw Hee-Chul with Eun Ho. Eun Ho smiled as he held a document. “Reports for ya.”
“You can hand me that at home, you know? Why bother coming back when you are already with the kids and the other?”
“Since you go to work again, why shouldn’t I?”
Hee-Chul rolled his eyes. Right, at this point maybe he is the one lovestruck among us all. “I need you to pass on this contract while you’re here.” I said to Hee-Chul which he takes without questions and they left.
While I was busy with work, Kyung Min on the other hand makes his way out just to see a person he is familiar with. Minato. Oh, the first love. Out of all the original three husbands, he was the one Kyung Min or original Yato could never replace. He was so obedient, so loyal, Kyung Min regretted not having him in his second life.
“Yo, Mr. Handsome.” Kyung Min greeted him.
“Ah, yes, Mr. Kyung Min. What brings you to the company? I assume you did not bother any of my husbands today.” Minato smiles as he inquires about his existence in the company.
“Yeah, don’t worry. If it makes you happy, I was just discussing work with your beloved.”
Minato nodded and looked at his watch. “I should check on him. See you–”
“Care for a cup of coffee? Swear, no shenanigans, just chit-chat.” Kyung Min requested.
They decided to have a chat at the cafe nearby and Kyung Min was beyond thrilled. He was on cloud nine. He stares at the man before the waiter comes to their table. “I’ll have an Iced Latte.” Kyung Min said and he proceeded to let Minato order his drink.
“What do you want?”
Kyung Min gave him a smile and leaned back. “Nothing, just wanted to treat you to some coffee. You are so handsome, I’ll say that much.”
“Since you have come this far, I do have a question.”
Kyung Min hummed and let the man ask away any curious question.
“Are you some kind of secret servant of Yato or something?”
That was hilarious to Kyung Min. He had to let out a laugh before answering. “You are always the sharp one, Minato. But no. I assume you are cautious about me and Yato. No worries, I am not his secret lover either. Do you really want to know, though? You might be heartbroken by the end of the day.”
Minato chuckled softly, indicating his acceptance for any scenario. “I lived long enough, got married to multiple people at once, what’s more surprising.”
It does strike a little for Kyung Min. The feeling of lovestruck, obsession, and…pure love.
“That Yato you guys married is not the real Yato. I am.”
“...Are you on drugs?”
“Consider the possibility, Yato did act differently after the accident, no?” Kyung Min starts to bring up the cause.
“...Reincarnation, isn’t it?”
“I don’t expect you to believe me–”
“I can believe you.” Minato said as he looked at Kyung Min. “But I hope you only tell me this thing. Everyone is happy without you now, Yato.”
There it is, the honesty that slowly kills Kyung Min’s ego. Kyung Min leaned back as he covered his mouth. The fact that if he was in his original body, no one would be alive after those words come out.
“I can see that, Minato.”
“...Yato, you can work with…the Yato I currently love but please, leave us alone. There’s no second chance for you like Eun Ho had with us. You hurt us in your first life so consider being better in this life of yours…as Kyung Min.”
Kyung Min let the waiter who just arrived, put their drinks down before taking the cup to drink and held back his anger. He needs to calm down, seriously. “I can let Lan and Taejoon go but not you.” He said after putting the cup down.
“You’re my love, the one I can’t live without. My life's a mess without you, Minato. I grow up with you, you guide me–”
“You lived this far in your second life without me. Let me go.”
Kyung Min was devastated. He just drank some coffee but he felt like his throat was dry. He chuckled before leaning back to his seat. “Winning you guys back is impossible but telling the truth about my new life doesn’t seem to make you guys care and want me back…”
They turned quiet for a while before Kyung Min looked at Minato.
“Fine, I gave up.”
