The warm summer sunlight entered Callisto's bedroom, and it woke him up. For a while, the dark room blinded him, and everything gradually became apparent. He stood up, got out of his room, and continued walking towards the dining room where his father and sister were having breakfast. As Callisto walked in, he remembered the first day of their vacation in this town. It was this exact atmosphere. He looked at his father and saw that he wasn't so depressed anymore, and there was a cute smile on Ruth's lips. However, Callisto felt so different, seeing the chair where his mother would usually sit, but now it was empty. Sadness crept inside him as he looked at it, and his father and sister also noticed the change in his expression, and they could only give him a compassionate and empathetic gesture. Callisto could only wish his mother happiness wherever she was, as they were also happy and excited because they were finally leaving the place where many bad things happened, but Callisto knew that they were not all bad, and he learned many lessons. Sebastian faked a cough to get Callisto's attention. "You're finally awake, so are you ready to leave this town?" Sebastian asked. "I'm not ready, Dad. I have to pack up my things because there are too many of them. Our leave was so sudden, though. How about you and Ruth?" Callisto replied. "We have thought about this for so long, and we have finally decided to go back to the city," Sebastian said. "There's no more reason to stay here, so you have to say goodbye to your friends now." "How about you, Ruth?" Callisto sat down on the chair next to his sister. "Me?" Ruth asked. "I'm sorry, guys, but I don't really feel like going back to the city yet. There are many things that I haven't done yet. I wish we could stay longer here, but I know that is not possible." "Please try to understand, child. We can't stay here for long, especially after what happened. Although this place is nice, it also brought us nightmares, so if we want to have a normal and peaceful life, we have to go back as soon as possible," Sebastian tried his best to explain to his daughter. "I understand, Dad," Ruth replied. "Thank you so much, Ruth. I know your mother is now pleased and happy seeing you both fine. I wish I could hug her even just for the last time," Sebastian said. "You've said that, Dad. So you must not find another woman to replace my mom, or else she will ghost you," Callisto said sarcastically before eating his food. "But it can't be removed from me to complain about the difficulties of raising children!" Sebastian half-shouted as he walked out of the kitchen. Ruth looked at her brother and noticed that he looked sad, as if there was something or someone he couldn't leave behind in this town. "I thought you were excited because we're finally leaving this house, aren't you?" Ruth asked. "Don't you want to leave your girlfriend?" "How did you know that I have a girlfriend?" Callisto asked, confused by his sister's sharp intuition. "So you have?" Ruth asked as a defense to her hunch. "No—I mean, I have. But please, don't tell Dad about it. I knew that he didn't like that crazy girl. He didn't even want me to take care of her. How much more being her boyfriend?" Callisto said. "I understand you, brother. This time I won't tell Dad about your plans. But let me warn you: it will be big trouble if he knows it by himself," Ruth replied. "Yeah, I knew that. But don't worry. I will tell him at the right time," Callisto replied, putting his spoon and fork on his empty plate and walking towards the sink. "When?" Ruth asked, following her brother to the sink. "Sorry, but I can't tell you when, because the right time can't be predicted. It will come on its own, especially if we don't expect it," Callisto replied. "So you should go back to the table and finish your food because you're not a kid anymore." Ruth grumpily went back to the table, while Callisto got inside his room to pack his things. While putting his clothes inside a huge backpack, Callisto remembered his girlfriend—there was not a second that went by that he wasn't thinking about her. Callisto didn't know when he could see her again, nor did he know if he could see her again, but he hoped that the universe would allow them to continue their ongoing love story and that the next chapter would be beautiful. It was difficult for Callisto to leave Stalin, but he knew that Linley would take care of her as she promised. They were childhood friends in the first place, so there was no reason he wouldn't trust Linley. If he could only convince his father to stay a little longer, perhaps he could love Stalin more the way she deserved to be loved, but he also knew that no one could stop them from leaving, because their business was in the city. On the other hand, Sebastian went to their verandah and became curious as he began staring at the high mountain, which looked serene from a distance, but he knew it would never be as peaceful as it was, especially since it had witnessed a lot of tragedies. "My love, how I wish you were here now. I miss you so much." Sebastian sighed deeply, thinking about his wife. All he could do now was read all the letters she had left so that he wouldn't forget their love story. Sebastian could still hear Doroth's voice as if she were there beside him, telling him to stop staring at the mountain because it could only give him a headache. "Don't worry, my love, we're leaving this place, and we'll never take a glimpse at it," Sebastian promised. As daytime had gradually turned to night, Callisto climbed onto his bed, still thinking about Stalin. He couldn't be complacent that she would be just fine. He didn't even know where she went when she became a crazy girl. It was the last night of their vacation, but he still couldn't believe it. Callisto forced himself to sleep, even if his mind wouldn't stop thinking. He knew that seeing Stalin for the last time would only make him cry, so he had to stop himself from visiting her even if she was expecting to see him before he'd go. Before the sun could come out, Sebastian and Ruth were already inside their car, waiting for Callisto to come out of their house so that they could leave early and reach the city before the traffic could get terrible. "Son!" Sebastian called. "What are you still doing there?" Callisto was wearing his favorite clothes, a white tank top and gray shorts, when he heard their car's horn from outside. He knew it was his father who was so excited to go, so he hurriedly fastened his clothes and went out. He locked the door and got inside their car. "I thought you would not leave with us," Ruth said. "I'm just checking if there's something I left," Callisto replied. "Perhaps your heart," Ruth said sarcastically and chuckled at her own jokes, which made Callisto make a poker face. Sebastian slowly drove their old car. It seemed to be just yesterday when they arrived, and now they were leaving incomplete. Losing his wife was the worst thing that happened to him, and there was a missing piece in his heart. Callisto turned on the radio and listened to the music, but the sad song only made him think about Stalin. He had already become used to living with her craziness. It would surely be difficult for him to live without her. A few moments later, Callisto, Sebastian, and Ruth felt like the car had struck something. Consequently, Sebastian stepped on the brake and immediately got out to check what it was. "Goddammit!" Sebastian scowled. "Is she crazy?" "What's going on, Dad?" Callisto asked as he stepped out of the car. His eyes turned wide, seeing a familiar girl lying in front of their car with blood dripping from her head. "O my god! Stalin!" Callisto screamed, recognizing the girl. Callisto immediately holds Stalin in his arms. "Dad, please call an ambulance. She musn't die!"
