She knew the truth
Callisto realized what he had done as he made his way back home. He didn't mean to have sex with his girlfriend's best friend. He was just drunk, but he couldn't blame it all on alcohol, because he liked it too.
Callisto thought he was lucky when he entered their room because Stalin wasn't yet awake yet. He made no noise while picking his clothes from the closet.
"Where have you been?" Stalin asked.
Callisto was stunned for a while, surprised by Stalin's angry voice. He didn't want her to think that he had done something wrong, so he looked for a good alibi, but it was too late because Stalin saw him in a situation that made her doubt. There were kissing marks on his face and neck.
"Good morning, my love. I woke up early to prepare for school. I'm sorry for waking you up," Callisto said as he immediately picked up his clothes and went out.
Stalin was speechless. She didn't like what she was thinking about her boyfriend as she left the bed and got out of the room. She knew that he didn't go home last night, and she had no idea where he had been, and it seemed like he had no intention to tell her either.
Sebastian was lying on the couch when he saw Stalin get out of the house with an unreadable expression on her face. He wondered what happened, so he followed her to the verandah and asked.
"Callisto didn't go home last night, and he wasn't telling me either where he had been," Stalin said worriedly. "Something worse is I found him full of kiss marks."
"What the f*ck!" Sebastian cursed. "Did he get out and have sex with another girl?"
Even though Callisto was his own son, Sebastian couldn't tolerate him, especially now that he already has a girlfriend, and it was so shameful that he'd still look for another girl.
"Why are you talking about me?" Callisto asked them, but he didn't get an answer. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Callisto wondered why his father and girlfriend were looking at him like he was a demon. He still had no idea what he had done wrong, and they didn't tell him either, thinking that they wanted him to realize it by himself.
After eating his breakfast, Callisto went to school. He was confused why his father didn't take him and started to wonder what he had done wrong. As he walked inside the campus, he bumped into someone.
"What the hell!" She exclaimed as her things dropped on the ground. "Are you blind?"
As Callisto looked up, he saw a beautiful face that looked familiar. It was Delilah, Samson's girlfriend and also one of the most beautiful girls in their school.
"Callisto?" Delilah asked, as if her day had brightened up seeing his cute face. She smiled at him and acted calm. "I didn't mean to exclaim at you. I thought you were one of those boys who like to make trouble."
"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking on the way," Callisto responded, helping her pick up her things.
"Just forget about it. Are you going to your classroom?" Delilah asked, composing herself. "I just noticed: you and Linley are friends, right?"
"Yup, I'm going to my room, but I don't really want to be Linley's friend. I think she'd changed a lot," Callisto said.
"You're right. She's also not talking with us anymore; even Caroline told me that they don't have any communication either," Delilah replied. "Anyway, I have to go now."
As Delilah made her way to her classroom, Callisto wondered what was the connection between those things and Linley. He entered his classroom and took his favorite seat in the back, as he didn't want anyone to bother him.
However, he felt so unlucky when Linley sat next to him. He caught her looking at him as if he was another delicious food she wanted to taste, and he felt so uncomfortable with that, so he found an opportunity to stay away from her.
"Why are you avoiding me?" Linley chased after Callisto after the class. Her high heels couldn't catch up with the way she walked, the reason why she tripped. Fortunately, Callisto looked back and caught her in his arms. Their gazes met, and time moved slowly like that in a romance movie.
"Please get up, you're so heavy," Callisto said, noticing other students looking at them.
"I'm sorry! Please forgive me!" Linley pleaded, but Callisto acted like he didn't hear her nor did he care as he walked away like nothing had happened.
Linley didn't stop following Callisto until he stopped. He faced her with an annoyed expression on his face. He didn't like her in the first place; it was her who kept pushing herself on him despite how much he'd push her away.
"I'll forgive you, but please, keep your distance from me because I'm not the only guy in this world. Why won't you go with your boyfriend instead? You already knew that I have a girlfriend, but look what you did." Callisto was frustrated.
"After what you did to me, you'll treat me like this?" Linley asked. "I'm not a floor mat that after you used me, you'll just throw me away like nothing happened between us!"
"Shut up! Linley!" Callisto grasped her throat as if he could no longer hold his patience. "I never did wanted to have sex with a whore like you! So you better stay away from me if you don't want something bad happen to you!"
Linley felt like she couldn't breathe with the way Callisto held her neck. Tears fell down from her eyes. She didn't expect that Callisto would be this harsh, but she liked harsh men anyway; they were always her type, as she wanted them to feel the same way.
Callisto didn't want to kill a girl, so he let go of Linley before those students could report him to the cops. Then he hurriedly left her alone.
After a few moments, Callisto arrived at their house, and Linley wasn't following him anymore. Perhaps she was tired of chasing him, and he didn't care either. He entered the living room and found his younger sister sitting on the couch, watching television again.
"Why are you sweating?" Ruth asked.
"The weather is just warm," Callisto replied, wiping the sweat that dripped from his face and neck.
"Warm? But it's winter already," Ruth said.
"Okay. You won. You're older than me to be fooled, but please don't act like you're Mom." Callisto sighed. "I hope you won't tell my girlfriend if I tell you about this."
"I'm not Mom, but you can trust me," Ruth replied.
"Linley. Stalin's friend. You know her, right? Have you already met her before?" Callisto asked.
"The sexy girl who looks like a bamboo?" Ruth asked. "Yeah, I remembered her. What's wrong with her anyway?"
"She has changed. Last night, remember that person who visited here? It was Linley. She invited me to go to her friend's house, and—" Callisto stopped, as if he couldn't believe he was telling this to his sister.
"And what? Did she have a good time with you?" Stalin asked as she suddenly emerged behind them.
Callisto looked back and was surprised to see Stalin, who looked like she could kill someone. "Nope. We—"
"Can you stop lying to me, Callisto? I'm older than your sister, and how can you lie to your father? How can you lie to me? How can you lie to us? Did you even love me?" Stalin asked all the questions in her head while tears rolled down her eyes, down to her cheeks. "My best friend invited you to her friend's house, and you had sex, right?"
Callisto couldn't say anything. He stood up and cuddled Stalin, thinking that she really had amnesia, that she really forgot those beautiful memories, that she couldn't remember all the good times, only the bad times.
"I'm so sorry." Callisto tightened his embrace. "I didn't. I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say, but you're wrong in what you're thinking. I'm not fooling you. I didn't mean to lie. I love you more than anything else."
"But why? Why didn't you tell me about this?" Stalin asked while wiping the tears out of her face and pushing her boyfriend away.
"Why?" Callisto replied. "Why did you pretend to have amnesia? Why didn't you tell me that everything was just fine?"
"Can you stop changing the topic? I'm the one asking here. Why won't you answer all my questions first?!" Stalin shouted in rage.
"I know you don't trust me either. That's why you're thinking about that. But I would not deceive my girlfriend, no matter how crazy she is!" Callisto said.
"Hey!" Sebastian interrupted. He woke up hearing their loud voices from his room and wondered what was happening outside. "What's going on here?"
"Honestly, Dad, it was my mistake. I know everything that happened between them, their secrets, their plans, but I remained silent," Ruth replied.
"What do you mean, Ruth?" Sebastian asked. He carried Ruth and was about to bring her out because she was just a kid, and she shouldn't hear what they were talking about.
"Dad! Listen to me. Don't treat me like I'm a kid, because I'm not. Everyone's secrets are revealed. I also want to be frank," Ruth said in a serious tone of voice.
Sebastian was surprised at how his daughter would say things as if she'd already matured and knew a lot of things about them. He put her down on the floor and let her explain what was happening.
"Stalin doesn't have amnesia. She told me to back up her plan, which is to test how much Callisto loved her. Whereas, my brother, you're old enough to explain your side; you must explain that," Ruth said.
"What? Am I the only one who doesn't know these?" Sebastian interrupted, pretending he knew nothing. "Son, what's that thing that they are talking about?"
"Dad, I really didn't mean to lie. I thought it was just fine. I thought that you would scold me and hang me upside-down, though I'm not that little anymore. But we, Linley and I, We had sex that night," Callisto admitted.
"I understand—but you! How many times do I have to tell you not to let that itch decide your future?" Sebastian bridled up, then seriously walked towards his son.
"Dad, Dad, Dad, please don't pinch me!" Callisto begged.
"Who told you that I would pinch you if that's not enough?" Sebastian patted his son's shoulder, trying his best to hold himself back. "You should take the responsibility if you got her pregnant!"
"Is that all you can say, Dad? Your son had sex with another girl, and here you are, acting cool like he didn't do that much damage? What about me? Why are you not thinking about me? Am I just an ad for them? That when there's nothing left, I'll be a substitute?" Stalin wanted to ask these questions, but she remained silent, considering how much they took care of her, and she wasn't in the position to complain.
Stalin couldn't hold her tears back, so he left them and went inside her room. Callisto chased after her, trying to explain, but she locked herself inside and shouted that she needed some time to be alone.
"I was wrong. I don't totally know him. How could he do this to me? How could he hurt me so much?" Stalin wondered. She stood up with a crazy plan in her head. She stared at the blanket in her hand, then climbed to a large cabinet. She tied the blanket to the ceiling.Download Novelah App
