She was spacing out when her husband went out for work, "What should I do?" she asked herself. She was trying to figure out on something while her son was playing. She has many what if that time on her mind because all she had right now was just a favor from Dreos, her life, her son and husband's safety.
She was shocked when someone appeared beside her;
"Are you wanted to talk on something?" he asked
She just looked at him and gave a sad eyes, "I don't know if it will be possible for my wish" she asked then she lay her head in the table
"You know that rules right?" he said
She simply nodded, "But I don't need someone to kill for my selfish wish or gonna be killed and will be forgotten for all their lives" she looked to their family picture
He crossed his leg, "but that was the rule of this survival game" he said "if you wanted I will offer you something" he said
She was surprised, "But, it will be unfair for the other players if you always gave favor to me" she said
He smiled, "Can I have a glass of water?" he asked
Angela immediately stood up and get a glass of water for him then she handed it to him, "I'm sorry, I forgot to offer you something" she said
"Thank you" he said then Angela sat down again;
"What would be the favor exchange for your condition" she asked
He looked at her seriously, "Be one of the gods" he answered
She can't understand what he meant, "What? you are offering me to be like you?" she was very nervous about it knowing that if she will accept it, she will held this damn survival game.
He stood up, "Don't worry I will give you an ample time to think" he said then he walked away
She think about it many times as she can because its all about life and death, if she will choose his offer she will be a part of this insane game and if not, her family will be gone "What should I do?" she asked
Xian approached her and pulling the hem of his dress, "Mama" he said, giving a paper with a flower drew in it "I love you, Mama" he said and he hugged his mother so tight
In that hug, she suddenly burst to tears "I love you too, my baby" she hugged him so tight
Xian was confused, "Mama are you crying?" he asked
She wiped her tears, "No, Mama is not crying" she smiled "Are you hungry now?" she stood up and held her son's hand then walked towards the kitchen to make some foods for him. As she hears his little Xian's voice, she can't resist the thought that she wanted to accept Dreos offer but as she see the every player's situation and even the rules of the survival game, she can't stop thinking about it. This decision made her sick, she doesn't want to hurt anyone anymore but she can't loose her family either. She also tried to hide it from her husband but it made her sic for more weeks.
Her husband was filed a sick leave for him to take care his wife, "Are you alright now?" he brought some soup for her in the bedroom
She sat properly for her to eat, "I'm fine now" she answered
He scoop a spoonful and blew it the he fed her, "The doctor told me that you were sick because of stress, are you thinking on something?" he asked while mixing another spoon
She can't answer his question because she was never allowed to discuss him about the survival game.
He just smiled, "I have a feeling that you wanted to say something about your stress but I will not force you to tell it to me, I will wait the time that you tell me about it" he said then he continuing feeding his weak wife
She just looked at him, thinking what she can do or if he can help her to decide to what will her decision. Days have passed, she decided to tell her what she can do about it. When Damian visited her again in their bedroom, she motioned him to sat down next to her, "I want to ask you something" she said
He immediately sat down, "What is it?" he asked like he was very excited to know about it
She felt so much nervous and she didn't know how she will start. There were so much silence in the next couple of minutes until she clear her throat and started to talk to him, "Damian, I wanted to ask you on your position" she said seriously
He scratch his head a little, "Darling, I am not used that you are so serious like now" he trying to laugh to break the serious ambiance but still Angela didn't mind it.
She clenched her fist holding her blanket, "Sweetie, if someone asked you, he will promote you in the highest position but you needed to kill everyone that may hinder you, you will accept it?" she asked
He think about it, "If it will happen, I will tell him that I don't need the position" he answered "I'd rather to be in the lowest position forever than to kill someone" he added
She was saddened to his answer, "Yes, that was easy as that because its just a position" she said in her mind "What if, because you didn't accept the position that man will kill us?" she asked again
He thought about that so serious, "If that is the case, I will not accept the offer" he said "I know that everyone of us has families, and I know that everyone of loves our family so much" he said with a teary eye
She felt that his heart became sad and heavy, "I'm sorry about it, someone asked me that question too" she just looked to her blanket
"What was your answer?" he asked curiously
She looked at him, "I didn't say any word about it because it is very difficult to me to choose" she said
He hugged her, "Always remember that always choose the things that will be for the best for everyone, because it is a better way to release the sadness that we have in our heart" he said "if we kill for our selfish wish, someone will got hurt and you can't heal the wound to their heart but you can fine a cure for your own wound because you know yourself very well" he added
She can't held her tears more because of his answer, she can't believed that her husband always think for other's sake than to his. After that talk, she always have a time for him and for her son like it was their last day together. She cooked all Damian's favorite food, she always insisted to her husband to have walk with their son. At that moment, Damian can't understand everything because Angela became so caring to them that's like she will die the next day so he confront his wife.
"Angela, please be honest with me" he can't calm down "is there something I need to know?" he asked
She smiled but her eyes has tears, "I will die on the next week, and I wanted to spend quality time with you in my remaining days" she answered
He can't believed it, "But the doctor told me that you are fine and you are not ill" he answered
She can't looked in his eyes, "I'm sorry, I requested to the doctor not to tell you" she answered
He was totally frustrated about it, "It is a lie right?" he burst in tears but still he pretending that his wife didn't tell anything about anything "You are just joking right? Like the time we are looking for you" he held her in the shoulders "please tell me, you are just joking right?" he begging for her answer
She averted her gaze, "I'm sorry" she ran towards to the another room and locked the room. Her husband tried to follow her but she didn't open the door even her husband begged so badly.
Her husband just looked for their son if he is quietly sleeping but in his heart, he wanted to be with his wife more days and he wanted to die on her place. Inside the room that the light was only a dim light, Lilith cried bitterly. In her thoughts she wanted to be with her family as long as she live but her husband has a point to his answers, she can bear to see someone was suffering because of her selfish wish. The next few days, Damian treat her like a queen and he file for a leave in a month to take care her wife. They enjoyed the another seven days happily before the time Angela will die because of the illness she have. Everything was so much fine until the evening comes, Angela checked if his husband was totally asleep when she confirmed that he soundly sleeping she changed her clothes. When everything was ready, she went to the park were she always Dreos;
Dreos walked towards her, "So you have your answer now" he said
Her tears dripping to her face, "Yes, I have my answer now" she said
He looked at her, "Through your expression, I can guess that you reject my offer, right Ninth?" he said
She nodded while her tears flowing in her cheeks, "We rather die with a conscience with a hope that we will meet in the next life" she answered
He laugh so sarcastically, "Oh my, wait you make me laugh" he keep on laughing, "Wait? are you saying that I have no conscience, I just wanted to grant your selfish wish so I made this game" he added
She was very nervous that time, she felt frightened to his words like he became an insane man "I will not accept your offer" she keeps on crying
He suddenly stopped from laughing, "Congratulations, you defeat me" he said
She was very shocked to his answer, " What? What happened, you are not take back all I have in the present?" she asked
He shook his head, "No, because you defeated me" he answered again "I thought that you will be here and then you tell me that you will accept my offer but instead you beg for your family , you beg to be killed in able not to hurt anyone" he added
She still shocked to his answer, "So it means you will not kill my family or even I?" she clarify
"I will take my leave now" he turned his back and started to walk away "You are still my secretary, please look for the remaining players of this game" he ordered and vanished in the dark
She was alone in the park with a cold breeze, with a dim light light and she can't believe that she still alive. She fell down in her knees, "Is this real?" she started to cry, she didn't stood up until her husband saw her;
He was very worried when he saw his wife knelt down on the ground, crying "Are you alright?" he squatted and looked to her "Are you hurt?,Angela answer me" he asked again
She looked at him with a teary eye, "Damian, is that you?" she asked "Why are you here? Where's Xian, is he okay?" she asked again
He helped her to stand up, "I felt that you are not sleeping next to me so that I search you inside the house but I noticed that your shoes was not in shoe rack" he answered "Xian was still sleeping, I gave a bottle of milk in case he will woke up before I came back" he explained "What you doing here?" he asked
"I am so thankful to see you alive and well, I will never leave you" she hugged him so tight and cried "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" she said
Even he didn't understand what happen, he just caressed her hair "Let's go back, I have to work tomorrow" he said
Angela didn't explain what happen to her, she was very thankful that she still have her family. For her that is the family thought her everything about life so that its better to die if everything she has will gone but she defeated the selfish god with the kind heart where Damian taught her.
