Daniel Orposel, also known as Tenth is the chief of police in Nagisa City where Damian and Angela lived in the present. Since the day his wife left him, he raised his own son alone. His son was very happy when his father have a one day with him, they go everywhere he wanted to go until one day he collapsed and sent to the hospital for emergency.
Daniel was worried that time, he just think about his only son's health status until the doctor checked him went out. He approached the doctor immediately, "How's my son?" he asked worriedly
The doctor just looked at him, "Follow me please" they walked towards the doctor's office "have a seat Sir" he said
Daniel that time was very nervous on how the doctor talked to him, "Doctor, is there any problem with my son?" he asked
He sighed first, "I will be honest with you Sir, your child has a brain tumor" he pull off the papers from the laboratory results "but its not severe for now, you can do at this time as his father is to support him in everything" he suggested
He was very anxious thinking that he was a worthless father, he didn't noticed that the only person in his life was ill. He went to his child's room pretending that everything was fine. He sat down on the chair next to his bed, "Hey buddy, are you okay now?" he pretending to be cool
He smiled, "Yes Daddy! I'm totally fine!" he answered energetically "Daddy, when we go out?" he asked
He tapped his head, "The doctor told me that you will be discharged by tomorrow, you need to rest here only this day" he answered
Clarence saddened, "But Dad, I wanted to go to the new themed park nearby" he said trying to convince his Dad "I wanted to have a new toy there so bad" he added
Daniel stood up, "I'll be back later, I just went home to get some of your things" he said
"But Dad, I will discharge tomorrow, right?" he asked "so why should you needed to bring some of my stuffs here?" he asked
He realized that his son is smart, "Because you need to change your clothes tomorrow, right?" he answered "I'll be back immediately, promise" then he left
Clarence just looking to his window, he felt that something wrong about it.
When he arrived to his house, he went inside then cry bitterly. He keeps on blaming himself on what happened to his son and he can't do anything about it, "I wish I am the one have that" he said. At that moment, he can't find the answer if that will be a curse or something to do with karma. He cried a lot that night until he didn't notice that he fell asleep in the ground then someone woke him up.
"Hey, Daniel wake up" a man said
When he opened his eyes, he was frightened that someone came in knowing that his door was locked, "Who are you?" he asked trying to find his gun
"Just calm down, I can grant your wish" he answered
"What? Who are you? Are you a genie or god to grant my wish?" he asked madly
"No, you can make your wish come true through your efforts basically" he answered
He just looked at him like a drunk man, "Just stopped it, you are not a genie nor a god to grant my wish" he said trying to sleep again but he can't
He looked at him, "You can't go back to sleep because this is my space" he said "if you change your mind, you can talk to me by this" he put a sketchbook on the floor then he opened the door and left
Daniel woke up like he was having a nightmare, he sighed deeply "I knew, its just a dream" as he looked to his side, he saw the sketchbook that the man left for him. He was a little bit scared about it but if he truly exist he can help his son to recover. He tried to contact the man in black who talked to him in dream. After a day and another, he wait for the man's reply and then one day he talked to him again.
"So you are looking for me this past few days?" the man asked
He cleared his throat to make him calm, "Yes, I wanted to know about this and about the you can grant my wish for real" he said
At that time they were in a cafe, "Have a seat" the man pointing the chair opposite to him
He sat down looked for the menu, "Can I order a coffee before we talk?" he asked
"Sure" he answered, he called the waiter to take their orders "by the way, I am known to be Dreos" he introduced himself "I am not a genie nor a god, but for this game you can call me the game master" he explained
"So what was the rule of this game?" Daniel asked
Their coffee was already served, "You can choose between the two, you will be killed or you gonna kill" he sipped the newly served coffee
He thought about it because he has a promise to protect someone, he chose to be a policeman since he was a child to protect everyone and captured those who against the law but this time is different. The game that made his son completely cured but his life or others life was at stake "I don't want to kill anyone for my selfish wish" he protest
Dreos just looked at him, "What will you do? If you are thinking that it may cause damages or their parents will left alone, this game has another rule to keep the world balance" he said
He was sweating so much as if there was more miserable about this game, "What is it?" he asked
He put down the cup its saucer, "No one will remember you, and even your existence" he answered " the only person who can remember you is the one who defeat you or a player that known you well and had a special attachment to you" he answered
In Daniel's mind, he thought some events that may happen or it will happen if someone will defeat him "I want to ask if the other players know each others identity?" he asked
He shook his head, "its game's privacy we will held some meetings in the other days, see you then Tenth" he stood up and left
Daniel sat down there for a while, thinking about somethings that he gain before someone killed him. After minutes of thinking, he came up to an idea that he will apply as private investigator for the rich to save some money for his son. He met many rich people, including Harold Sy and the family of Yuri which he didn't know that they are part of the survival game. He just shut his mouth about his standing in the game as the Tenth. He save so much money with Mr. Sy every time he gave information about Sebastian, Penelope and other players of the game. At first he has only a hunch that he was part of the game but he confirmed it when he saw a sketchbook like he has at the present that made him nervous.
Harold noticed that he was shaking, "Are you alright Mr. Investigator?" he asked arrogantly
He just smiled, "Yes Sir, I felt some chills on my back" he answered "I'm sorry for my behavior, do you have anything to include to this investigation?" he asked trying to be calm
Harold think if he has something forgot to include, "For now that's what I need" he said
He stood up with respect, "I'll go now Sir, thank you" he turned his back and left. When he reached the outside he sighed with relief thinking if Harold Sy will know that he was a part of the game, it is the end of everything for him and also for his son. His identity was hide until he met Lilith by glance, he was captivated to her beauty not knowing she was the notorious terrorist that they looking for until the time he knew that she was Angela, the wife of Damian, one of his underlings. Daniel attended the emergency meeting in the Twelve tower of gods, thinking what happened because it was an emergency meeting. He was very shocked when the rules were changed because of some interests and some violations made .
Dreos reveals their faces and he knew that everyone who Harold Sy ordered to him to investigate was there. Everyone was at shocked when everything was change, all their plans to kill First and Second was messed up. When Daniel observed everyone, they have a grudge to Second because she was the one who mostly violates the rules. He looked around trying to find someone that he can trust about his only wish. When he looked around, the only one he can trust is Penelope and Sebastian so he went to their house to talk to them.
One morning, Penelope and Sebastian was very surprised about it. Daniel told them about his plan.
Sebastian was surprised that he trusted them all his bank accounts and he tell them about his son, "But why you are telling these things to us?" he asked
He looked at them, "Because I know I can trust you with this" he answered
Penelope cannot believe that one of the selfish players was in front of them to ask favor, "How can we trust you?" she asked
He gave them a picture of his with his son, "He is Clarence, he is my only son" he started "he was diagnosed with a brain tumor at this time it was not severe yet but I wanted to live him a long life, so please help me" he bowed his head so low
Sebastian embarrassed about it, "Please raise your head Sir, we are not worthy to it" he tried to stopped him but he still bowed his head,
"Please help me, I didn't ask you a favor to save me to win this game but please save my son whatever happens" he plead "I know the rule that once someone will kill me, no one can remember me even my only son so I'm asking you two once I got killed please tell him that he has a father that he love him so much" then he gave to them his savings book, all his savings was written them and named to his son
Sebastian can't believe about it, "You can kill those who threaten you because you are a policeman" he said
He shook his head, "I am a policeman after all, I promised that I will protect those who needed protection, I am not the one who will break it" he explained
Penelope looked at it and she was amazed that he save that much, "Is this all for your son?" she asked
"Yes, so please help my son once I've been defeated" he said "I received threats from one of the players but since the rules was changed, and I thank you Miss Penelope for that" he smiled "so please once no one can remember about me, give these to my son and look after him" he said
Sebastian nodded, "We will" he answered with a heavy heart because one of this days maybe Tenth will be killed.
In the next day, Daniel always visit Clarence with them in the hospital its his way in able to Penelope and Sebastian will care to his precious only son. They exchanging jokes, stories and happiness that make Sebastian attached more to him because his father was died when he was young. Everyday, that's there routine after school Penelope and Sebastian visited Clarence but the day before he was discharged, a bad news came to them.
Sebastian greeted Clarence so loud, "Hey Rence, you will be discharge now" he said with a wide smile
Clarence looked at him also, "Hello Sebastian" he greeted back "I will discharge today" he answered
"Are you waiting for your father to send you home?" he asked
He thought about it, "Maybe you are kidding Sebastian, I am an orphan since I was five " he went back to what he was doing
Those words break his heart so much that made him cry.
Clarence was confused to his attitude, "What happened?" Are you hurt?" he asked
He tried to keep his tears more, "Nothing, I am happy that you are fine now" he answered
Penelope wanted to comfort him but she can't because it will an awkward for him.
Sebastian took something from his bag, "Clarence, someone wanted to give this to you" he handed the bank book to him
He was confused again, "Who gave this?" he asked then he opened and he was surprised about the amount
He tried to smile even his heart mourned, "That's from your father, he was died yesterday to a operation far away" he explained "he was a good friend of us, before he go he asked us to give it to once something happened to him" he added
Even Clarence can't remember anything about his father, he can feel the pain, grieved and sadness. The most rude rule of the game, "NO ONE WILL REMEMBER YOU ONCE YOU ARE DEFEATED"
