Raya' POV
I started to become more busier as the days goes by, I can barely open my social medias because aside from my schoolwork, I'm also starting to enjoy my new environment so instead of spending time on social media, I started to go for a run or walk once a day before or after my classes. As for my family I always message them before going to bed, but I barely talk to my friends now.
"One medium chocolate milk and a small yogurt bowl please," I just went for a morning run and decided to eat outside, it's still 7am and my class will start at 9 so I still have a plenty of time, exam just finished so it means I don't have to stress myself anymore, well at least for today.
After finishing my breakfast, I headed back to my dorm to take a shower and do some advance reading for my class later. After a while I decided to open my canvas to check my grades on my past activities, which I'm glad to check because one of my professors just uploaded another task, I have to make research about swine flu, I've never heard of it before, and the paper is due two weeks from now, but I want to start it right away.
When I got tired, I checked the time it's only 8:25, I used that small time to check my social media and message my family.
"Good morning" our professor greeted us and proceed on writing something on the board.
These past months I've been away from home, it feels nice and refreshing. Yes, I have a lovely family back there but spending time alone and learning how to figure things out on your own, is the best experience I've been experiencing. To be honest, being alone have taught me a lot of lesson, and the beauty of it is what I've been longing for.
Going for a walk, or going on a solo date, or just simply me doing my own thing had been my coping mechanism when I'm missing home, I do not dare on messaging or calling my family nor friends because I know I'm just going to miss home more. there are 3 more months left before summer break, gladly I don't need to take summer classes, even so, I still decided to go back home and stay there for only three weeks, I still have so many plans on my bucket list that hasn't been checked so I want to work on that. One thing about me is that I want to live my teenage life to the fullest, or simply my single life, even if I admit it or not, I still have to marry, and I want to get married and have a family of my own.
"Do you have plans tonight?" Chia asked me when she saw me sitting at one of the benches under a tree. As far as I know, I don't have important plans for tonight, "none, why?" I replied to her while looking directly into her as she sits beside me. She took a deep breath and exhaled dramatically, "do you want to study together after dinner?" she asked me, thinking about it I realized, studying with someone would be helpful when I needed assistance or I have a question, besides, Chiara and I have already built a strong bond, I already treat her as my sister. "sure" I then responded as I nod like a kid, this kind of bonding makes it easy for me to feel comfortable around people.
Chiara and I are almost the same, both of us loves reading and spending time studying or just simply romanticizing life, we don't need to meet or bond every day, really, but she's not that introverted as me. One thing I love being her friend is that she has this high emotional intelligence which makes it easier for me to be with her, she also sometimes helps me with the topic I'm having a hard time with, I do the same for her.
After sitting there for a while, sharing how was our day going so far, she then stood up and waved at me "well then, I have to go on my next class already, see you later" she said, "see you later" I then replied. I stayed there for a bit longer before I decided to go back to my dorm, I still have three hours before my next class, so I have plenty of time to start my research about swine flu.
"I will be going back a week after the classes are over, ma." My mom called suddenly after I got back to my dorm, she told me that I should go back as soon as the classes are over, but I can't yet since I still have some things I want to do. "Ok then, we will be having a family reunion on my side of the family, it was originally scheduled five days after your vacation, I will just ask them to move it so we can be complete." Complete, meaning my cousins and other extended family abroad will be coming home this time.
