Chapter 9 - The Beginning
As Cheska navigated her high school years with a quiet determination, she found herself drawn to a diverse group of friends who would become her closest allies as she embarked on her journey through the halls of the University of Caloocan City.
Among them was Isha Belen, a ray of sunshine whose infectious laughter and boundless energy never failed to brighten Cheska's day. Despite their contrasting personalities, Cheska found solace in Isha's unwavering optimism and genuine kindness, forming a friendship that would withstand the tests of time.
Kim Barreto emerged as a steadfast companion, always ready to offer a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on whenever Cheska needed support. With her loyalty and unwavering devotion, Kim became an integral part of Cheska's inner circle, a trusted confidante who stood by her through thick and thin.
In Bea Aquino, Cheska discovered a kindred spirit whose sincerity and integrity mirrored her own. Their shared values and mutual respect laid the foundation for a bond built on trust and understanding, forging a friendship that would endure even the toughest of challenges.
And then there was Sheynna Galinada, whose vivacious personality and animated storytelling added a vibrant dynamic to Cheska's life. With her quick wit and lively banter, Sheynna brought laughter and joy into every interaction, infusing Cheska's days with a sense of excitement and adventure.
Together, Cheska and her newfound friends embarked on countless adventures, navigating the ups and downs of high school life with laughter, tears, and unwavering support for one another. As they stood on the cusp of a new chapter at the University of Caloocan City, Cheska couldn't help but feel grateful for the friendships that had shaped her into the person she had become, and excited for the adventures that lay ahead with Isha, Kim, Bea, and Sheynna by her side.
As Cheska and her friends made their way to the cafeteria, the topic of conversation naturally turned to the school counselors, Marvin, Alex, Allysa, and Benedict, who played a significant role in guiding and supporting the students through their high school journey.
Isha: (excitedly) Did you guys hear about the new counseling program Marvin's implementing next semester? It's supposed to focus on mental health and well-being.
Kim: (nodding in approval) Yeah, I heard about that. It's about time we had something like that in place. High school can be so stressful, and having resources to help us cope is crucial.
Bea: (thoughtfully) I agree. Mental health is just as important as physical health, if not more so. I'm glad the school is finally recognizing that and taking steps to address it.
Sheynna: (curiously) What about Alex and Allysa? Have they mentioned any new initiatives they're working on?
Cheska: (thinking for a moment) Well, I know Allysa's been organizing workshops on study skills and time management. She wants to help students improve their academic performance and reduce stress levels.
Isha: (impressed) That's awesome! I could definitely use some tips on managing my workload more effectively.
Kim: (chuckling) Yeah, I think we all could. Senior year is no joke.
Bea: (smiling) And what about Benedict? Any word on what he's been up to?
Cheska: (shrugging) Not sure, to be honest. He tends to keep a low profile, but I'm sure he's doing his part to support students in his own way.
Sheynna: (nodding in agreement) Yeah, Benedict may not be as vocal as the others, but he's always there when you need him. He's like the silent guardian of the counseling team.
As they reached the cafeteria and joined the bustling crowd of students, Cheska and her friends continued their discussion about the important role the school counselors played in their lives. From providing academic guidance to offering emotional support, Marvin, Alex, Allysa, and Benedict were instrumental in helping them navigate the challenges of high school and prepare for the future ahead.
While ordering food at the cafeteria Cheska notices juniors who are 1 year younger than her fighting in the cafeteria including Marvin's brother, Logan.
Logan: What's up f*ckers!!
Lee: Stay away from that chair stupid a*shole
Constantine: (Deadly taring at Logan)
Logan: What's your problem prick? You wanna fight?
Constantine: Sorry I'm not looking at your ugly face
Logan: Acting tougher huh? Do you think you look cool?
Hillarion: Tine we need to go they're not an ordinary student
Constantine: What do you mean?
Hillarion: Logan is the brother of one of the student council in this school, so fighting them will make you guilty in the end
Logan: That's right i'am the brother of one of the student council so take your ass up with your friend and go back to your mother's ovary f*ckers
Constantine: Did you just call my friend a PRICK??!!
Hillarion: Hey it's okay just leave him
Logan: Yes and what your gonna do for that PRICK?
Lennon: Hey Logan can you please stop bullying for just a day?
Logan: Don't disturb our conversation Lennon go get out of here
Lennon: I can't do that
Logan: And why?
Lennon: Those 2 is my friend can you please leave them?
Logan: Whisper(Your lucky lennon is here. We're not dome prick) Okay okay I'll leave
Lee: I can't believe to that guy who is he?
Logan: Our next target
Lee: Oh it's gonna be fun!
Logan: Let's leave here, I lost my appetite
Lee: Next to you brother
As Cheska and her friends queued up to order their food at the cafeteria, their attention was momentarily diverted by a commotion unfolding nearby. A group of juniors, including Marvin's brother Logan, were engaged in a heated argument that threatened to escalate into a physical altercation.
Isha: (furrowing her brows) What's going on over there?
Cheska: (watching the scene unfold) Looks like some of the juniors are having a disagreement. And... wait, is that Logan?
Kim: (disappointed) Ugh, not again. I thought Logan promised Marvin he'd stay out of trouble this semester.
Bea: (shaking her head) It's disappointing to see him getting into fights like this. He's better than that.
Sheynna: (sighing) I hope Marvin doesn't hear about this. He's been working so hard to improve the school's reputation, and Logan's behavior reflects poorly on him.
Cheska: (turning to her friends) Do you guys know who that is? The one standing up to Logan?
Kim: (nodding) Yeah, his name's Constantine. He transferred here recently from another school.
Isha: (watching Constantine with interest) He seems pretty brave, standing up to Logan like that.
Cheska: (thoughtfully) I wonder what's going on between them. It seems like there's some history there.
As they finally reached the front of the line and placed their orders, Cheska couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Constantine's story than met the eye, and she couldn't help but wonder what role he would play in the days to come at their school.
As Cheska and her friends gathered their belongings and prepared to head home, Cheska's gaze wandered around the bustling hallway, searching for any sign of Constantine. And there he was, standing near the entrance, his expression unreadable as he talked to a group of students.
Cheska's heart skipped a beat at the sight of him, her curiosity piqued by their earlier encounter in the cafeteria. She glanced back at her friends, who were engrossed in their conversation, unaware of her sudden distraction.
Isha: (excitedly) So, are we still on for movie night at my place tomorrow?
Kim: (smiling) Definitely! I've been looking forward to it all week.
Bea: (nodding) Count me in too. I could use a good laugh after today.
Sheynna: (grinning) It's a date then! Movie night with the besties.
Cheska: (Staring at Constantine)
Hillarion: Hey Constantine let's go home together
Constantine: Sorry i got a service
Hillarion: Oh that's sad
Lennon: It's okay we can go home together ion
Hillarion: Don't call me in that name it sounds depressing
Lennon: HAHAHA why? ion sounds cute right Constantine?
Constantine: Yes it's cute
Hillarion: Nah that's bull-
Lennon: Bull what?
Hillarion: Bullfrog
Constantine:HAHAHAHA

Constantine: Hey i taught you'll gonna be late to come home?
Li: I finished everything done in a quick time so our boss sent me home, let's go home
Constantine: Okay fine.
Lennon: Hey is that your sister?
Constantine: Yes... why?
Lennon: She looks beauti-
Constantine: Shut up dude i don't want you to be my brother

Li: How long will i wait for you to get in the car Constantine?!
Constantine: I'm sorry sis! So guys I'm gonna go home see you tomorrow
Lennon: Bye!
Hillarion: Bye!
Cheska forced herself to focus on her friends' conversation, but her mind kept drifting back to Constantine. She wondered what he was like outside of the tense atmosphere of the cafeteria, and what had led him to stand up to Logan in the first place.
As they made their way towards the exit, Cheska stole one last glance at Constantine, who seemed to sense her gaze and met her eyes briefly before turning away. A jolt of nervous energy coursed through Cheska's veins, leaving her feeling both exhilarated and apprehensive about the encounter.
She followed her friends out of the school, the image of Constantine lingering in her mind, a silent reminder of the intrigue and uncertainty that awaited her in the days to come.Download Novelah App
