Chapter3: Trials of the Wild

Scene 1: Building a Home
Levy trudged through the thick forest, his eyes scanning the surroundings for anything that could help him survive. His encounter with the terrifying beast at the lake was still fresh in his mind, and it had left him with a burning desire to get stronger.
"This place... it's nothing like the games I used to play. It's real. Every decision I make could mean life or death. I can't afford to mess up," Levy thought, his grip tightening on his wooden sword.
After hours of searching, he stumbled upon a small clearing in the heart of the forest. The area was surrounded by towering trees, providing natural protection, and a small stream trickled nearby, offering a fresh water source.
"This could work," Levy thought as he surveyed the area. "It’s not much, but it’s a start. I need to build something, somewhere I can rest and plan my next move."
Using his wooden sword, Levy chopped down trees and gathered materials. The sword, though simple and dull, felt natural in his hand, cutting through the wood with surprising ease.
"This sword... it's more than just a weapon. It’s like an extension of myself," Levy mused as he worked, a small smile tugging at his lips. "I might not have the best tools, but I’ll make it work."
Over the next few days, Levy built a modest cabin. It was nothing fancy—just four walls and a roof—but it was sturdy and would keep him safe from the elements.
"It’s not much, but it’s home," Levy thought, standing back to admire his work. "This is where it all begins. From here, I'll get stronger. I’ll survive this world and whatever it throws at me."
Scene 2: The Wolf Pack
Levy knew that building a home was just the first step. He needed to train, to get stronger, and that meant facing the dangers of the forest head-on. One morning, while exploring, Levy encountered his first real challenge—a pack of wolves.
The wolves were massive, with black fur and glowing eyes that seemed to pierce through the darkness of the forest. They circled him, growling low and baring their fangs.
"Wolves... I've faced these in games before, but this is different. This is real. If I mess up, I’m done for," Levy thought, feeling a mix of fear and excitement.
As the wolves lunged at him, Levy’s instincts kicked in. He dodged to the side, his wooden sword swinging in a quick arc. The blade connected with one of the wolves, cutting into its side, but it wasn’t enough to bring it down.
"They’re fast, but I’m faster. I just need to stay focused, keep moving," Levy thought, his heart pounding in his chest. "I can’t let them corner me."
The battle was intense, with Levy constantly moving, dodging the wolves’ attacks and striking whenever he saw an opening. Despite the fear gnawing at the back of his mind, he felt a strange thrill—this was what he had trained for in countless games, but now, it was real.
"I’m not just fighting for points or levels... I’m fighting for my life," Levy thought as he struck down the last wolf. He stood over the fallen creatures, panting heavily, but victorious.
As the adrenaline began to fade, Levy felt a surge of energy within him, as if he had just leveled up in a game. His mind buzzed with excitement as a new skill awakened within him: the Wolf Fang Sword Technique—a quick and powerful move inspired by the wolves’ ferocity.
"I did it... I really did it. This world works like a game, but the stakes are so much higher. I need to keep pushing myself. This is just the beginning."
Scene 3: The Orc’s Challenge
Levy’s confidence grew after his victory over the wolves, but he knew the forest held even greater dangers. One day, while exploring deeper into the woods, Levy encountered an orc—a massive, brutish creature with green skin and bulging muscles.
The orc towered over Levy, its eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and malice. It let out a low chuckle as it raised a heavy club, ready to strike.
"This thing is huge... way bigger than anything I’ve faced before," Levy thought, his grip tightening on his sword. "But I can’t back down. If I run, I’ll never get stronger."
The orc swung its club with tremendous force, aiming to crush Levy in one blow. Levy dodged just in time, the ground shaking as the club smashed into the earth.
"That was close... too close," Levy thought, his heart racing. "This isn’t just about speed. I need to figure out how to break through its defenses."
The battle raged on, with Levy using his agility to avoid the orc’s powerful swings. But no matter how hard he tried, his wooden sword barely left a mark on the orc’s tough skin.
"I’m not doing enough damage. I need to think... There’s got to be a way to turn this around," Levy thought as he narrowly avoided another crushing blow.
Realizing he needed to take the fight up a notch, Levy decided to unleash the skill he had gained from the wolves. As the orc lunged at him again, Levy focused his energy into the Wolf Fang Sword Technique. He moved with the same ferocity and speed as the wolves, striking the orc’s vulnerable spots with precision.
The orc roared in pain as Levy’s attack cut through its thick hide. The powerful technique was enough to stagger the orc, making it drop its guard for just a moment.
"Now’s my chance!" Levy thought, seizing the opportunity to strike. But even with the Wolf Fang Sword Technique, the orc was still tough, and the battle dragged on.
As the fight continued, Levy realized he needed even more power. He couldn’t just rely on speed and precision; he needed raw force to break through the orc’s defenses.
Drawing on all his remaining strength, Levy focused his energy into a new technique. He swung his sword with all his might, not to cut, but to shatter.
“Dull Storm Edge!” Levy shouted as he unleashed the powerful move.
The force of the blow was incredible. The orc’s club shattered under the impact, and the shockwave sent the orc crashing to the ground. The Dull Storm Edge was a technique that could break through even the toughest defenses, shattering anything in its path.
Levy stood over the defeated orc, breathing heavily. He had created a new technique, one that combined both force and precision. But he knew there were still more challenges ahead.
"I did it... but I can’t stop here. I need to keep getting stronger. I need to be ready for whatever comes next."
Scene 4: Training the New Skills
Back at his cabin, Levy knew he needed to practice his newly acquired skills before facing any more powerful foes. He ventured into the forest, seeking out low-level beasts to test his abilities.
"These new techniques... I need to master them if I’m going to survive here," Levy thought as he walked through the dense
forest, his eyes scanning for any signs of movement. "The Wolf Fang Sword Technique is fast, but I need to make it faster. The Dull Storm Edge is powerful, but I need to control it better."
It wasn’t long before Levy encountered a group of low-level beasts—small, agile creatures with sharp claws and teeth. They weren’t as intimidating as the wolves or the orc, but they were quick and aggressive.
"Perfect practice targets," Levy thought, gripping his wooden sword tightly. "Time to see what these new skills can do."
As the beasts charged at him, Levy’s body moved instinctively, his mind focused on refining his techniques. He unleashed the Wolf Fang Sword Technique, his blade slicing through the air with lightning speed. The first beast was taken down with a single, precise strike.
"Not bad... but I can do better," Levy thought, adjusting his stance as the remaining beasts closed in. He shifted his weight, moving with the same fluid grace as the wolves, and struck again. This time, he was faster, more accurate, taking down two beasts in quick succession.
But it wasn’t just speed he needed. The next wave of beasts was tougher, their hides thicker and more resilient. Levy knew this was the perfect opportunity to test the Dull Storm Edge.
"Focus... control the force," Levy reminded himself, feeling the energy build up in his body. As the toughest beast lunged at him, Levy unleashed the Dull Storm Edge, swinging his sword with all his might.
The impact was devastating. The shockwave from the strike not only shattered the beast’s defenses but also sent it flying backward, crashing into a tree with a thunderous noise.
"That’s it... I’m getting the hang of it," Levy thought, a sense of satisfaction washing over him. "But I still have a long way to go. These are just small fry compared to what’s out there."
For the next few days, Levy continued his training, battling various low-level beasts and refining his techniques. He practiced the Wolf Fang Sword Technique until it became second nature, a blur of motion and precision. The Dull Storm Edge was harder to master, but with each practice swing, Levy felt more in control of its destructive power.
"I’m getting stronger... I can feel it," Levy thought as he stood among the fallen beasts, his body drenched in sweat but his spirit soaring. "But I know there’s still so much more to learn. This world is full of challenges, and I’m going to face them all head-on."
Scene 5: The Lizard Beast Approaches
Levy’s training had paid off, and he felt more confident in his abilities. But his greatest challenge yet was lurking just beyond the trees—a lizard beast, a lower version of a dragon, but still a fearsome foe.
The lizard beast was massive, with scales that shone like polished armor and eyes that glowed with a fiery intensity. It moved with a dangerous grace, its long tail whipping through the air as it prowled through the forest, searching for prey.
"That thing... it’s like nothing I’ve ever faced before," Levy thought, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched the creature from a distance. "It’s fast, powerful, and those scales... How am I supposed to get through that?"
But Levy knew he couldn’t back down. If he wanted to survive in this world, he had to face every challenge head-on, no matter how terrifying.
The lizard beast spotted Levy, its eyes narrowing as it let out a low growl. Without warning, it lunged at him, its powerful jaws snapping inches from his face. Levy barely managed to dodge, rolling to the side and getting back on his feet.
"This isn’t just a battle—it’s a test of everything I’ve learned," Levy thought as he circled the beast, his mind racing. "I need to use everything I’ve got. The Wolf Fang Sword Technique for speed, the Dull Storm Edge for power... but I’ve got to be smart about it."
The lizard beast was relentless, its attacks coming faster and harder. Levy dodged and weaved, using the Wolf Fang Sword Technique to strike at the beast’s vulnerable spots. But its scales were tough, almost impenetrable, and Levy’s strikes barely left a mark.
"I’m not doing enough damage... I need to break through those scales somehow," Levy thought, frustration bubbling up inside him. "The Dull Storm Edge might work, but I’ve got to get the timing just right."
As the lizard beast lunged at him again, Levy saw his chance. He dodged to the side, using the Wolf Fang Sword Technique to move out of the beast’s path, and then, with all the strength he could muster, he unleashed the Dull Storm Edge.
The impact was immense, the shockwave from the strike reverberating through the forest. The lizard beast let out a roar of pain as the force of the blow cracked its tough scales. But it wasn’t enough to bring the beast down.
"Damn... it’s still standing," Levy thought, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "I’ve got to keep going... I can’t give up now."
Scene 6: The Fierce Battle
The lizard beast, angered by the attack, unleashed its own powerful move—a blast of fire that shot from its mouth, searing the ground where Levy had been standing just moments before.
"Fire breath... of course it can breathe fire," Levy thought, his mind racing as he dodged the flames. "This just got a whole lot more dangerous."
Levy knew he had to be careful. The lizard beast’s fire breath was powerful, and one wrong move could mean the end for him. But he also knew he had an advantage—the beast’s scales were cracked from his earlier attack, and if he could just land another Dull Storm Edge in the right spot, he might be able to bring it down.
"I’ve got to time this perfectly," Levy thought, watching the beast closely as it prepared to unleash another blast of fire. "Wait for it... wait for it..."
As the lizard beast opened its mouth to breathe fire, Levy saw his chance. He moved with lightning speed, using the Wolf Fang Sword Technique to close the distance between them in an instant. And then, with all his strength, he unleashed the Dull Storm Edge, aiming directly at the crack in the beast’s scales.
The impact was devastating. The force of the blow shattered the lizard beast’s scales completely, sending it crashing to the ground with a thunderous roar. The beast thrashed about, trying to get back up, but Levy could see it was weakened, its movements sluggish and desperate.
"This is it... I’ve got it on the ropes," Levy thought, his heart pounding with adrenaline. "One more hit should do it."
But the lizard beast wasn’t done yet. With one final burst of energy, it lunged at Levy, its jaws wide open, ready to crush him in its teeth. Levy reacted instinctively, using the Wolf Fang Sword Technique to dodge to the side and then, with all the power he had left, he unleashed a final Dull Storm Edge.
The force of the blow was overwhelming, and the lizard beast let out a final, agonized roar before collapsing to the ground, defeated. Levy stood over the fallen beast, his body trembling with exhaustion, but his spirit soaring with victory.
"I did it... I actually did it," Levy thought, a sense of triumph washing over him. "This technique... it’s exactly what I needed. But I can’t stop here. There’s still so much more to learn."
As the lizard beast lay motionless at his feet, Levy felt a surge of energy within him—a new skill, born from the intensity of the battle. He had gained the Impenetrable Defense Sword Technique, a move that would allow him to block even the most powerful attacks.
"This is it... this is how I’m going to survive in this world," Levy thought, his determination stronger than ever. "I’m going to keep getting stronger, no matter what it takes. And one day... I’m going to be the strongest swordsman in this world."
