Chapter 18: The Clash

The city lay under a veil of chaos. The once-bustling streets were filled with terrified screams as civilians scrambled for cover. Beasts unleashed by Yuan roamed through the city, tearing down buildings and scattering the defenders. Soldiers and civilians alike fled in terror, their only hope pinned on the city’s heroes.
At the heart of this chaos, on the outskirts where the city walls lay cracked and crumbling, two figures stood facing each other. Levy, resurrected and brimming with new energy, stood with both wooden swords in hand, his posture unwavering. Across from him, Yuan smirked, his dark aura twisting around him like a shadowy flame.
Yuan’s eyes glinted with a mix of amusement and disbelief. "I killed you," he sneered. "I felt the life drain from you. Yet, here you stand, like some ghost come to haunt me. How?"
Levy smirked, his gaze piercing. "I guess it’s not that easy to kill me, Yuan."
"Impossible!" Yuan barked, his voice laced with frustration. He clenched his fists, his aura growing darker and more ominous. "It doesn’t matter how you survived. This time, I’ll make sure there’s nothing left of you to bring back."
Yuan took a step forward, his aura morphing into thick, web-like tendrils that hung in the air around him. His smirk returned as he whispered, "You’re about to see why they call me the Dark Lord of the Enkuentro."
With a sudden burst of energy, Yuan unleashed his ultimate skill, Darkweb Enkuentro. The dark tendrils shot out like spears, weaving through the air and lunging straight toward Levy. The black web enclosed around him, each strand humming with lethal energy.
But Levy stood firm, his wooden swords radiating with newfound power. His eyes narrowed, studying the attack. He took a quick step back, swinging his swords in a wide arc, blocking the first set of tendrils. With every strike, the swords seemed to glow brighter, deflecting the dark energy.
Yuan’s expression twisted as he watched Levy easily deflect his attack. "How are you still standing?" he growled, frustration seeping into his voice. "This is impossible! My Darkweb Enkuentro should’ve immobilized you!"
Levy’s smirk grew wider. "You think your little tricks will work on me now? That’s the thing about coming back from the dead, Yuan. You gain a little… perspective."
Enraged, Yuan sent out another wave of tendrils, this time even thicker and darker than before. Levy dodged and weaved through the attack, moving like a shadow, his agility and strength far beyond what they had been before.
Then, with a swift movement, Levy released his own power. His aura exploded, radiating a blinding light that forced Yuan to step back, shielding his eyes. The ground beneath them shook as Levy’s power reached a peak.
"Enough games," Levy’s voice boomed, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. "I’m done holding back."
Yuan felt an unfamiliar sensation creeping up his spine—fear. He gritted his teeth, refusing to believe what he was seeing. This was not the same Levy he had killed. This was something different, something far more powerful.
Meanwhile, within the city, the heroes had arrived at the heart of the battle. Zian, known as the Flash Hero, darted through the streets, his movements a blur as he struck down lesser beasts with lightning speed. Beside him, Kean, the Thunder Hero, wielded a massive hammer that crackled with electricity, each swing sending shockwaves that echoed across the city. Mina, the Lashing Hero, wielded her long, whip-like chains with deadly precision, slicing through the beasts that dared to cross her path.
The three heroes fought valiantly, their combined power pushing back the tide of beasts. Zian paused for a moment, panting as he surveyed the chaos around him.
“We’re barely making a dent!” Zian shouted, his voice laced with frustration. “These creatures are… stronger than they should be.”
Kean gritted his teeth, his grip tightening on his hammer. "There’s something unnatural about them. They’re enhanced… strengthened beyond anything we’ve fought before."
Mina whipped her chains, ensnaring a massive beast and dragging it down. She struggled to keep it restrained, her face contorted with concentration. "It’s Yuan. His dark magic must’ve done something to these creatures."
Kean growled, his hammer blazing with electricity as he brought it down on another beast. "Then let’s find Yuan and end this once and for all!"
But even as they spoke, more beasts surged forward, overwhelming their position. The three heroes fought bravely, their movements a display of skill and power. Zian’s speed, Kean’s raw strength, and Mina’s deadly chains kept the beasts at bay, but it was clear they were barely holding on.
The citizens of the city watched from their hiding places, their faces pale with fear. They had never seen their heroes struggle like this, and a sense of despair began to settle over them. Mothers clutched their children close, and men gripped whatever weapons they could find, ready to defend their families if the beasts broke through.
Back on the outskirts, the battle between Levy and Yuan raged on. Yuan’s frustration grew with every failed attack. His Darkweb Enkuentro, his ultimate skill, seemed to have no effect on Levy, who continued to deflect every strike with ease.
“What are you?” Yuan demanded, his voice cracking as his desperation grew.
Levy chuckled, the sound low and menacing. "I’m just a man with a mission. And right now, that mission is ending you."
Yuan roared, his dark aura flaring as he lunged at Levy, his fists crackling with dark energy. But Levy’s reflexes were faster. With a fluid motion, he sidestepped, his wooden sword slicing through the air. Yuan barely dodged, feeling the blade graze his skin.
In that moment, Yuan felt it—a surge of fear. Levy’s aura was overwhelming, a power he had never encountered before. It was as if death itself had come for him.
“Impossible…” Yuan whispered, his voice shaking. “No one should have this kind of power.”
Levy stepped forward, his aura pulsing with strength. He raised his swords, the wood now glowing with a fierce, almost divine light. “I told you, Yuan. I’m not the same person you left for dead.”
Yuan’s eyes widened, and he took an instinctive step back. "This… this isn’t over!" He shouted, masking his fear with anger. But the tremor in his voice betrayed him.
On the other side of the battlefield, the heroes Zian, Kean, and Mina found themselves standing against a monstrous creature unlike any they had encountered before—the Leviathan. Towering over them with scales as dark as midnight, the beast roared, its voice echoing through the city, sending shivers down the spines of those who heard it. The ground trembled with each of its steps, and even the bravest of soldiers felt their hearts falter at the sight of this monstrous creature.
Zian, known as the Flash Hero, clenched his fists, his jaw tight with determination. "We have to stop it before it reaches the heart of the city," he said, trying to mask the fear in his voice.
The Leviathan’s eyes glinted with malice, and it opened its massive jaws, letting out a guttural growl that reverberated across the city walls.
Kean, the Thunder Hero, gripped his hammer, lightning crackling along its handle. "That thing… it’s stronger than anything we’ve ever faced. It’s like fighting a mountain."
Mina, the Lashing Hero, narrowed her eyes, determination flaring within her as she unraveled her deadly chain. "Then we bring the mountain down."
With that, the heroes charged. Zian sprinted forward, his movements a blur as he launched himself at the Leviathan, delivering rapid strikes at its legs, attempting to slow it down. His fists glowed with energy as he struck, but the beast’s thick scales absorbed most of the impact, barely flinching under his assault.
The Leviathan swung its massive tail, and Zian narrowly dodged, feeling the rush of wind as it whooshed past him. “It’s… it’s almost like it doesn’t even feel my attacks!” he gasped, frustrated.
Kean followed, raising his hammer high. With a battle cry, he summoned a storm of lightning, sending bolts of electricity surging down onto the Leviathan’s back. The lightning crackled and danced across the beast’s scales, illuminating it in an eerie blue light.
The Leviathan roared, briefly halting as the electricity surged through its body. But then it shook its head, barely fazed, and snapped its jaws at Kean, who leaped back just in time.
“It shrugged it off!” Kean shouted, gritting his teeth. “It’s absorbing our attacks like they’re nothing!”
Mina swung her chains, wrapping them around one of the Leviathan’s limbs. She yanked with all her strength, attempting to unbalance the beast, but it only turned to her, its eyes filled with contempt. With a mighty pull, the Leviathan jerked its leg, sending Mina flying through the air. She crashed against the ground but rolled to her feet, wiping the blood from her mouth.
"This thing… it’s a monster," Mina whispered, but she stood again, her grip on her chains unyielding.
Together, the three heroes regrouped, panting but refusing to back down. They were bruised and battered, and the beast seemed barely harmed, its dark, scaled body seemingly immune to their best efforts.
“We need to find a weakness!” Zian shouted, darting around the Leviathan, desperately searching for any vulnerable spot.
But the Leviathan wasn’t done. It reared up, its massive form casting a shadow over them. With a roar, it slammed its forelegs down, sending shockwaves through the ground. The impact threw all three heroes back, and they struggled to stand, each of them feeling the sheer weight of the battle pressing down on them.
The citizens who watched from afar began to despair. The city’s strongest defenders, the heroes they had trusted and admired, were being overwhelmed by this beast.
