Episode 14.
"Of course I did! You have no choice but to accept me now; I'm still the only thing you have left! Let's go back to..." He continued speaking, but she suddenly jumped at him, kissing him passionately before pushing him onto the bed.
Then, she leaped onto him. Adam thought she was doing this because she was finally coming to her senses, allowing him to have her whenever he wanted. But he was completely wrong.
During his last words, Ariana sensed something when he mentioned that Sam was alive. From that statement, she realized he had been lying to her all along; he hadn't killed Sam.
She knew she had to go look for Sam herself. She loved that creature with all her heart and wished to be with him forever. To search for Sam, she needed to escape from this room. How could she be freed? By regaining her father's trust. And how could she earn that trust? By doing what she was already doing. She didn’t enjoy it, but she had no choice. Once she escaped from this prison, she would go out and search for Sam. After finding him, she would return to her father for revenge.
• Rose's Home •
Rosemary was already dressed and headed out of the house to her car. She opened the door and got inside, preparing to drive away when Roseline's voice interrupted her.
"Mary, wait! Where exactly are you going? Don't leave me behind! I should come with you. You know I can't stay home alone; it's not safe!" Rose shouted as she rushed out of the house.
"You don’t have to worry so much..." Mary replied.
"Of course I have to worry! We were both here when John called and threatened us. And now you want to leave me all alone?" Rose said, her voice trembling with fear.
"Rose, come on!" Mary exclaimed. She stepped out of the car and placed a reassuring hand on Rose's shoulder, trying to ease her fear.
"Rose, the safest place for you is at home. Just go inside, make sure everything is locked, and pretend you’re not home. I'm leaving you here because it's not safe for you to be outside with me. I need to look for friends who can stand as our witnesses, I had to look for Finn. Besides, John said we have two days, and this is only day one. It’s going to be alright," Mary said, cupping Rose's cheeks with her hands.
Taking a deep breath, Rose gazed at Mary for a few moments before nodding.
"Alright then, I'll try to stay, but please don’t take too long out there," Rose begged, her fear evident.
Mary nodded and kissed her on the cheek. She understood that her twin sister wasn’t strong-hearted; Rose was a gentle soul who needed her support. Although it pained Mary to leave her behind, she knew it was for their own good. Staying home was the safer choice for Rose at that moment.
As she entered the car, she winked at Roseline before starting the engine and driving away.
Roseline watched as she drove off, disappearing from sight. Once she was far enough, Rose entered the house and rushed to her room, where she sat as if she were being hunted.
All this time, her mind had been telling her that it would be better to visit her dear friend, where she would be safer and no one would find her. It was just a bushy forest, but the truth was that she had told Sam she would be coming in the next two days, and today was only day one. Another reason she didn’t want to leave like this was that Mary would start looking for her and would think something had happened.
It was better to stay here, but what if she died? Would that be better than going to stay with Sam? Of course not. Although John had never threatened her life, she couldn’t wait for him to do so to understand what he was capable of. If he could try to rape her sisters, then he could certainly think of killing someone too, especially since he was an evil police officer, he could cover for his crime and no one would suspectm
He would likely want to kill her just to keep his secret safe because as long as she and her sister were alive, he was in deep trouble. Therefore, going to stay with Sam was better than staying here and risking her life.
With that thought, Rose immediately went to her drawer and grabbed her phone. Although it wasn’t really necessary since there was no network deep in the forest, she felt she had to take it with her.
She didn’t need much; all she required was her phone. She considered dressing up, but it wouldn’t matter since she was heading to a forest. So, she quickly grabbed two pieces of clothing, knowing she might not return soon, and hurried out of the house.
She thought about taking a car with her, but that would be a bad idea. Instead, she decided to take a cab, letting her legs do the rest of the work.
As she ran to the highway, she spotted a cab, which she entered. Once they reached the forest highway, she asked the driver to drop her off and paid him.
The driver looked at her in surprise, his expression clearly indicating confusion as to why such a pretty lady would ask to be dropped off at such a lonely forest highway. But he was just a cab driver and didn’t have the right to question her, so he dropped her off, collected his money, and drove away.
Rose immediately ran into the forest, but she couldn’t get far before seeing Sam sitting at the root of a tree, waiting for her. She was shocked at how he knew she was coming.
"How did you know I would come today?" she asked, a small smile forming on her face. Sam stood up and stepped a bit closer, looking into her eyes with his golden gaze that always captivated her.
"I knew because I've learned that you are a stubborn person. When you said you would arrive in two days, I looked into your eyes and knew you were lying. You can’t stay away from me for that long," he replied, leaving her with a smile that made her heart swell with joy. It seemed that Sam was beginning to understand just how much she loved him.
"What’s that in your hand?" Sam asked, glancing at the little bag she was carrying, expecting her to reveal its contents. Rose looked at him and took a deep breath, struggling to find the words. But Sam already understood, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Rose, you can’t be serious! Please don’t tell me you found staying in the forest comfortable!" he exclaimed, already suspecting that her clothes were inside the bag.
"No, I didn’t find anything good. Even though I would prefer to stay with you, this is a decision I thought through carefully. It would be better if you took me home so I can explain everything," she stated, leaving Sam chuckling. He thought it was a made-up story.
"This isn't funny, Sam! I mean it! Someone is after my life, and when we get home, I’ll explain everything to you, okay? Please don't turn me away. If you do, I will never come back to see you again, and I will be sad for the rest of my life," she said.
It was as if she already knew what was on his mind. Her words struck him deeply; he couldn’t deny that he loved her. He would do anything to make her happy, and if that meant accepting her, then so be it. He knew she was okay with living with them.
"Okay then, I won’t send you away. Come on," he said as he took her hand.
"Thanks," she replied, feeling incredibly happy.
