Chapter 25: Identity.

As we drove to the restaurant, Max and I were filled with a mix of emotions. We were excited to start our new lives, but also sad to leave behind the place where we had met and fallen in love. The sun was shining bright, casting a warm glow over the city, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of freshly baked croissants.
"Can you believe it's our last day?" Max asked, shaking his head in disbelief. "It feels like just yesterday we were starting our vacation, and now it's almost over."
"I know, it's crazy," I replied, gazing out the window at the passing scenery. "It feels like we've been living in a dream world, and now we're about to wake up and start our real lives."
"And what a vacation it's been," Max said, grinning. "I proposed to Marie last night, and now we're about to reveal our true identities to the world. It's like we're stepping out of a fairy tale and into reality."
"I know, it's wild," I said, laughing. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all. It feels like just yesterday we were pretending to be poor, struggling to make ends meet, and now we're about to reveal that it was all just an act."
As we approached the restaurant, we could see Madame Dupont standing outside, looking worried. She was a petite woman with a kind face and a warm smile, and we had grown to love her like a mother.
"Ah, bonjour, mes amis," she said, as we got out of the car. "What brings you here today?"
"We've come to resign, Madame," Max said, his voice serious. "We're leaving Paris, and we wanted to thank you for the opportunity to work here."
Madame Dupont's face fell, and she looked at us with disappointment. "Oh, mes amis, I'm so sad to hear that. You've been like family to me. I can't imagine the restaurant without you."
"We'll always be grateful for the experience we had here," I said, trying to comfort her. "But we have to move on with our lives. We've found our true loves, and we're ready to start our new lives together."
Madame Dupont nodded, understanding. "I know, I know. Life goes on. But please, come back and visit me sometime. I'll miss you both so much."
We hugged her goodbye, and then turned to each other.
"Well, that was emotional," Max said, wiping away a tear.
"Yeah, it was," I replied. "But we have to do what's best for us. And what's best for us is to be honest about who we are and what we want out of life."
As we walked away from the restaurant, we couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for what the future held. We knew that revealing our true identities would come with its challenges, but we were ready to face them head-on.
"And now, it's time to reveal our true identities to Lydia," I said, grinning.
"Let's do it," Max said, his eyes shining with excitement.
We walked into the restaurant, looking for Lydia. When we found her, we took a deep breath and approached her.
"Lydia, can we talk to you for a minute?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Of course, what's going on?" she replied, looking at us with concern.
"We have something to tell you," Max said, his voice serious. "Something that will change everything."
Lydia looked at us curiously, and we took a deep breath before revealing our true identities as billionaires.
As we told her our story, Lydia's eyes widened in shock and amazement. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"You're billionaires?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
We nodded, smiling.
"And you came to Paris pretending to be poor, just to find true love?" she asked, her eyes shining with excitement and as well sadness.
We nodded again, our hearts full of joy, and now with curiosity as well.
Lydia looked at us, her face filled with confusion. "I'm so glad you did," she said. "Because I found true love with you, Ryan, not with some billionaire."
I smiled, my heart full of love for her. "I found true love with you too, Lydia, but we had to do this, we had our reasons."
As we hugged each other tightly, Max and Marie approached us, smiling.
"Congratulations, you two," Max said, his eyes shining with happiness.
"Thanks, man," I replied, grinning. "We're living the dream."
And with that, we all hugged each other, our hearts full of joy and love. We knew that our lives would never be the same again, and we were grateful for it. We had found our true loves, and we were ready to start our new lives together, back as billionaires.
"Incase you think I'm letting this slide, I'm definitely not, just have to process my feelings for the meantime before knowing what to do next." Lydia threatened.
I can see how serious she was, but I believe we should just let it be for the moment.
