I was watching from the inside of the car, Max knocking on Marie's door, his confidence and nervousness evident in the way he stood. After a few seconds, the door was opened, and Marie stood before him, her eyes widening in surprise. She was taken aback, not by Max's presence, but by the change she saw in him. Max was dressed in a sleek black suit, his hair styled perfectly, and a flower in his hand. He looked like a million bucks, and Marie couldn't help but stare. Behind him, I was sitting in the Lamborghini's passenger seat, watching the scene unfold. I could see the tension in Max's body, the anticipation in his eyes. He was ready for this moment, ready to ask Marie the question that would change their lives forever. I could feel the excitement building up inside me, knowing that I was about to witness something special. As Marie's eyes adjusted to the sight before her, she looked past Max and saw me sitting in the car. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she looked back at Max, a question in her eyes. That's when I stepped out of the car, a signal that showed I wasn't the owner but Max. Marie's eyes widened further, and she looked at Max with a newfound appreciation. "Max?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "What's going on?" Max smiled, his eyes shining with excitement. "Marie, from the moment I met you, I knew you were special. You light up my world in ways I never thought possible. You make me feel alive, and I can't imagine a future without you by my side." Marie's eyes were fixed on Max, her face softening as she listened to his words. She could see the sincerity in his eyes, the love and adoration he had for her. "Marie, I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy," Max continued. "I want to wake up every morning with you by my side, to explore the world together, to build a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Will you marry me, baby?" As he spoke, Max knelt down on one knee, bringing out the diamond ring from his pocket. The ring sparkled in the light, and Marie's eyes fixed on it, her mouth agape. She couldn't believe what was happening, couldn't believe that Max was proposing to her. "Max," she whispered, her voice trembling. "Oh my god." Max's eyes never left hers, his gaze intense and full of love. "Will you marry me, Marie? Will you be my partner, my best friend, my everything?" Tears streamed down Marie's face, and she nodded, her voice barely audible. "Yes, Max. Yes, I'll marry you." Max's face lit up with joy, and he slid the ring onto Marie's finger. They embraced, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. I watched, a smile on my face, happy for my brother and his new fiancée. As they pulled back, Marie looked at Max, her eyes shining with happiness. "I can't believe it," she said, her voice full of wonder. "I can't believe you did all this for me." Max grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I told you, Marie. I'm a man of my word. And I promise to make you happy for the rest of your life." Marie smiled, her face glowing with happiness. "I know you will, Max. I know you will." They hugged again, their love and happiness palpable in the air. I felt a sense of joy and contentment, knowing that my brother had found his soulmate. I knew that their love would last a lifetime, and I was honored to have been a part of this special moment. As I walked back to the hotel, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and happiness for my brother Max and his new fiancée Marie. I had just witnessed a beautiful proposal, and I was honored to have been a part of it. The smile on my face was still present as I approached the hotel lobby, my mind replaying the special moment I had just witnessed. But as I entered the lobby, my attention was suddenly diverted to a familiar face - Gabrielle. She was standing with another man, and they were about to check in to a room. My eyes narrowed slightly as I took in the scene before me. Gabrielle was trying to act natural, but I could sense a hint of nervousness in her demeanor. I pretended not to see them, not wanting to draw attention to myself. I walked past them, trying to act nonchalant, and made my way to the reception desk to collect my key. But my mind was racing with questions. Who was this man she was with? And what were they doing together? As I waited for the receptionist to hand me my key, I couldn't help but steal a glance at Gabrielle and her companion. They were laughing and chatting, their body language suggesting a level of comfort and familiarity that made my stomach twist with unease. But I pushed aside my feelings and focused on getting my key. I took it from the receptionist and turned to make my way to the elevator, trying to act like I hadn't seen Gabrielle and her mystery man. But as I was waiting for the elevator to arrive, I caught Gabrielle's eye. She looked at me with a mixture of surprise and guilt, and I could tell she was trying to hide something. Her eyes darted to the man she was with, and then back to me, as if she was trying to gauge my reaction. I just smiled and looked away, acting like I hadn't seen her. But I knew that I had, and I knew that she knew that I had. The elevator doors opened, and I stepped inside, trying to compose myself. But to my surprise, Gabrielle quickly followed me into the elevator, almost as if she knew I had seen her. As the elevator doors were closing, she slipped in beside me, her eyes pleading with me. "Ryan, please, I can explain," she begged, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know you saw me, but please, it's not what it seems like." I acted deaf, pretending I hadn't heard her. I just stood there, looking straight ahead, as the elevator ascended to my floor. But my mind was racing with questions. What was she hiding? And why was she even begging me to keep her secret? Gabrielle continued to plead with me, her voice getting more and more desperate. "Ryan, please. I'm begging you. Just listen to me." But I just kept my silence, not acknowledging her presence or her words. I knew that if I said anything, it would only make things worse. So I just stood there, frozen, until the elevator doors opened on my floor. As soon as the doors opened, I stepped out of the elevator and made my way to my room. Gabrielle followed me, still pleading with me, but I just ignored her and locked the door behind me. I leaned against the door, taking a deep breath. I couldn't believe what had just happened. Gabrielle, the woman I had been interested in, was cheating on me with another man. After pleading that I gave her another chance back at the restaurant and she had tried to hide this from me, to beg me to keep her. We never had any future together anyways. I shook my head, feeling a mix of emotions. I was disappointed in Gabrielle, but also relieved that I had seen her true colors before things had gone too far. I knew that I deserved better than someone who would cheat and lie to me. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I knew that I had to focus on my own life, my own happiness. And I couldn't let Gabrielle's actions bring me down. I walked over to the window and looked out, trying to clear my head and process what had just happened.
