12. Arc Church

"As I was about to enter the church. I saw two guards who looked like congregants. They blended in so as not to be seen. But they were clearly on duty. They didn't enter the church and pretended to welcome guests. But they were actually making sure no one was suspicious or carrying sharp weapons into the church.” Gaeul still remembers when she secretly caught one of the guards shaking hands with the congregation. Where there was a small tattoo on his hand that was barely visible.
“Are you sure about that? It could just be an ordinary tattoo.” Helian was still struggling to digest the circumstances that befell them at the moment.
“You don't need to worry about it too much. Now we should find a way to get out of here.” Gaeul pushed Helian's body away. She then took a piece of wood and broke one of the glass windows, jumping through it. Instead of going out of a room, she went back into a room.
“What the hell is this? Why is this room even crazier than before?” Helian approached the window and found a darker, smelly, and cramped room.
“I seem to hear something from the corner of the room. You wait here for a moment!” Gaeul commanded Helian.
Finally, Gaeul went somewhere and left Helian still waiting in her place.

“Help...help...help ....” A woman's voice was heard calling for help.
Gaeul approached the source of the voice. She stuck to the wall that was covered by a large painting. Without lingering, Gaeul immediately moved the painting away by pushing it. And behind the painting, she found a wooden door that looked fragile.
DUAK
In just one kick Gaeul, managed to knock the door down. After the door was dropped finally, Gaeul immediately went inside. And she found a woman tied to a chair. The woman's body was very thin and looked very weak.
“Miss are you okay?” Gaeul tried to revive the weak woman.
The woman didn't answer. It was obvious from her condition that she was too weak. She looked like she was almost lifeless.
Damn she is too weak already, Gaeul thought.
Gaeul took a pill from the bottle, and put the pill into the woman's mouth. After helping her with artificial respiration earlier, Gaeul hoped that she could still be saved.
“Uhuk ... uhuk ... uhuk ....” The woman suddenly vomited. Slowly her consciousness improved a little, although her state was still too weak.
Thank goodness it seems like this medicine has an effect on her, Gaeul said in his heart. It was a drug used to drain the contents of a person's stomach.
Gaeul then lifted the woman and carried her on her back. She then took the woman away with her.
***
“So this is the souvenir you brought for me?” Helian looked at Gaeul in disbelief.
“Damn it, you better help me move her over there.” Gaeul told Helian to take the woman to one of the seats near them.
Helian then moved the woman to the chair. After that she looked back at Gaeul with an astonished face. “What's next? You can't possibly be thinking of staying here forever can you?”
“Of course not.” Gaeul then walked towards the window that he broke earlier. “Gosh why did I just realize it. That painting seems to have a similar motif to the tattoo I saw earlier.” She recalled the azalea flower-shaped tattoo motif. One of the beautiful flowers known to contain poison.
“Do you know anything about all this?” asked Helian as she approached Gaeul. She also observed the painting that her friend was looking at.
Gaeul shrugged his shoulders indifferently. “At best we're just dealing with a cult. I think I've heard in passing that, there's a group of people who like to put religion in the name. Only to be used as a cover. In fact, they do that to use the congregation for their own personal gain,” Gaeul said honestly. She was just telling the contents of her head without any intention of exaggerating.
Helian was a little confused. But she tried to think hard in order to understand Gaeul's thoughts. “So what does this have to do with the azalea flower?”
“This is just my guess. Azalea is a poisonous flower, it's possible that this sect has illegal activities behind related to narcotics. I suspect that the people we see unconscious are actually victims of this sect's illegal activities.”
Helian's eyebrows raised one side, little by little she began to understand Gaeul's words. “Is it possible that the smoke bombs earlier also contained narcotic substances?”
“Maybe... but maybe not. I'm even more curious as to why when we were kept in this room, we weren't tied up and instead left free. It even feels as if we were made to escape at any time. Isn't this strange?” Gaeul felt awkward from the start.
Helian remained silent. She was equally confused. Intending to be careful with all her actions she chose to think about this matter carefully.
“That's because they are intentionally setting you up,” said the woman Gaeul saved.
Gaeul turned around and approached the woman. She looked at the woman intently without any fear. “Tell me everything you know. I feel that you, like me, are not the culprit here. I trust you.” Gaeul stared fixedly at the woman's dark bead.
A faint smile appeared on her lips. “Thank you for giving me a sense of trust. I actually caught your attention earlier so that you would take me with you.”
“Why did you do that?”
“Because I really wanted to get out of this strange place. The place where you found me earlier was a place that had an opening to peek outwards because of that, I was able to find out what happened,” the woman explained. “I'm sure when, you untied me earlier you must have realized, the bonds weren't strong at all because I was the one who tied myself up. Actually, I didn't really expect you to help me. But seeing you go to the extent of performing various rescue actions also brought me here. It made me think of working with you to get out of this place.”
Gaeul sighed heavily hearing all that. She wasn't really interested, but she had already helped this woman so there was no other way.
“Well what can you be useful for? I'm not forcing you to do anything great. But you must know very well, that we can't linger here and wait like fools.” Gaeul's voice sounded a little annoyed. “What's your name by the way? I'd have a hard time calling you if I didn't know your name.”
The woman smiled again. She seemed to be very calm about the current situation. “I can be of use to you guys. I know some of the location points of this place secretly. And as for the name, you can call me Lea. May I know your name and that of your friend?” Lea introduced herself directly.
