“Page one of the report states…The anniversary falls near and this is the 20th year anniversary of our beloved school, it’s been a journey and we would like to celebrate this wonderful occasion the best way we can. What is the best way if not a 5 day retreat away from the school, we plan to continue this particular tradition but we will only carry on if this one is successful and not just a waste of time and money.
we the high table of the school wish for the youths of the school to truly set their hearts ablaze, the seniors and our 5 ambassadors, we would like to see the cooperation of young minds and we would love to show the world what it is that young minds like yours can do, we know you have a test and an examination fast approaching but we would like to plan this as soon as possible and we would extend the times for the committee to prepare for their own test and we would promote them on trial if there be good records of success for the student but if not we will conduct a special summer school for them to redeem themselves, the committee include the seniors and the class of the ambassadors alone as other classes have already done their tests and are now in the final days of their exams.” Monna read and then moved to the next topic on the letter.
“Oh great youths of tomorrow your future shines bright and your ambitions tell no bland lie, I know this may come as a shock for some of you but do not worry about anything, we have planned everything for you except from the event we are having in 14days. the exams will start this week but we promise that we would make up for this inconvenience, youths we need you for this to make a little more sense, we have decided not to make the task too much so you will have options to pick from, do not fret you will be backed up by your teachers and you also have my support, this should be no work for my students but this indeed this is no work for my students but for a selected few of my youths, set your hearts ablaze and please make this fun.
Before we decided on the addition of the students we first decided that the teachers planned this but as always they delivered a professional educative program which I am sure would have driven all students to sleep and they may find it unnecessary, in short your teachers really made this educative, can you imagine that they made a retreat educative? so that is why I turned to you for I know you will do exploits and you will make the days of this event truly awesome. Thankyou for this and we will be meeting on the last day of this event, see you soon!!!!.” He said, really my teachers made this plan, an educative one, who would want to go to an educative retreat? These people really are something.
Then she reads.
“On the day one we would like this day to be more welcoming than taxy. We would like an intro to what we would be doing on the next day.” She read and then paused.
“What is your take in on this?” she said as she turned to the left side to look at Xavier.
“What is it you think? It will be a day of welcoming indeed, we would need to even look at the location but, never the less, we should be getting to this location by afternoon and after that we should show them to their rooms, I mean I am very sure there are plans for that and then we should let them rest a little, then in the evening we would talk to them while they eat so they will prepare for the next day, we will probably need to make the first day feel like an introduction and then explanation for why they are all here.” Xavier said.
“Wow that is actually a brilliant idea, that is something that they would agree with to be honest, because I would like to rest if I knew I would be going from hall to hall if you understand me?” amil said.
“This for me is common sense, plan it the right way is all I say, no one should be put to work on the first day of an event or anything an explanation will do so lets not kill ourselves and also them on what will have to happen on the first day, the teachers will divide themselves and then after that the students will divide themselves, I mean I don’t expect on person to take on over 400 students, I mean that’s just too much and lets even put the ss3 to work, at least on that day we would need people to move somethings that we bought from the market or some other stuff, so they will be present for the event but for the first meetup they will be late or not there and then for the second meetup they will be there and so will it be but the last meetup will consist of all hands on deck, the seniors and us will have to do some things like inspect the cleaning of the hall and also the washing of the plates, we will probably be too busy to even monitor any of those kids so we should allow the seniors do it for the first events then on the second event of the day we will be present and then absent again on the last event of the day. Do you all understand.” Xavier said.
“Well, we all do but we need to run this through them honestly, if they agree then it should be a good plan indeed but if they don’t then it will all be foiled, alas we would need to hear each other out so let’s not stress.” Konna said.
We then talked and talked but before we dove in further, we had to speak with the seniors, Xavier then offered a meetup on the same day, I thought we were just going to meet up but I guess our first meeting starts today. After a short call the head boy agreed to meet and they said they were all going to be present but it would have to be an hour before our closing time and he agreed.
After some time, we saw ourselves in the staffroom and the teachers excused us for an hour only. We have a hangout spot for teachers and that spot is the PHE teachers’ office, it’s as big as the staffroom but it lacks the long table and the super comfy chairs that the staffroom possesses. We got there before them and even though they delayed for around 10 minutes they later came in and sat down at the other side of the room and the meeting commenced.
“I am so sorry that we came late, we had to take permission and all because we had work to do that was assigned by the principal.” The head boy explained.
“No problem, sorry for the sudden meetup and all, we have heard first hand from the teachers themselves that they will be setting up a room for us to meet soon and when I say soon, I mean by tomorrow or so. Anyways lets move to the main topic.” Xavier said.
“Yes, we are supposed to talk about the first day of the event, so I’ll let you start because you called the meeting.” The head boy said.
“we have analyzed the first day and we have read the letter, according to the founder the plan of the teachers was to make this an educational retreat and he was not buying it, so he called the youths to step in, I have analyzed the words and I have a plan for the first day.” Xavier
“I see.” The headboy said as he let out a smile, a cheerful one to be exact, it was like he had some sort of relief or like he was happy. 
“so now I believe we will have no class that day just kids in school and that’s it, so they will come in the morning, I think we should leave the premises by 11am this will be the appropriate time, we don’t want to leave too early and we don’t want to leave too late, if we leave by 12PM it is more or less noon and that will somewhat ruin the plan, we are to have all the students, or rather all the people that will be embarking on this journey by 11 and by 11:01 we will leave the school gates and enter the road, looking at the amount of busses we don’t know about that yet, so let us assume that it is all of them that will be present, we have 4 buses and our busses can fit around 50 people so if we calculate above 400 we will need around 8 busses but the probability of this still lies under 50 because this is the third term and a lot of parents will want to travel for their holidays so that is also going to affect us, we need to be certain of how many people we would have to seat in a bus and we cannot be truly certain yet so let’s move to the event for the day, I say we have no event that day.” Xavier said as he looked at him to understand more but at his side was an expression of disgust, the head girl herself is spitting out.
“Now we are going to a new place for the first time, in order to keep things in order we may have to let the kids be familiar with their surroundings but that will not happen on a whim, we need someone to show them around, to show them the halls, where they should go, where they should stay clear of, all of these are needed.” He said and then paused because a hand was raised and that was the hand of the head boy.
“sorry to cut you short but I want to first say that’s a nice idea, I get the concept, the concept of the first day is the day of introduction and nothing else, truth be told, when you waking up and sleeping in a place that is not your home you would want to move around and know where you are, most of all, you will want to know your restrictions, that will be needed so I propose we show them to their rooms first, then the halls and then the environment and then here they should go and where they should not go, if you understand. So now we cannot take them all to the same place so we will shuffle it and I suggest this is done in the early evenings like 5:00Pm that is the perfect time. So we get there, let them settle in their rooms and then by 5pm they take a tour and by 7 they have dinner, I would have said while eating is the right time to tell them about their restrictions but we would have to do that as we take them on a tour, we will take them to places they shouldn’t be and so on and so forth. I mean does this sit right with you?” he asked Xavier.
“Oh, it sounds okay, in fact its brilliant and I get the idea.” Xavier said with a smile, the smile they shared with themselves, the head boy and Xavier were becoming friends but it was on the low and it was because of their similarity in thinking, this was going to be a good and beautiful meeting honestly, well that is what I thought they asked for suggestions.
“So now we have agreed, do we have anything to add to the first day?” Xavier said.
“well I guess no one..” and before he could finish.
“why don’t we add a dress code?” I know that voice anyway, it was coming from the end of the table, yes it was her, Sarah.
“I mean uh.” the head boy replied turning his face away and sighing. At this point it wasn’t like they were a problem but she was, I mean they all were nodding at what Xavier was saying but then she spoke and everyone became quiet and looked away.
“I mean look at it, we are an explicit school we should do things differently; we should do things that no one does, I agree with everyone and all but even the plan is basic but any who lets just move forward.” She said and then Konna laughed a little too loud.
“What exactly is funny?” she asked putting on a disgusted expression and looking directly at him.
“I mean did I stutter; did I say anything funny?” she asked again looking at everyone and at some point it looked like she was giving her seniors the signal of back me up guys, I saw it clearly, she looked around and then as she turned her head back at him sitting to the right they all turned their heads with her. Now there was intimidation and the room was extra quiet for no reason.
“Oh well, nothing it’s just you said the plan is basic, what is so basic about the plan if I may ask.” He replied, with an unhinged look, Konna is the man to be honest, he is raw as always and he will not hide his words to make you feel better, that is not Konna. The war was on we backed up Konna, we all looked at Sarah and they all looked at Konna. We were ready for anything but she was smart, she is not stupid and that is to be expected.
“Indeed, the plan is basic, I mean there is nothing exciting about it.” She said, cracking up a smile.  oh, we know that was obviously fake but we played along.
“Oh, well I guess I misunderstood then, so please continue.” Konna said letting the matter die down and not even apologizing. She looked at him and smiled and then asked the same question again.
“What do you guys think about it.” She said raising her eyebrow with a smile, she was trying a more friendly approach but it was unnecessary. I mean I find that stupid, dress codes, you will be restricting the freedom of these kids and that’s the truth to be honest, no one spoke but the prefects were already kind of giving expressions like nodding and raising their eye brows like they were putting it into consideration but I wasn’t having it.
“What exactly does that change about our school if I may say.” I said.
“Uh, did you listen, I mean this gives us a kind of class and differentiation from other schools, I mean you know.” She replied, trying to indulge me but I want having all of that, I already stood my ground and I think we at the right side did too.
“Is the location not enough class? I mean we will be choosing a high-class location, the best meals, fresh from the pot, we could invite schools and all but they will be coming in uniforms and even though they come in casual wears then let them come, let the difference be that we invited them and our organization, I mean wont these kids want to be free? The plan is alright truth be told, there is nothing that should be changed.” I explained looking at everyone and then ending my stare frenzy at her. 
“oh yes I know what you mean but this will be really nice and it will even bring these kids together, knowing they are all looking the same, there will be no discrimination if you get or maybe you d…” she tried to shun me, oh she tried but I have my mother’s spirit in me I will prove my point if it is the last thing I do here. 
“I understand exactly what you mean but even if you say they will look alike are they really alike? Okay everyone wears blue but even though everyone wears blue does that mean the shirt will be the same and even if they be the same will it be the same design, will it be the same texture and size, there will be discrimination, even if you try to lie and say there wouldn’t, there always would but will it really be discrimination? These are kids, they will normally compare and that is how they form small squads and call friends they will grow with; they don’t look at how you talk, they firstly look at looks and that’s the truth, it’s a simple ideology of look good and get attention for both boys and girls and we really are not above it. Now I know that you may say why don’t we get them the cloths and then give them later on, that’s simply expensive and we know it, we should be smart with how we spend even though it states that we should spend as much as we like and now if that was not a problem to you all then let us look at the ideology this carries, the ideology is simply going to be like they are going to school but in another location, truly they will at first be excited but sooner or later it will feel like school, just decorated, a new uniform and a new location with fun new events to back it up and that’s it.” I said. ;literally closing the subject and getting everyone’s attention, i may have overdone it with the explanation but I proved a point.
“Wow.” Amil said and he started to clap, then everyone followed, everyone in the room clapped and even the seniors, the head boy looked my way with a smile and so did everyone but when I looked at my side, I saw a look that well shivered my spine, this was not just disgust, it was straight up malice. We agreed and after that we left the hall but as they talked and praised me and all, I could feel the heavy stares of this one at my left, this one whom I only corrected. We stood up and I was the one last to leave the room before her, she was just there and as I walked her eyes follow, at some point our eyes met and all I saw was focus and plots from her pupils like a snake who has its eyes set on a long-awaited prey.
