Chapter 38: Memory Lane
Khaos found himself in a very familiar building. Familiar because he'd been here countless of times. The Castle of the Winds. Owned by the Goddess Hemera. The place where it all started. The God of Khaos turned to Prime Minister Yohan when he realized something. "You kept her memories here?" The other just shrugged which made him want to snap his neck. "Here we are..." They stopped in front of a large double door. "Hemera's room," Khaos whispered under his breath. "You have access to the room. You just have to apply blood to the door frame---" Yohan didn't get to finish his sentence because Khaos had already slashed the palm of his hand causing it to bleed a lot. And then with force, he waves his whole arm causing his blood to splash right exactly where the frame at. The blood stains started to glow immensely. Soon the door opened. Khaos was expecting something close to refreshing, but much to his disappointment there was none. The once lively baby blue-themed bed chamber of the first personification of the winds has now turned into an abandoned one. In the middle of the chamber, however, was a bed, and in the bed lies a golden treasure box with multiple sacred chains and locks on it. Upon seeing it, Khaos immediately walked past through Yohan and went straight to the bed. He sat down gently, not wanting to ruin his beloved's most precious bed. If Hemera was here, she would have smacked him right in the face. The thought made Khaos smile. Looking at the box. He thought to himself that with this, he'll be able to reunite with Hemera. Khaos have waited so so so long for this moment to happen. "Do you know what the chains and locks symbolises?" Yohan interrupted the God's thoughts. "What of it?" "The chains represent the Goddess' regrets. The locks represent the Goddess' contentments. And inside of the box's the rest of the Goddess' memories." Khaos froze at what he just heard from the Prime Minister Yohan, "Tell me..." he paused and look at the man dangerously, "...how on earth would I be able to retrieve her memories with such condition!" he snapped. Yohan looked down feeling guilty, "Before Hemera took her last breath, she sealed her memories inside the box. Said that if she was to reincarnate, she would like to live in peace and not bear the memories of her past mistakes. Hemera believed that she deserved to die and it was she to drove me to do such a thing to her. That she should have listened to her father instead of following her heart. She...she died with regrets." "I've heard enough. Leave before I tear you into pieces." Yohan went silent for a while but with a sigh he decided to leave the God of Khaos alone. Khaos gently grabbed the box and brought it onto his chest as he walk down to memory lane. He got what he wanted however his heart feels as if it was being pierced by countless of sharp swords. Hemera died with regrets Yohan said. Does that mean that she regretted every single time that they had spent together? The thought of it made Khaos tighten his grip, "This time, I'll definitely kill anyone who comes in my way." ---- Dianne let out a silent sneeze. “Your Holiness, it's getting cold. Don't you think it's time to go back inside?” “Silence, let me enjoy my peace.” “But Your Holiness---” “Silence,” Thomas let out a sigh of defeat. Aure continued to munch on the sliced red apple that she was holding while she reads a book. The Pope had been acting strangely for the past three days. He had been clinging onto her. It's quite irritating if someone would ask her. Maybe it's because of the revelations that the Goddess had said to Thomas. At first, the Pope was shocked. He did not expect that such an evil thing could happen in Heaven. Well, she could not argue nonetheless. That's how mortals see heaven. A perfect paradise to rest on. “Your Holiness, it's time...” Dianne turns to him, “Come here then.” Thomas nodded, he knelt down, and held out his palm. The Princess lent her palm over his. Thomas closed his eyes. Aure was just staring at the man as his and her hands glow immensely. A sense of calmness came through her. She knows, that since day one. Her essence had decreased for some odd reason. If it weren't for the winds she wouldn't have the strength to even move a pinky because of the absence of her divinity. The Pope had felt it too. This is why, yesterday, he offered his help. He wanted to restore some of the Goddess' essence by any means necessary. “Tha-that's all that I have to offer today, Your Holiness---” Dianne placed her hand on the Pope's head and gently stroke it, she smiled, “You've done enough. You have my deepest gratitude.” she said. Thomas's cheeks suddenly turned red, “It is my honor to self Your Holiness.” he got back up and sat in a chair that was just across from Dianne. “Any news about the Goddess Gaia?” Thomas's face lost every ounce of its emotion, “Unfortunately and disgracefully...none. The Goddess of Nature is still out there as you've said...with no memories of her life as a Celestial. We, her devotees who'd been blessed by hers truly do not deserve even an ounce of her mercy. But we're still doing our very best to locate Her Holiness' whereabouts.” he said with pure determination. The fire was visible through his eyes. “Don't stress yourself too much. My companion, Demetre...I'm quite sure that he had left me here to look for Gaia once more.” Dianne's worried about her beloved sister Gaia. But she knows someone who's more worried about her Goddess' well-being aside from her. Demetre, He likes Gaia. But does not dare to confess his life to the Goddess of Nature. Demetre said that it would be weird to see a Pegasus and a Goddess together. Celestials would surely bully the poor Gaia even more. Dianne couldn't help but to sigh. Love is complicated, it makes her head ache. Despite of her heavenly face and charm, she had not once experienced having a lover. Who needs a man anyway? They'll just get in your way and then things will get complicated from there and on. “Your Holiness, your nanny is coming this way. She's holding a letter.” Dianne tilted her head at Thomas, confused. She was about to ask something but was interrupted by a familiar call, “Your Highness! I've got some news!” She watched as her nanny come straight to her and stopped beside her chair, “Nanny,” so that's what the Pope's talking about. “A letter just came in, it's from the Grand Ducal House of Beaufort. It is specifically addressed to Her Imperial Highness The Princess. It's from the Royal Princess of Beaufort.” “Oh, I forgot.” Dianne and Irish had been in contact since 'that' unforgettable experience. “Open it, nanny.” Dianne requested sweetly. Nanny Miranda ripped the head of the letter, took out the contents, and gave it to the Princess. Dianne scanned the first page, “Greetings! How are you? How have you been? Have you heard!? The King had approved my visit this upcoming Saturday! I've so ecstatic to meet you again. I'll be staying there for a week! Isn't it exciting?” she grimaced at the lively-themed writing her friend did to the poor paper. The Princess flips the other side to reveal a completely opposite atmosphere from the other, “My mother will be accompanying me on the way to the Imperial Palace, hope you see you soon. Stay healthy, -love Irish-. For some reason, Dianne was suddenly restless.
