Chapter 42: The Evil
Irish smiled, she slowly walked up to her and stopped just inches away from her face. "I want your soul." The room was dark and the air felt heavy. The only light was coming from the moonlight that shone through the window and danced on the walls. Dianne – The Goddess, had just finished her deductions. Irish's eyes held a terror that she had never seen before. Irish was possessed and her pale and cold skin reminded Dianne of death itself. There, she knew what was needed to do. Although Martha knew she should have kept her distance from her newly found friend, she decided to take a risk and stepped even closer. "You want it you say?" She could feel a power rising up inside her and she started glowing with a bright light. The light was so intense that it engulfed both Dianne and Irish, and the feeling of dread in the room became stronger. Suddenly, they were lifted off the ground, spinning around in mid-air until they eventually stopped. They had teleported from the bedroom in the castle to the rooftop of the castle, the only place where they could be safe. "Who are you and why does a child have to be involve in your sick schemes." The princess watched in dismay as her friend's eyes filled with a dark energy, and they began to glow an eerie red. With a slow, mocking smile, Irish curtsied mockingly before the princess. The curtsy was graceful, but there was an unnatural, almost unnatural fluidity to her movements, as if she were a puppet being controlled by malevolent strings. The goddess felt a shiver run down her spine which made her froze for a second. She once experienced this feeling where fear wash through her. It was when she met the goddess of the internal nightmare, Scarlet. Aure hated that Scarlet was able to scare her like a weak chick in a forest. Summoning her courage, the princess tightened her grip on her sword and called out, "Lady Beaufort, I know you're still in there. Fight this darkness that has taken hold of you!" But in response, the Lady's lips curled into a sinister smirk, and she let out an eerie, otherworldly laugh that sent chills down Aure's spine. Is this what the mortals call weakness? "You always were the naive one among all of us, Aure," Irish's voice echoed, sounding distorted and chilling. "You---! YOU'RE---!" Scarlet! "Pardon, but I am not the Goddess Scarlet. I'm one of her descendants." Aure's mind raced with disbelief. Scarlet had descendants? She mated with the mortals? But that's against the divinity laws!? Is that why Scarlet was banished from the immortal realm? Realization hit her. Perhaps...the Goddess' heavenly soul was starting to perish that it needed a new...soul. They needed hers! "Irish snapped of it!" Aure needs to think of a way to get out of this situation asap. But first, she must salvage what's left from the lady Beaufort's soul. "Why fight this power when she can embrace it? You and your pitiful kingdom are no match for the might of the shadows!" "YOU!?" "The child is gone! All that's left is this little soulless body of hers." The goddess heart sank as she realized that her words were falling on deaf ears. The dark entity had fully consumed the young lady, leaving nothing of her former self behind. The princess braced herself, knowing that she might have to fight her friend to protect the kingdom and its people. With a sudden surge of malevolent energy, the young lady lunged at Aure with unnatural speed, her eyes glowing with an unholy fire. The possessed girl's movements were no longer her own but those of a dark entity seeking to harm the princess. With a swift, graceful motion, the goddess raised her hand, and to her own surprise, a shimmering, ethereal light danced around her fingers. The light coalesced into the form of a magnificent, silver-tipped spear. Her eyes glistened in astonishment; she felt an immediate connection to the weapon. She felt a newfound confidence surging through her veins. Aure parried the attack with her spear skillfully, but each strike from Irish was imbued with a supernatural strength that made the battle more daunting with each passing moment. As the clash of swords echoed across the rooftop, the princess couldn't help but feel...a profound sadness for her lost friend. She fought not only to defend the kingdom but also to free Irish from the clutches of this malevolent force. In the darkness of that moonlit night, the rooftop of the castle bore witness to a fierce and heartbreaking battle between two once-friends. Each swing of the sword told a story of a bond torn asunder by a malevolence beyond their control. And as the wind carried their echoes into the night, the fate of the possessed daughter of the duke and the princess became uncertain, bound by destiny and the choices they would make. As their blades clashed, sparks of divine energy illuminated the darkening landscape. Their eyes locked, and in that moment. They paused, their weapons held at a standstill, and rose into the air, defying gravity. Above the world, amidst the constellations and astral bodies. As they face each other, their swords drawn, the sky is split with the illumination of their powers. A dance of celestial colors – silver, gold, and shades of violet – paint the canvas of the night sky. With a powerful surge of energy, Aure launches herself forward, her sword weaving patterns of moonlight in the air. Irish or the Goddess of the internal nightmare meets her with equal vigor, her blade cutting through the darkness like a ray of sunlight. The two clash, and the impact sends shockwaves that ripple through the heavens. They clash again, each strike echoing with power and emotion. The constellations seem to tremble in response, as if the heavens themselves hold their breath, watching the outcome of this celestial confrontation. But deep down, amidst the thunderous sword clashes, a sliver of their former sisterly bond remains. Doubt creeps into their hearts, and in the midst of their battle, they hesitate, their swords locked together in a resolute standstill. The mortal world below, despite being unaware of the divine struggle above, feels the consequences of their conflict. Tides surge and quiver, and the moon and stars momentarily dim as each of them powers vie for supremacy.
