Chapter 5 DAISY LUNAIRE

THE INVESTIGATION OF POLICE AND THE SOUND OF SIRENS
Back in their 9th-grade days before stepping into the 10th grade, the hallways echoed with tremors of fear and regret.
Dash Armenda found herself quivering with trepidation, seeking solace in the confines of an abandoned room. "It's not my fault," she uttered, her voice a fragile whisper. "It should be him who will die, not Lawrenz." Alone in solitude, she grappled with the internal storm, desperately trying to regain composure.
Meanwhile, Daisy Lunaire, tears streaming down her face, pointed an accusing finger at Johnny. "You did that to him, didn't you?" Her words carried a mix of sorrow and anger.
Johnny, burdened by the weight of his actions, nodded in acknowledgment. "I received a note. I had to do this, but I didn't anticipate it getting this bad. What I intended was to discipline him physically," he confessed, a sigh punctuating the gravity of the situation. "Fortunately, he saved his head. The second floor isn't as severe. But I am confident his spinal cord is unharmed." Johnny, with aspirations to become a doctor, mentally calculated the extent of the damage, assuring himself that Lawrenz's body would recover in due time.
Six months later, Lawrenz found himself fully recovered, the echoes of his fall down the second-floor hallway still lingering in his memory. As he reflected on the incident, he noticed a transformative change – he had shed some weight during the recovery period.
"It feels like a secret," Lawrenz mused, contemplating the mysteries surrounding his own journey. "There are so many secrets that I need to unravel." The experience, both physically and emotionally, left him with a sense of curiosity about the hidden aspects of his own life and the untold stories that unfolded within those six months of recovery.
TIME TICKLING... THE SILENCE OF LIBRARY REMAINS...
In the quiet halls of the high school, Daisy Lunaire noticed Lawrenz Tybalt, who often found refuge in the library. Concern etched across her face, she approached him, gently asking, "Lawrenz, are you okay?" Lawrenz, with his eyeglasses still on, looked up from his book, surprised by her genuine concern.
Returning to the library had become Lawrenz's safe space, where the whispers of books drowned out echoes of past struggles. Despite his resilience, he appreciated the anti-bullying campaign initiated by Daisy and others, a small yet impactful gesture that warmed his heart.
However, tranquility shattered as Nick Gregory, a troublemaker, intervened, driven by his interest in Daisy. An altercation ensued, leading them to an abandoned place where emotions boiled over.
Nick Gregory, eyes sharp with suspicion and rivalry, confronted Lawrenz Tybalt afterward. They stood in the quiet high school corridors, the air charged with remnants of their conflict.
Nick aggressively pulled Lawrenz's uniform. "Stay away from Daisy. She doesn't need your sympathy or whatever you're offering."
Lawrenz, calm, responded, "We were just talking. What's the problem?"
Nick accused, "You're getting involved in things that don't concern you. Daisy doesn't need your help."
Lawrenz defended, "Daisy approached me; I didn't force her to. If you have an issue, take it up with her."
Nick mocked, "Daisy appreciates your knight-in-shining-armor act. But let me be clear—stay away from her. She's not your concern."
Lawrenz asserted, "You don't decide who I talk to. Daisy is a friend, and if she needs someone, I'll be there. You can't control her life."
Nick threatened, "Some things are better left untouched, Lawrenz."
As the argument unfolded, the tension escalated, each standing firm in their perspective on Daisy's involvement. The quiet corridors bore witness to a clash of wills, leaving a lingering unease.
Nick's attempts to manipulate unraveled as Dash Armenda arrived unexpectedly. Something in her presence silenced Nick, a hint of fear in his eyes. Lawrenz seized the opportunity, joining forces with Dash against Nick's malevolent intentions.
In the midst of the confrontation, Dash decided to halt the conflict, remaining silent instead of exposing Nick, leaving him bewildered.
As tension lifted, Lawrenz advised Dash, "You should protect yourself," recognizing her strength. The encounter marked a turning point—a subtle alliance against negativity, perhaps a glimmer of unity among those who faced bullying together.
Some girls approached Lawrenz, praising his weight loss. Lawrenz's eyes dulled. "Stop talking to me; we never used to talk. Also, I don't know all of you," he coldly said.
Despite Lawrenz's attempts to dismiss the girls' attention, the corridor buzzed with excitement. The news of Lawrenz Tybalt's transformation spread like wildfire among the students, especially the girls who now admired his changed appearance.
As more girls gathered around him, expressing admiration for his weight loss and newfound handsomeness, Lawrenz's initial surprise turned into discomfort. The praise, though well-intentioned, felt intrusive, and he yearned for the quiet anonymity he once had.
"Lawrenz, you should join us for lunch. We'd love to get to know you better," one girl suggested with a flirtatious smile.
Another chimed in, "Yeah, we've heard you're really smart too. It's not just about looks."
Lawrenz, still wearing his eyeglasses, maintained a stoic expression. "I appreciate the compliments, but I prefer to keep to myself. Please, I need some space."
Despite his clear request, the girls persisted, unknowingly contributing to the discomfort etched on Lawrenz's face. The once-shy boy found himself at the center of attention, a role he had never sought nor desired.
The praise continued, forming a chorus that echoed in the corridor. "Lawrenz, you're like a different person now. We should hang out sometime."
Unbeknownst to Lawrenz, Daisy Lunaire observed the scene from a distance. Concern creased her forehead as she witnessed her friend's discomfort. Determined to help, she approached the group.
"Hey, girls, Lawrenz needs some space. Let's respect his wishes," Daisy intervened, trying to redirect their attention.
The girls exchanged glances, realizing they might have overstepped. Reluctantly, they dispersed, leaving Lawrenz and Daisy standing together.
"Thanks, Daisy. I didn't expect all this attention," Lawrenz admitted, his eyes reflecting a mix of gratitude and unease.
Daisy smiled reassuringly. "People are just noticing the changes. Don't worry; it will settle down."
However, the corridor's atmosphere remained charged with whispers and curious glances. Lawrenz's attempt to return to the quiet haven of the library now seemed like a distant dream.
As Daisy and Lawrenz walked away, a familiar figure lingered in the shadows. Nick Gregory observed the scene, his eyes filled with a mixture of jealousy and resentment. The attention Lawrenz received seemed to irk him, and a new scheme started forming in his mind.
TIME TICKLING...
Daisy Lunaire, a lady of symposious sound of serenity. "Love has become a powerful weapon of people."
Lawrenz smiled at her. "That's why I became powerful because of you. Reminiscence how we become like this in just a snap of time."
Before Lawrenz becomes a highschool student, he aggressively forces himself to exert full energy to lose weight but he definitely figures out that it takes time to lose his fats.
"Don't be so harsh to yourself, you already achieved a good body. Don't be so skinny, Lawrenz," Daisy jested.
"Nope, I'm doing this because I want to be healthy and strong."
"Hmmm..."
"That's true."
As they were walking, they went to the nearby convenience store. "Let's have something to drink, Daisy. Chocolate milkshake?"
"Yeah, that's fine with me."
Lawrenz in his room, closes his wallet after seeing it.
Lawrenz spent his time reading non-fiction books but he also engaged in webtoon. He loves to watch Naruto and One Piece anime series. He loves to watch action movies.
"Dad, can I join boxing?" he informed his Dad.
"Why?" As he asked I came closer to him.
"To be mentally and physically prepared," I chuckled.
"That's a good idea, go ahead." His focus on the newspaper is full attention.
"Thanks Dad!" I go outside as my mother requested that she wants to go to the grocery store with me. I will help her.
"We couldn't avoid embarrassing mistakes. You are nothing but wasted. Lawrenz Tybalt surpassed you effortlessly," pushing the trolley, I heard on the other side a familiar voice.
Suddenly, when they moved their trolley, they saw me in the other stall of snacks. A pocker face and blunt eyes tell a hatred.
"Hey, let's eat fast-food," my mother blissfully said to me but I refused.
"We need to go home."
"What about new toys, transformers and other things that you want to buy?"
"Not interested."
I'm not affected by what I heard but I need to reduce my weight. Or to do better — honing myself more than I did. Be good at school to alter their mind that I can win it without an enemy.
The next day, Angelo said that he wants to join swimming and he asked me, what sport I am going to join.
"I'm so undecided right now. Basketball, Nick is there."
"You are afraid? That's so pathetic," he said without fear in his eyes.
"I'm not, all I want is peace."
"War never ends with peace," he uttered.
Hmmm... Should I proceed to the boxing ring to test myself in this stage? I look up in the azure sky, even the sky is not sure as well.
TIME TICKLING SO FAST ...
Asking for a time to rebuild myself from a horrible past. Maybe I cannot elucidate how I agonized but I can spell it now by altering myself.
In the boxing ring, my coach trained me how to do it. I can't get it but gradually, I can do it.
I came home so exhausted, I want to rest in my bed. However, my parents brought something in my room. "What is this?" As I was covering myself with a blanket, when I opened it, I saw a puppy.
