Chapter 17 THUNDERSTORM

THE SOUND OF THUNDERSTORMS
"It reminds me of yours..." The sound of thunderstorms whispers in the breeze as I stand alone, contemplating the tumultuous sky. Raindrops cascade, mirroring the turmoil within me. Tears fall from my eyes, and I find myself unable to articulate the storm of emotions swirling within.
"Congratulations! You deceived him," my father's applause rings out, cutting through the delicate melody of rain.
"He saved me, and I ruined him," I murmured, my gaze fixed on the horizon, hiding my turmoil from those around me.
"Well, did you get the passcode?"
"No," I confess, the weight of guilt settling upon me. However, amid my failure, I hold his letter, a testament to the love he believed was reciprocated. But it was a charade, a masquerade of emotions I played for my own gain.
"Dad, don't do this to him. Lawrenz never stole anything from you like your competitors. He is innocent," I plead, my voice tinged with desperation, fighting for justice even as my own world unravels.
"Daisy, he is a son of Tybalt. He is also the same. A manipulator."
————— I recall the haunting memory of driving my Neiman Marcus motorbike through Taft, bearing witness to a tragic accident. The emergency sirens now clamor in my mind, a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the inevitable consequences of our actions.
EMERGENCY SIRENS CLAMORING IN THE ROAD
According to Sigmund Freud, "Out of your vulnerabilities will come to your strength." Lawrenz shared this profound insight after an intense training session in the boxing ring. As he rested inside the ring, I stood on the outside, wiping away beads of sweat that spoke of his unwavering dedication and effort.
"You're incredibly strong, Lawrenz. I can imagine your parents being immensely proud of you."
A shadow crosses his face as he confesses, "Well, they are separated now, Daisy."
Gently tapping his shoulder, I offer reassurance, "Don't worry; I'll never leave you."
The boxing ring, a symbolic arena of both physical and emotional strength, became a poignant backdrop for the bonds that transcended the struggles Lawrenz faced. It was here that we discovered vulnerability could be the wellspring of enduring strength.
"I love you," I whispered into his ear.
"I am willing to reciprocate the same thing, Daisy Lunaire. My love will endure until the end of time."
As Lawrenz plans to celebrate my birthday at the ocean park, the playful antics of dolphins and the stern demeanor of penguins evoke contrasting emotions within me. Amidst the marine spectacle, he stands, a protective force in the midst of my fears.
"I'm tired," I confess, weariness seeping into my voice.
"Here, let's have a ride!" Lawrenz suggests, sweeping me onto his back. "Tonight, I want to spend this time with you. Walking, talking, carrying, and hugging."
I kiss him, sealing the promise of an unforgettable evening. "And kissing you until we reach our rendezvous. Let's go to the convenience store!" Excitement fills my voice as he runs ahead to find it.
"Let's have a cup of noodles," he proposes at the counter, and I eagerly await the simple yet profound moments that await us.
In the convenience store, the fluorescent lights flicker overhead as Lawrenz and I settle into a quiet corner, surrounded by the comforting hum of refrigerators and the rustle of packaged goods. The aroma of instant noodles wafts through the air, a familiar and comforting scent.
As we savor our impromptu meal, Lawrenz's gaze meets mine, and a shared understanding passes between us. The chatter of other customers fades into the background, leaving us in a cocoon of shared intimacy.
"Lawrenz, there's something I need to confess," I admit, my voice carrying the weight of the secrets I've been harboring.
He looks at me, his eyes searching for the truth. "What is it, Daisy?"
"I need to go far away from you."
Lawrenz holds my hand, a silent promise of support amidst the storm that lies ahead.
Lawrenz's grip tightens around my hand, his eyes reflecting a mix of confusion and concern.
"Why, Daisy? What's happening?" he asks, his voice a steady anchor amidst the turbulence of emotions.
I take a deep breath, attempting to find the right words. "It's complicated, Lawrenz. There are things about my past, about my family, that I can't escape. I'm being pulled into a situation, and I fear it will endanger you."
His brows furrow as he absorbs my words. "You can't just leave without telling me more. We've faced challenges together. Let me help you through this."
I gaze into Lawrenz's eyes, torn between the desire to confide in him and the fear of dragging him into a dangerous web. "I appreciate your willingness to stand by me, but this is something I must face alone. Trust me, Lawrenz, it's for your safety."
He releases a heavy sigh, his concern transforming into a determined resolve. "If you're in trouble, Daisy, we face it together. I won't let you go through this alone."
But you are the one who's in trouble. Not me. Not us. It's only you.
"You're like a thunderstorm, Daisy."
"Why, Lawrenz?"
"In the midst of the tempest of emotions, our love mirrors a thunderstorm—passionate and electrifying. Amidst the chaos, there's a beauty, a magnetic force orchestrating a harmonious symphony that resonates with the entwining of our destinies. Our connection echoes the raw energy of lightning, leaving indelible marks on the landscape of our shared emotions." He kissed me in my forehead as if it's a last kiss of him.
As Lawrenz's words linger in the air, the sound of thunderstorms intensifies, echoing the tumult of emotions within and around us. The rain outside matches the tears threatening to spill from my eyes. In the convenience store, surrounded by the flickering lights and the aroma of noodles, our shared intimacy becomes a fragile sanctuary amidst the storm.
Lawrenz's kiss on my forehead feels like a bittersweet farewell, a prelude to the challenges we're about to face. The symphony of raindrops on the store's roof accompanies the weight of his unspoken fears.
"I can't let you face this alone, Daisy," Lawrenz declares, his gaze unwavering. "We've built something special, and I won't let it be washed away by the storm."
The storm outside mirrors the turmoil within my heart, torn between protecting him and the inevitability of the approaching tempest. Lawrenz's determination clashes with my own fears, creating an emotional maelstrom that threatens to engulf us both.
"Lawrenz, you're my anchor in this storm, but I fear I'll drag you under," I confess, my voice a whisper amid the howling wind outside.
He gently cups my face, his eyes reflecting unwavering resolve. "We face the storm together, Daisy. I won't let go."
AFTER 10 YEARS... I thought it was done, yet it made me numb all the time with Nick Gregory.
