Chapter 30: Jealous

"Alright, Young, can you give me Tony's number?" Anna asked anxiously.
Hearing Anna's urgent tone, Young thought Anna simply wanted to quickly inquire about Tony and the dogs. She couldn't imagine that Tony being injured and Anna's house being broken into could be related.
Young said, "I'm with Tony right now. Let me transfer the call to him."
Hearing that Young was with Tony, Anna felt relieved. If there was something wrong with Tony, Young would have told her.
Anna, no longer overly worried about Tony, said, "No need, you can give me Tony's number. I'll call him later. I don't want to bother you two, okay?"
Young said, "Bother? Not at all. In a little while, Tony will take me to your place, and we'll drop by. If you have any questions, you can ask Tony directly; it'll be easier."
"Okay, that works," Anna replied.
Young and Anna ended their conversation. Tony, from beginning to end, remained seemingly oblivious, standing still and listening to their conversation.
Young said to Tony, "Tony, Anna's house was broken into, but luckily, she's okay. Can you take me to her place?"
"If she's okay, that's good. After lunch, I'll take you there," Tony said, slightly surprised.
"Our town has seen too many bad characters lately. I'm a bit scared. Fortunately, I have you, Benji, and Buster," Young hugged Tony and said.
"I won't let anyone harm you," Tony reassured Young.
Afterwards, Tony and Young prepared lunch together.
Young mainly cooked, and it looked very appealing.
Tony's parents were pleased when they saw it.
In fact, they had met Young a few times, but today was the first time they had a meal with her, and it was prepared by Young herself.
Both Jack and Nancy never thought Tony would date such a good girl like Young.
Initially, they were a bit worried for their son rather than happy because Tony didn't have any outstanding talents, while Young was beautiful and academically gifted.
They feared that one day Young would leave Tony, causing their son emotional distress.
However, when Tony earned his first money from the dogs he sold to Ryan, Young's father, they felt that Tony had the courage and capability to sustain a relationship with Young.
Only then did they stop worrying about their son's love life.
Jack also provided the best conditions for Tony by giving him the Ford F-150, the truck he loved, to use. As for himself, he used the old and somewhat worn-out small truck, but it still ran quite well.
After resting for a while after lunch, Tony drove Young to Anna's house.
As Anna opened the door, Young immediately rushed up and grabbed Anna's hand.
She stared at Anna all over, checking if she was injured anywhere, making sure nothing was wrong.
Anna, being scrutinized by Young, couldn't stand it and said, "Young, can you stop looking at me like that?"
"Don't you want me to care about you?" Young said.
Anna replied, "I know you care about me, but you don't need to look at me like that. I feel like you're a horny guy staring at me seductively."
"Your thoughts are quite strange. How could I have such desires for you?" Young said.
"So, are you saying you have such desires for someone else? Perhaps someone like Tony?" Anna teased, jokingly.
Tony, listening to their conversation, found it quite amusing. He hoped that in the future, they could continue to live happily together with him just like now.
"You've been teasing me a lot today. Aren't you jealous of me?" Young said.
"What are you talking about?" Anna's face showed little expression, but inside, she felt like jumping. Indeed, she felt that she was behaving much differently than usual. Before, she and Young rarely teased each other like this.
"Enough teasing, Anna. Young, quickly bring Tony into the house; you don't want him to stand outside forever, do you?" Anna continued.
"Excuse her," Young said, then pulled Tony into Anna's house. The two Alaska dogs followed closely behind.
Sitting in the living room, Young turned to Anna and asked, "Can you tell me what happened to you yesterday, Anna?"
"I don't want to bring up that unpleasant event," Anna declined.
Seeing that Anna didn't want to talk about the terrifying incident, Young changed the subject.
"Have you talked to your parents about this? When are they coming back?" Young asked.
Anna replied, "I've talked to my parents. But they won't be back until tomorrow evening."
"In that case, why don't you come over to my place to stay tonight? It'll be safer," Young suggested.
"The intruders have been caught. I don't think there will be any more issues. Since last night, the police have been patrolling near my house regularly. So, there's nothing to worry about, Young," Anna said.
"If you want, you can still come to my place anytime," Young insisted.
