Chapter 65 NEW HOPE

Mrs. Carlson slowly opened the door of the room. The woman sleeping in the bed reflected in the dark surroundings. Its deep breathing was listened to carefully in silence.
He knew the woman was sound asleep. Probably tired of what was done wherever it went before.
He has also been late for Madison's outing for a few nights. He knows it’s careful in action so he doesn’t matter but what it doesn’t know is that he sees its every move.
She just waits long enough to let Arthur know everything is going on.
He closed the door again and then silently went to the kitchen. He took the jar containing the sugar from the pantry and then pulled a small bottle out of his pocket. He mixed the white powder with the sugar and then shook the meat to make it thicker.
He then covered it and returned it to the pantry. He also put away the small bottle and then threw it in the trash.
He left the kitchen and then went to his own room to continue sleeping.
***
'Let's meet this afternoon at three o'clock. - Conrad. '
Madison smiled uncontrollably when she read that message from the man.
She couldn't believe he really wanted her to be his tour guide. After the misunderstanding between them for the past few days, their conversation will also turn to be normal.
'K.' She replied.
She immediately got up to get ready to go to school. Even though she came home at three in the morning and had only been asleep for a few hours, she still felt light when she woke up.
She still has an hour before their class so she still has time to choose clothes to wear.
After that she immediately took a shower and went down to have breakfast.
As in the past, Mrs. Carlson wasn't around. But the food was ready on the table for her. There was also a cup of coffee that was still smoking.
She immediately sat down to have breakfast. But accidentally spilled the cup of coffee and although it did not finally fall to the floor, it fell over and the coffee in it  was spilled over the table.
"Tsk tsk tsk." She immediately stood up to avoid the splash of coffee on her clothes. She quickly cleaned it up and then took the cup to the sink. She washed it and re -brewed the coffee.
The truth is that she can handle herself even without Mrs. Carlson to take care of her. If it hadn't been Arthur's decision to hire a maid, she wouldn't have needed it anymore.
When she finished breakfast she immediately went to the garage and got in the car.
***
After sometime, Mrs. Carlson checked Madison's left over. Madison didn't drink the coffee she used to make for her for several days now. Se knew it could not go on. That was Arthur's strict order to her and she had to make way for Madison to take the medicine Arthur had given her.
She mixes it with sugar so that the woman can drink it unnoticed, but for a few days she does not drink the coffee she is preparing. And she knew she would get in trouble if that continued.
***
Sylvia just listened intently to what her assistant was saying. The seriousness of her face is becoming stern because of its reports.
When their conversation ended and the man left, Sylvia leaned back in her swivel chair.
According to his staff, the investigation it conducted regarding the alleged theft of the company's funds has been completed.
It named the people involved and left the evidence with him.
Sylvia sighed. Knowing that what she have learned would be a big talk, but she wouldn't just keep quiet like what Greg is doing.
The welfare of the company, and of the people who are working for it depends on it so she does not want to keep quiet.
She thought of calling her secretary when her cellphone suddenly rang.
"Hello?"
"Madam, I have information obtained about the disappearance of Young Lady Mendez."
Suddenly her chest throbbed at what she have heard.
***
It's been hours, yet, Peter was still walking outside the emergency room door. He also peeked incessantly through the glass window to see what the doctors were doing inside.
"Peter!" Margarita, who had just arrived, hurried over to him. "What happened to Robbie?" Asking him as soon as she faced him.
"Sudden attacked. When we rushed here, the doctor said he needed surgery."
Margarita burst into tears. "What are we going to do? Where are we going to get the payment?" She palmed her head with desperation.
"Don't worry, I'll make a way." He consoled her.
The woman hugged him. He knew she wasn’t just worrying about their child and that what was she's all thinking about. So is the substantial amount needed for the treatment of their son Robbie.
***
Peter gripped his knees tightly. He had been sitting and waiting in the area for fifteen minutes, Jeffrey Court said. He felt very cold around even though it was actually high temperature outside. He is nervous. He wasn't sure how to speak by the time he encountered the target person.
"Peter Henson?" It was a voice from behind him.
Peter immediately stood up and turned to the man who had just arrived. But it is not alone. He also bring an elderly woman and two men. They were in formal attire and looking at him seriously.
"Have a seat."
The woman said before sitting down in the seat in front of him.
"I am Jeffrey Court."  The man introduced himself, and sat down as well.
Peter took off his hat and then sat down as well.
"Excuse me, I just want to know how much reward I am able to get for the information I am about to say." He started. Even if he didn’t want to look like a scumbag in front of these people, he would do it because it was necessary.
"It depends. The amount depends on every fact you tell." The man said.
"I need proof." He insisted.
Sylvia pulled out a card from her bag. It clearly contains two words that made him feel sick.
Black card.
"This card contains five million dollars. I prepared it for the person who could provide any information about the incident four years ago. And it will be fine if you tell me the real information you know."
Peter's palms sweated at what the woman said. Five million dollars? That was some double the amount he needed in the total cost for Robbie's treatment. That was more than enough in time for him to say everything he needed to say to them.
"Time is running. Looks like you need the money so let's not prolong it any longer." The man said looking impatient.
"You're right. My wife and son are in the hospital now. I need money for my son's treatment. And the amount you can give is more than enough for what I need." His answer was encouraging.
Money. He needs money. Money is the reason they were facing each other now. Money that will add to his son's life.
