Chapter 64 MAKING UP

...
Conrad just sighed because of what the woman said. He wanted to answer what she said but he knew to himself that he needed to lengthen the cord of his patience a little. After all, what shee said was true because he was in arrears.
So even with the taste of the woman's anger, he still restrained himself. He would not allow the opportunity he had waited for so many hours to be lost because of her words.
"Hey ..." He chased to block her path.
"What is it that you want?" Glaring, she says. "If you don't leave me alone, I will call the cops and I will  say you are harassing me." She even threatened him.
"What?" He was stunned. "And why would I be harassing you? You're not my type and you're not that pretty either." He says.
"Then, why are you following me? What do you need?" She placed her hands on the both side of her waist in front of him. "Let me tell you, I don't have time to fool around right now. So you better leave me alo--"
"I came here to apologize to you." She was cut off from anything she was going to say.
She seemed shocked at what she heard so it hit her for a moment. But a "Tss ..." with an accompanying sigh made her make up for it. "Really? Did I hear it right? You?" She even pointed to her face up close. "You're so-sorry?"
Conrad, heaved a sigh for the nth time.
"I know we met from a bad start, I've been such a jerk and I'm really sorry about that. I really am." He said sincerely.
"Wow ... Don't you think it's too late for that sorry?"
"I know, I know. I actually really looked for you. From that day you left at the restaurant, I've been looking for you everywhere they told me I'd see you."
"And why are you looking for me? To annoy me even more?"
"No." The young man shook his head. "To apologize for what I did. And to make up for it." Once the young man bowed, then he also raised his head and stared into the woman's eyes.
"Make up?" She, in turn, met his gaze with astonishment.
At that moment Conrad's stare into the woman's eyes.
Her eyes, seemed familiar. It was as if something was telling him that he had already seen those eyes.
Suddenly the realization came up to him of that moment. For a moment he traveled the sight across her face.
And he realized that it's not just her eyes that seems to be familiar. Even her nose, her lips, even her voice are familiar as well. Why didn't he notice that right away?
"You know, I just noticed that you look familiar." He said out of the blue. "Have we ever met before?"
"Excuse me?" She raised an eyebrow. "I don't even know you even in my dream. So how can we know each other if not now?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Maybe." He just agreed. He knew there was a point to it too. "Maybe I mistook you for someone."
"Don't tell me I'm not the first one you have made mistakes on too?"
He smiled wryly at what the woman said.
"You're right. I'm already in arrears with a certain person. But unlike you, I never had a chance to apologize." He replied.
The woman was became silent because of what she heard.
"Why?" Eventually its question. "What happened?"
"She disappeared suddenly. I couldn't find her. There was one time we met but she seemed a really different person that time. I do apologize of course, but maybe because what I did to her was so bad, the ending, she wasn't able to forgave me. " He explained.
"It just mean that you're really a total jerk." Tuya it to him.
"I know. That's why I don't want that to happen again. So please, let me show you that I'm really sincere in apologizing. In that way, at least the guilt in my chest will be reduced."
The woman snorted at what she said but did not speak.
"Please?" He pressed his palm together as if praying.
"Hmp!" She sighed. "All right, I accept that." She says.
"Great!" He was already smiling. "So, are we okay?"
"Don't get too excited, mister. As long as I don't get a new job, we still won't be okay." He snapped at its delight.
"You don't have a job yet ..." His face lit with an idea. "That means, you're free? I mean, you have free time?"
"Oh, what about now?"
"I just thought, since I'm on my vacation, why not try to be my tour guide? You know because it's my first time here in Croatia, I heard there are beautiful tourist spots here."
She smirked.
"Tour guide? Seriously?"
"Don't worry, I'll be in-charge for everything. I'll make up for my arrears with you." His persuasion.
"That's a good offer, actually." Said the woman. "But I'll think about it."
"Good." The young man agreed. "By the way, we haven't even met formally yet." He laid his palm on it. "Conrad shovel."
She first looked at his palm then you looked at his face again.
"Madison." She answered before accepting his handshake.

His head hurt when he got up to take a shower. And because he still felt a little dizzy, he almost slipped on the bathroom floor.
After taking a shower, he immediately went back to bed. But before he could fall asleep, he heard his cellphone ring. How many times did he want to ignore it but the noise didn't stop. He thought that the purpose of the caller might be important so he just forced you to reach over the side table.
"Hello?" Voice popped up on the other line. "Jeffrey Court?"
"Who's this?" The question was hoarse. He glanced at the time on his cellphone screen for a moment. 1 AM. For goodness' sake.
"I have information about the ambush that happened four years ago."
Jeff frowned at what the speaker had said. He struggled to get up and then fell on his head. It was like being squeezed because of the hangover.
"Where and when can we talk?"
