I didn't know what to do, I stood there frozen listening to a conversation with my boyfriend and some girl.
"Did you ever liked me too?" She cried once more.
"I, uhm. I'm with someone, she wouldn't want to see me speaking to you about thid matter, please let's just leave the past behind." He refused to answer the question.
The scene still lingers inside my mind, but the way Ash handled that scenario makes me think that I should just stop worrying, he didn't give me any thing to be suspicious or be worried of.
I'm just besise the Van, while the two of them are in the other side. I opened the door and just took a sit, I know Ash already knows that I'm back, I just need to know what he'll say then.
Not so long after I closed the door, the three of us Aileen, Valerie and me have been waiting for him to come inside.
"El' this isn't what you think it is, I know you heard something, I don't know what you heard or what you're thinking but I just want to introduce you to someone." He looks so afraid and frustrated, he's also got little shakings on the hands. My face gazed on the image of the girl, I didn't try to look a while ago, because I was waiting what'll happen, and I know even if I don't look faith will tell me who she is.
The familiar face revealed herself, she waved her hand at me, traces of her tears were still evident on her cheeks. "Hey! Boss, I didn't know you two are a thing, I want to talk to you, to let you know that. That Ash Ron isn't a red flag, Ash is someone that'll give you all the assurance in the world, and that's what I liked about him, but Ash doesn't like me at all. He likes you boss, so I don't know what you're thinking, but he is not cheating or commiting any sin to you. " My secretary, Venice explained.
" I wasn't thinking about anything, I knew you would do the right thing. " I smiled at Ash which made him gasped for air. Looks like he's been holding his breathe.
"I love you, I love you so much." He went inside the Van to give me the biggest hug ever.
"Don't do it in front of Venice." I scolded him. I know I don't owe Venice any apologies, but it's not too easy to take in, the feeling of sadness, when the person you liked is hugging someone in front you. I don't know what she's feeling, but all I know is I don't want to make another girl feel bad about herself.
"Right, sorry. I got carried away. Venice and I were childhood bestfriends, and classmates in the Philippines." He told me about their bond and how it all started. She's a very important part of his life, I can't make him forget about her, and I don't need to, because she seems nice. She's not a pick me girl, I can see that.
"Where are we going?" Antonette spoke up so she can be heard.
"Let's visit my dad, Venice do you want to ride with us? You're going to the hospital too, right?" I asked. The board members said Venice will ask mom about Sam and Selene's relationship.
"Uhm, yeah sure." She quickly told me her response and got in. She just put on some earphones and closed her eyes, it helps her I guess?
"Is my dad awake already?" I asked Ash Ron. He looked away, so I figured he doesn't want to answer it, because the answer is no.
"It's okay, I'm not rushing it. I just really want to talk to him again." I said and kisses his hand.
"I'm sorry again, about earlier. You must've felt awkward, I feel bad for you. Don't worry I'll make it up." He said and cuddled me. It's not his fault his bestfriend likes him, it's just that feelings aren't controllable. If it's awkward for me, what about Venice? Knowing the person you liked for a long time is already with a someone, and that someone is your boss? That got to he worst than what I felt.
Anyways like the day couldn't get worse, the Agency cancelled my day off tomorrow, they said there's a very urgent gig I need to attend. So I need to make today great for everyone, because I'll be gone for a while. I'll be going with the other top models in Paris for the Fashion week, I wasn't suppose to go because I cancelled it, but the agency said they'll stop sending me to Runways if I cancel another one, and I don't want to get banned from Runways so no! My career is already having plotholes, I don't want to lose it too.
My phone rang again which made me roll my eyes once more, I picked it up and saw Mr Harrington's name. "What is it? Didn't we talk less an hour ago?" I asked sounding so pissed because bad news keeps on rupturing since I last saw them.
"I know why Selene wants the company to be ruined, and her next plan to do this is to get to you, she's been contacting your contractors. She's leaving Australia for a vacation, but my assistant found out that she called many people to get an invite to Paris Fashion week, I think she's plotting something to get you in trouble in Paris. You need to be careful, you're the last line of the Del Acosta Family, you're much prescious now that your father is in the hospital. She aims to erase the trace of your family. " Mr Harrington exclaimed like a rap God, he was talking so fast that I almost didn't even understand what he was saying.
" What? How are you so sure? And how did she know about Paris? " I asked but come to think of it, he said she made phone calls to get in, what if she made phone calls to make sure I'd come too? Oh my gosh this only means that the Agency is bugged or she has a spy in there!
I need to warn Danica about that spy, so when he ended the call I immediately called my manager." Hello? We're kind of busy right now El' why don't you call later? " Danica asked me. She sounds so tired.
" I'm in danger Dan" Because of what I said Ash Ron immediately looked at me worriedly. "Selene has a spy inside the Agency, she knows about Paris Fashion week, she's plotting something for tomorrow." I revealed which made everyone silent for a while.
"Is your source credible?" Danica assured before acting up.
"Yeah I think so, I don't mean to cancel anything, I still want to go. The brands will hate me if I bale in the last hour, I need to go. Could you just give me some guards? Can you do that?" I asked Danica if she can make me safe if I go to Paris Fashion week.
"Yeah I can, but I'm coming with you." Danica said before hanging up to make some calls.
"What happened?" Ash Ron worriedly asked me.
"Mr. Harrington said Selene is on the move, she's plotting something, she left the company to so something. They think it's something big, because she wouldn't leave just like that if nothing big is going to happen. " I explained to them.
He held my hand and spoke up." Im coming with you, I can't just agree you go there without me, I'll protect you." Ash Ron we explained to me.
" No, you can't because Danica is coming with me. They'll know about us and they'll fire me or they'll make you go away. " I commented again the same explanation I said as before.
" I can't just let my fiance go without me! You're going in war to face danger, I can't just wait for you to come back. " He still argued.
My face burned red, and It took me couple of tries before I got words out of my throat. Argh! The amount of butterflies this man gives me is unconditional and unbearable. " Girlfriend, I'm your girlfriend. But yeah fiance is good too, but I prefer it if you proposed first before calling me that. " I said teasingly while smiking at his worried cute handsome face.
" Shit! No, it's ruined. I can't do it today. " He said while bumping his held on the chair. He's stressed.
" What is it? Hey! You can tell me anything. " I tried calming him down.
Valerie and Aileen had this worried face plastered on their expressions. Even the sleeping Venice looked at us worriedly too." He was suppose to propose to you today. " Venice revealed which made my eyes grew in shock.
"that's not your story to tell. " Aileen argued and rolled her eyes to Venice.
" I agree! You could've kept you mouth shut, " Valerie added.
" My friend is worried, he can't speak for himself, that's how he is when he's panicking. " She explained to me.
Wow just wow, proposal ruined by bad news indeed. What more should this day give?
" I already talked to your father before, and I asked for your mom's blessing too. I would've love it if your father knew about my plan too, that's why we were going to meet him. Danica already told Aileen about the re-scheduling, so re we rescheduled the proposal today, but it looks like today isn't the besy day too. " He complained looking so dissapointed.
" Hey! It's not your fault, sweetheart. Besides you don't need to propose, to marry me. I would've always said yes even if it's an impromptu wedding. " I sincerely said.
