"It's no one, just my mom." I lied that day on the hospital. I really didn't want Danica knowing because she'll try to convince me to end it.
It's been three weeks since the great rumor spread. My dad hasn't woken up yet, mom still sleeping in the hospital. My manager has also been tailing me everywhere I go, every gig I went to, So I haven't seen Ash Ron since he came back too.
"I miss him," I told Aileen. She just widened her eyes and shush my mouth with her index finger.
"Stop talking! Hurry up, Mr. Harrington's waiting for you." She said. Mr. Harrington is one of the company's board members who approved Selene's proposal, they helped her take the company away from us.
"What does he need anyways? I still don't believe that they're trying to help us get the company back, this can be a plot that Selene thought of herself." I argued, Aileen just rolled her eyes because of annoyance.
"Those people have been coordinating with you for more than two weeks now, do you think they'd really waste their time to talk to you? I think they're telling the truth." Aileen deffended.
"What are you two still doing here? Antonette has been waiting for us outside, are you just going to chitchat?" Valerie rushed us. This isn't like her, she's always so graceful despite her very harmful ways.
Aileen and I just took our things and easen Val' by following her, she looks so tense. Is she constipated or something. Anyways I'm going to give that Harrington my time today, because if there's any chance that I could get the company back without putting my career in danger, then I would do it. Besides it'll surprise dad when he wakes up, he haven't waken up, but his fingers were already moving a week ago.
The doctors said that some patients take more time to recover than usual, but it shouldn't be a worry because dad's vitals and weekly check ups aren't showing any signs of problems, that we should be worried of.
As usual I stepped inside the Van and took my favorite seat, Aileen went in the back to put the bags in the closet, and Val followed her. "SURPRISE!!!!" A sudden scream almost took my breath away from my body.
As I look back Valerie and Aileen was holding a banner that say's I miss you, they slowly motioned to lower the banner and it revealed a very familiar hairstyle. "Oh my God!" I screamed same pitch as theirs a while ago.
"Surprise! I'm sorry if I haven't visited you yet, your manager had been on your tail all this time." Ash Ron reasoned.
" Oh my Gosh, Danica. She'll see you. " I pushed him on the back of the Van to hide him.
" Well this is comfy. " He said while hugging me on the bed. Stupid! Why was I going to hide him on the bed again? This isn't a very well-planned idea.
" Relax El! Danica had been called to the Agency, your junior model had a scandal that her manager couldn't fix. " Valerie exclaimed while eiggling her eyebrows teasing me, she then closed the curtains and let us be on the bed.
"I went to see your dad yesterday, he's looking good." Ash said. Oh! That's right, I haven't officially told that were dating, because Ash needed to leave and go back to the Philippines all of a sudden.
"I need to let him know about us." I exclaimed.
"Worry about the company first, being secret is alright with me for now. I don't think your dad will able to receive complicated messages yet, he's still healing." Ash Ron explained. It turns out he was friends with Doctor Stevens, my dad's doctor. The four of them were housemates before doctor Stevens moved out to live with his fiance. That's why Simon and Demon brought my dad on that specific hospital, so he could be treated as VIP of their doctor friend.
These boys have been very kind to me. "We'll tell him when he's ready to hear it, okay?" Ash Ron asked for my approval. I really feel like we're some long time couple, I mean we're doing great at communicating, we don't forget about each other when were making a decision.
"Hate to break it to you lovebirds, but we're in the parking lot already." Aileen interrupted us.
"Seriously?" Ash Ron complained.
"I told you it was a short ride," Aileen exclaimed.
"Whatever, you should go, the company's not going to bring itself back to you." Ash Ron cheered while smiling.
" Hello Miss El! Do you still remember me? Anyways Mr. Harrington and two other board members are already there, the other two are distracting Miss Selene At the company's building." Venice informed me as soon as I Walked by the chapels door.
It's the only place we could hide from Selene's eyes, besides the nuns here aren't snitches, the kids are also very kind. We donated some educational toys and foods for the children in the orphanage beside the chapel, they're waving at mr while I walk my way inside. I smiled looking at their very cheerful faces.
"Ah! Finally you're here! It's nice to meet you again Miss Del Acosta, we heard about your father, we're so sorry, We hope for his fast recovery." Mr Harrington was the one to open the conversation.
"Do tell me Miss Del Acosta, do you have any plans to bring back the glory of the company?" Mr. Oswald asked immediately getting into business matter.
"You know that our families had been part of the Del Acosta company's trade for more than a decade, our roots can be traced all the way back to your great grand father's reign." Mr. Wallas added.
So they want to continue the bond of the companied I see? Each of these men in front of me have their own company to manage, the bond between them and Del Acosta company benefits their businesses, we are theit bridge to international deals.
"I plan to take back what was stolen from me, whatever glory it is that you're talking about will also be restored. I may not be focusing on the business itself, but I graduated with high latin honors gentlemen. I Know how to manage a business, I know in myself that I'm going to take back what's mine, but the question is are you sure you want to work for me? If you were sent by Selene to mess with me, then you could go back to her and tell her that-" Mr. Harrington cut me off while I was talking.
" With all due respect, Why would we continue to help a woman who's not only trying to ruin our company's brotherhood, but also is trying to drag us and our businesses with it? We have given you a very bad time, so please let us help you, to take back and restore the company's standing. " Mr. Harrington exclaimed so the other two also nodded their heads showing me that they agree with what Mr. Harrington said.
"Fine! If you really want to help, find out why Selene is doing all of this. She's a great secretary to my dad before, she knows how to handle a business, she's letting the company down on purpose." I told them my suspecions.
"We already know the answer to that, she's trying to take revenge, she said you took something important of hers so she'll do everything to make you feel what she's been feeling." Mr. Wallas told us about what Selene told her when she first asked him to team up with her. He told us that he kept on rambling about something special that I took from her.
"I don't understand, what did I took from her?" I asked curiously not being able to get what she's been furious about all this time.
"Well her husband did die because of you, maybe it's because of that?" Mr. Harrington suggested which made my eyes grew bigger?
My fake dad, Sam died because of me? How and why? I don't understand.
"He got shot, how was it my fault?" I asked them but they all just kept silent not having an answer.
"Perhaps you should ask your parents, or your mom. She was close to Sam, and your father knew why he died, maybe he told your mom?" Mr. Oswald suggested.
When the meeting was adjourned I bid my farewell ask them to keep safe. I went back to the Van, Aileen and Valerie went to pick me up.
"The nuns would like to thank you before you go, the children prepared a little something." Aileen said while wiping her tears away, uh oh? What made her cry?
"The children thanked her too, she's been like that for minutes now." Valerie explained blank-faced but can't deny that she didn't cry because her mascara smudged everywhere on her eyes.
"They're the most precious in the world, why did I ever hate children when I was young again?" She asked still crying, maybe looking back to her past self?
"Because they like teasing you, throwing things at you, they puke, and their poop smells like rotten garbage." I Reminded her. All three of us never liked kids when we're in college.
The kids sang a thank you song for me, they handed me their drawings, and told me about how it was the first time they've ever received a toy that wasn't used before. I'm not going to lie that I cried a bit, but it was only a little!
"Thank you so much, Miss Del Acosta. We'll pray all the problem about your company will stop bothering you anymore, and we will pray for your father's fast recovery." The head nun said.
"You're in the perfect age to marry, my dear. What a bright future I see ahead of you, but there will be bumps on the road, so just pray when you're worried. " Sister Alejandra told me before I left.
" Sister Alejandra can see a person's aura, if she see you'll have a great future, it'll happen." The head Nun said.
" Thank you so much sisters," I thanked them before leaving. I think I'll have my wedding in this simple chapel if ever. They make me feel so welcomed.
We were about to go inside the house when we overhead a conversation not far from us.
"I like you Ash Ron, I always did. Did you ever know?" A girl's high-pitched voice said. I think she's crying.
"I didn't knew, sorry." I heard Ash Ron's voice.
