Chapter 51 Crying
"Obviously, you appear like a child if you can hang on to Alyana." He said. John laughed, but Stephen seemed unconcerned.
It's only now that I realize Stephen is currently feeding me.
I pulled the spoon from his grip and added, "I should do that since you're sick."
"Of course," He said, scratching his head. As I began to feed him, I saw that the two were staring at Stephen and me.
"You two are so kind, it's like you and Sanaol are dating!"
"It's tight when envy is restrained," Flyn said to John.
"Tsk, you're one of them, too!" You're much more envious than I am, that you miss Camille so much." Flyn stared him down square in the eyes.
"I apologize, I didn't mean to."
Camille? Who is that woman named Camille? Hmm, I'm intrigued.
John hadn't spoken since mentioning Camille Flyn's name, and the silence was deafening, revealing the depth of his thoughts. Is it possible that he was taken aback by what John said, or does he hold a different opinion?
We're both in the room because it's late and they've already departed.
"Stephen, who is the Camille named by John?" I inquired as I sat next to him.
Because Camille is someone I will never forget. Perhaps it was because they shared my closest friend's name in high school.
"She's Flyn's ex-girlfriend," says the narrator. When he replied, I raised an eyebrow. "How come they're separated?"
"All I know is that Camille betrayed Flyn and abruptly left him, isn't it the thickness of her face?" She's the one who went insane, and she's the one who now wants to flee."
"Vanessa..." It came back to me out of nowhere.
"Huh?"
"Vanessa is your ex, according to Nanny... "W-Why did you break up?" says the narrator. Now I'm worried that he'll become enraged. I'm not sure what her reaction and response to my inquiry will be, but she was angry when Nanny mentioned her ex's name, wasn't she?
"She used me, cheated on me..." He just cared about my money, and after I gave her everything, she abandoned me and went to live with her partner." Our gazes collided.
"Stephen, you don't deserve someone like her." I stroked his cheek and attempted a smile.
"You're correct, that b*tch doesn't belong to me!"
"Are you still in love with her?" I couldn't help but be taken aback.
"Forget it, don't respond..." I'm terrified of his response; he might reply that he still loves Vanessa. Vanessa, I believe, was her first love, and the first is difficult to forget, especially if you have many memories of the two of you together.
"I don't love her any longer, Alyana; I haven't thought about her in a long time." My heart is starting to race once more.
"I haven't given you any medicine yet," she says. I started with pills and water; I'm not sure why, but my hand is shaking now. His stare at me made me even more perplexed, and it made me even more nervous.
"Stephen, first take this medicine."
"I'm not in desperate need of medicine--" I interrupted what he was about to say.
"You're going insane if you say I'm the only one you need!" "Do you want to drink it, or do you want me to sleep in my room?" I gave him a serious look.
"Give that to me," says the narrator. Is it true that he wants me to sit next to him? What is it, and when is he going to quit mocking me?
I slid the glass to the side and sat down beside it. "Sleep, and don't do anything stupid."
"Yes, my calendar is still available." Schedule? You're still scheduling insane.
_
I awoke EARLY and checked Stephen's forehead to see if he was still hot; he wasn't, and I smiled since he didn't have a fever.
I stepped out of the room first because he was still quite tired, and I saw Nanny Daley cooking, so I offered to help her first.
I awoke Stephen to eat when we finished cooking.
"Feed me up, Alyana." I gave him a frown.
"You're not a child, Stephen, so you may try it on your own."
"Why? Is it just a kid who needs to eat?"
"I still have stuff to do, so I'd better get going."
"Would you like me to contact Tito so you don't have to show up?"
"Stephen!"
"All right, all right. He began to eat, and I was taken aback since he could eat without being fed.
"All well, I'll take you there." I didn't because I didn't have enough money to pay for the fare-- by which I mean the money Madam had given me.
Before lowering the car, he kissed me on the lips and drove me to school. The children stared at me when I stepped out of the car, but I tried to ignore them and pretended I couldn't hear what they were saying.
"Good morning," I said to the teacher with whom I had a conversation.
I walked into our classroom and sat down right away.
"Good morning," I remarked to the person sitting next to me.
"How come you don't have a wound today?" "Miracle, you don't have a wound today?" The man sitting next to me didn't appear to believe me when I asked the inquiry.
"What do you mean?"
"I see many wounds on your body or maybe every time you come in here."
"Ahh..." That was all I murmured before pulling my book from my bag and placing it on the recliner.
Someone suddenly touched me, so I turned around. "Do you have any idea why I was gone for so long yesterday?" My female classmate was the one who inquired.
"Hmm... I'm not sure, I'm shocked as well." When I lied and my sight was drawn to the book. I shouldn't imply that Stephen was the mastermind behind the scheme; the entire class was affected. They'll be taken aback because there was no holiday the day before.
Our class has begun, and Math is our final subject. Xenon, one of my best friends, was our math teacher.
When class was over, I simply smiled at Xenon and arranged the book in my bag. My classmate has left, leaving only Xenon and myself inside.
"Alyana!" It took a step closer to me.
"Go ahead and bye, I'm in a hurry." I would have walked away from him.
"Alyana, are you trying to avoid me?"
"N-No, ah!"
"Please accept my apologies, Xenon. You didn't think I was avoiding you, did you?"
"I should apologize because I thought you were avoiding me." It's just a pain because you seem to be moving away from me; I'm not sure if I've done anything wrong because I know we're fine... right? His voice was tinged with melancholy.
I shook my head because I made Xenon feel bad; he's such a kind guy, so I shouldn't ignore him, and I shouldn't treat him this way! Is there anything wrong with him?
I approached him and hugged him. "I apologize, Xenon." I only had to say it, and it hugged me back.
"Are you getting ready to go to work?" "Would you like me to accompany you?" I released go of him and took a few steps back.
"Ahm, I don't have a job right now because madam said I shouldn't work first."
"Do you have another part-time job?" I inquire. He inquired.
"Nothing," I say, shaking my head.
"So you're going straight home, i-in, right? Stephen lives there, right?" "Isn't he injuring you, Alyana?"
"No, Stephen is a nice guy." He couldn't hurt me, but if he asked how many times Stephen had yelled at me, I'd say yes.
"Wait, he didn't hire you as a maid or something?"
I whispered to Manang Daley, "When he got home to the province, he was the one doing the chores."
"Flyn informed me Stephen never cleaned up, which is strange." All I know is that Stephen was a privileged boy who received everything he desired from his parents, even after they divorced when he was a child. "Stephen's toys, as well as others."
"Separated? "Are Stephen's parents divorced?" Xenon overheard me asking myself a poor question.
"Didn't Stephen tell you about that?" I shook my head, ready to ask a few more questions when my phone rang.
"Does that belong to you, Alyana?" I wanted to ask for your phone number because you didn't even say you have one."
"I'm sorry, Xenon, but Stephen advised me not to give out my phone number to anyone else." Because I was unable to answer the phone, it was disconnected.
"I'm not one of them." I turned to face him, biting my fingernail while I pondered.
If I don't give Xenon my cellphone number, he might sulk at me, but there's nothing wrong with that, right?
I can't just tell Stephen that I gave Xenon my phone number, but what can I do if he asks? Will I deceive you once more? Stephen remarked that he doesn't like liars, and who doesn't like a liar?
"All good," I said, handing him my phone number.
"I appreciate it." He gave a kind smile. I checked my phone again, and Stephen had called again, so I answered it right away.
"Hello--"
[How come you didn't pick up my first call? What else are you doing at that location? [Didn't you say you were speaking with Xenon?] I took my time walking, first waving to Xenon and then motioning for me to leave.
"Stephen,"
[You haven't responded to the question yet y— "
"I'm in love with you." It went silent all of a sudden.
"Are you still there, Stephen?" I was surprised and a little nervous when I asked.
[Damn! I think you're about to kill me right now, Alyana, and I won't be able to stop myself when you get here!] Stop? What? Oh my goodness, he's fine...
"I-I'm joking..."
[That joke is a sham! Alyana, are you kidding me?—] Was he low, or did he mean to disconnect me from the call?
I rushed to the parking lot because Stephen had promised to pick me up, so maybe he's already here or maybe it's just leaving?
I simply scratched my head, unable to see even his shadow.
Hmm, I wonder if he'll be here.
"Raise your hand and keep it there!" I raised my hand right away.
Is he holding me hostage? I don't have any cash on hand. What does he stand to gain from me? Hays, I'm the one who feels sorry for him because he tried to hold me and didn't get anything in return.
Why am I not frightened while my life is at jeopardy?
"Don't look back!" says the narrator. As I turned around, he said forcefully.
I just grimaced; is there a snag at the school? Then why is his voice so recognizable, even though it appears to have changed little...
"Stephen...?" When I heard him laugh, I lowered my hand and gave him an irritated look.
"Do you think that's amusing?" I persisted in my inquiries.
"Pfft, this is just a joke."
"Do you think it's amusing?" I repeat myself.
"Did you find your earlier joke amusing?"
"What's the joke?" Did I make a joke earlier?
"Stephen. I adore you. "Tsk, do you think that's pathetic?" I joked. That joke wasn't hilarious because I was scratchy against myself.
"Sorry."
"Come on, tsk."
He took my hand and brought me to where his car was parked.
I walked right in after he opened the door for me. His phone suddenly vibrated as he was d-driving, so he looked at it.
Who is it that is texting?
He gazed out the window and abruptly came to a halt, as if looking for someone. I can see the water easily from here in the window.
"Simply stay inside." Please don't leave; I'll be right back." I wanted to say anything, but he quickly departed. Why does he seem to be in such a rush?
I waited for a few minutes, but Stephen still hadn't returned, so I stepped out of the car, hoping that Stephen wouldn't be angry if I did.
I rolled my eyes to look for Stephen, but he was nowhere to be found, so I strolled around seeking for him.
"Where is he... sh*t!" I cursed at the end. Even though he turned his back, I recognized Stephen because he was talking to a woman.
"Stefanie," I said as I gazed at her face, which I could plainly see despite the fact that I was some distance away. I can still see her face from here because of the thickness of her face.
I was about to approach them to see what they were up to when Stefanie looked at me and did something unexpected... she kissed Stephen, and Stephen seemed to respond to every kiss.
I tightened my hand and fought back tears.
When I heard, I was ready to inform them both, when someone abruptly stopped me.
"Why are you crying, Annie?"
"I-I witnessed him have another k-kiss," J-Jc says. I came to a halt and stood back to see the two women from afar.
"What's up there?" says the narrator. It appears that the woman with her is her friend.
"If h-he told me he likes me, why did he kiss that woman?" Because she is crying, the woman is having difficulty speaking.
"He didn't say he loves you, Annie; he just wants you." Perhaps the woman he kissed is the one he loves, and you are all he wants; the one he loves is more important than Annie." That's exactly what I was thinking at the time.
"But because I thought... because we both like each other, I thought there was something special between the two of us." "All I'm waiting for now is for him to court me." My eyes are welling up with tears.
"Shhh, you simply had that notion... you can also find a partner for yourself, so don't cry."
"I-I want to be with Jc!" He's the only one I'm interested in." Stephen must also be the appropriate man for me.
"Just accept the fact that you're not meant to be together."
I can't seem to stop the tears from falling. It's as though that word was written just for me.
Stefanie is most likely the one who texted her; I believe he has Stefanie's number blocked. I didn't think he'd date that woman... I assumed he disliked Stefanie.
"ALYANA?" I raised my head to see Stephen, now from their Stefanie, staring at me. I turned around and went away swiftly.
"Wait a minute, ALYANA!" I didn't look at him; instead, I accelerated my pace. I felt someone grab my hand and pull it.
"Can you tell me why you're crying?"
"Are you in any discomfort?" Why are you making my head even more confused, Stephen, he inquired, concerned? I'm falling even more in love with you because of your simple remarks.
"Did you see what I saw?" I wiped away my tears and gave him a direct stare. What's going on with you, Alyana? To be honest, you have no right to feel envious because, first and foremost, you lack one!
"Yes. Are you curious as to why I'm crying? I'm crying because I'm inflicting pain on Stephen!"Download Novelah App
