Chapter 50 Birthday

"Oh, go ahead. I'll just let you two in here, and I'll cook first." Nanny said as she entered the kitchen.
I turned to face Stephen with a smile. "Did you hear what Nanny said? She's gonna cook and we're the only ones left in here." He urged.
"Stop it, Stephen. You're still not feeling well and you're thinking about that!"
"So, it's okay if I'm not feeling well anymore? Is that all right? Alright, don't take back your words Alyana you already said okay." I'm taken aback, I haven't spoken anything yet, have I? I don't agree with what he said!
Stephen and I ate. I fed him as Nanny finished cooking as if I had a child. After we finished eating, we heard the doorbell ring a few minutes later.
Nanny was about to stand up so she could open the door, but I stopped her. "Nanny Daley it's okay, I'll handle that," I said and walked over to the door and go outside.
"Sis Alyana!" Nash was standing outside the gate with someone, which shocked me...
"What brings you here, Madam Nessy?"
"Nash indicates this residence as the location where he wanted to visit you. Alyana, what are you doing in this house?" I scratch my forehead. Should I need to explain all to her now? I think that's not necessary though.
"It's a long story." To let them in, I first opened the gate.
"Alyana who is that... dwarf?" Why is Stephen still out of the house? He has a fever and shouldn't be moving around too much.
"Mr. Driver, don't call me a dwarf!" Will the two of them fight again? Nash's evil gaze turned to him.
"Is he the driver you're talking about, son?"
"Yes, mommy, please hire him as our driver."
"That kid is insane." Stephen was whispering to himself, which I overheard.
"First, Madam Nessy, come in." While one of my hands was tugging Stephen, I allowed them into the house.
"Alyana, Stephen, who is that-- oh my god Nessy, is that you?"
"Auntie Daley?"
"Did you two know each other?" I asked, confused.
"She's the one I'm talking about, my mother's cousin." She said. Is that Nanny Daley we're talking about? What a small world isn't it?
Madam informed me about her mother's cousin, but she never told me about her mother. I have no idea what its name or surname is.
"Is this your son Nessy?" Nanny was pleased, as evidenced by the joy in her eyes as she glanced at Nash.
"Yes, Auntie Daley."
"He's a very lovely boy, and he has your eye form."
"Tsk, the elves have grown in stature." I hit Stephen because he was already there, but I was worried about him because he complained that I had forgotten he had a fever.
"Sorry." He strolled into the room, staring at me. What a bad temper he has! He always sulks whenever I do or say.
"You take care of them Nanny Daley; I'll go first. Stephen appears to be grumpy to me." I said something to Nanny in hushed tones.
"Oh, go on now maybe his waiting for you." She said. I was ready to walk out the door when Nash called.
"Where are you going?"
"Um, Nash, I'm just going to Stephen in his room."
"Sis Alyana just leave him alone."
"I can't leave him Nash because he has a fever," I say.
"Okay, I'll accompany you to your room Sis Alyana, I'll look after him." He grinned. I don't think that smile is good. I shake my head at what I'm thinking.
Stephen was laying on the bed when I slowly opened the door. "Stephen."
"Leave me alone!" He sounds mad.
"Come on Sis Alyana," Nash murmured, grabbing my hand to drag me away, but Stephen abruptly stood up.
"You elf, what are you doing here?!"
"What? I simply want to assist my Sis Alyana to take care of you." Nash came up behind him and pinched Stephen on the cheek.
"Ouch! This dwarf is hurting me Alyana!"
"I'm sorry Sis Alyana; I didn't intend to hurt his cheek but Mr. Driver is adorable." Stephen smacked Nash's hand while pinching both cheeks at the same time.
"Get rid of that, Alyana!" While sitting on the bed, Stephen yelled and kicked like a toddler. I'm often perplexed as to who is the true child of the two of them.
"Sis Alyana I believe the elder driver is insane; could you please leave him alone?"
"Nash, you're out there first," I said softly. "It looks like Stephen doesn't want to see you."
"Is he not fond of me Sis?" He inquired, frowning.
"N-No, he has a fever right now, so just understand hmm?"
"What makes you want to go out with him, Sis Alyana?" He spoke in hushed tones into my ear.
"I'm not sure..."
"I'm going to ask you sis and then you're going to answer it. Sis Alyana how do you know when you like someone?" He was still young, but he was curious about that. Isn't it possible to study first to believe that it isn't as pure as this?
"Hmm, as long as your inquiry has only one correct answer. Nash, you'll feel it when your heart races when you see that person, and you'll be the only one who can tell you like them." Stephen told me the same thing; I simply added something.
"But sis the girl who struck me in the face the first time I saw her made my heart race... does that indicate I like her? Certainly not! Sis, why would I like the girl who punched me? Sis Alyana, please tell me that I don't like that hole!" He even shook my hand, and the imprint it left was incredible.
"He likes Ellie!" Nash became irritated and glanced at Stephen, wondering whether he was still tormenting him.
"Ellie? Her name is Elliot?"
"Ellie, Nash, not Elliot." I correct.
"I'll tell Ellie you like her." Stephen teased Nash.
"Don't deny it! Ouchh-- stop this elf, Alyana!" Nash was taken away from Stephen and allowed out first.
I shut the door and said, "Nash there you go ah."
"Are you all right?"
"Okay? How am I supposed to be okay?! My head still hurts from the dwarf pulling my hair, and then he made it worse! I told you to open the door and let him out!"
"Please accept my apologies, hmm? Sorry for the inconvenience." He laid down and turned his back on me after initially glancing at me.
"Please accept my apologies, Stephen." I walked over to him and hugged him.
"What's up, Stephen?" I kissed him on the cheek and shook his shoulder; he's still warm, so maybe Stephen will feel better tomorrow and I'll be able to go to school.
I stroked both of his cheeks and forced him to face me; he closed his eyes, but I could see his eyes twitching, so I knew he was just pretending to sleep.
I stopped laughing at his appearance and moved closer to his face, kissing his lips, nose, forehead, and cheek.
"Dammit! I'm don't know why I can't stand you!" I was taken aback when he abruptly spoke.
"Huh?" What is it that you can't bear?
When he hugged me hard, I tensed; now I'm on top of him, and my heart is racing again.
"What are you doing, kids? Alyana, Nessy is looking for you. You don't seem to miss a beat!" When Nanny Daley arrived at the door, we both awoke.
"It's not what you're thinking, Nanny, we're just holding one other..."
"There's no need to explain Alyana." You're mistaken, I just bit my lower lip so hard.
"I seriously doubt it." I deny it because I haven't given it much attention, and I don't really think about it.
"How am I supposed to look after Stephen? Are you sure he doesn't think about it?" I carefully shifted my gaze to Stephen, who was no longer able to look me in the eyes.
Is that what he's thinking? When he's feeling better, we'll discuss it! I pinched his stomach.
"Ouch, that hurts! You should take care of me without endangering yourself or else I'll look for Stefanie." When I heard the name of that woman, my mind suddenly heated up.
"I guess you want to die this year."
"You should inform your mother and siblings, Alyana, not me." Because of what he stated, I simply turned away.
"Come on, Alyana, leave Stephen there first. Stephen, you're supposed to get some rest so you can recover faster after taking the medicine, right?"
I stood up and took a step forward...
"I'm coming with you, Alyana!" He raised his hand as if he was going to lift it.
Will he do it? I just grabbed my head.
What the hell is going on here? He wasn't like this when I first met him.
I approached him and placed my hand on his waist, but he quickly pulled it... He walked behind me and placed both hands around my waist, then squeezed his head around my neck, leaving me wondering what he was going to do next.
"Stephen?"
"I say go for it." It makes a promise.
"How long have we been like this?" The question, "How can I walk properly?" perplexes me.
"Leave it to Alyana first; Stephen is like that when he's unwell."
"Ah, it's good," I finally murmured quietly, "and he was like this when he was sick because I believed he was abnormal."
"What??"
"I-I didn't say come on," she says. Manang was the first to take a step.
"Oh, Alyana..." Madam cast a glance behind me at Stephen. Nash and I are currently sitting on the sofa together.
"Uhm, I thought you and I were friends...?" Madam's expression was one of surprise.
"Ahm..." What city are you from? I'm stumped for an answer because I'm not sure what we're truly like.
Nanny Daley was whispering something to Madam Nessy, and when she nodded while still smiling, I was astonished. What was Nanny's response to Madam? Is it me or us that they're cursing?
We took a seat in front of Madam's sofa first. Madam Nessy seemed to suddenly recall something. "Yes, Auntie Daley, it's your birthday today?"
"Of course, I'm incredibly old because I forgot my birthday," she says. Nanny remarked.
"Birthday? Damn! Of course, I forgot Nanny Daley's birthday today." Is this Nanny's birthday?
"Wait, Man, I'm going to phone John and Flyn and tell them to go out and get some food and cake." Stephen removed his phone from his pocket and placed it on the table.
"Please do not bother me--"
"I do this every time you have a birthday and you're still growing better, Nanny Daley."
"I adore you so much that your lover is him. She's so brilliant, I'm sure I'll be blessed to be her." I was astonished because Madam Nessy stared at me after she told her girlfriend.
"I'm simply going to the potty, Mommy." Nash abruptly spoke up.
"Can you tell me where the bathroom is?"
"Yes, Mommy," I replied.
"Would you like to accompany your Ate Alyana?" Nash shook his head and glanced at me.
"Make sure Mr. Driver's nose doesn't start smoking again." What it stated made me giggle.
"Hello? John, I'll let you make a purchase. Don't worry, I'll put my money to good use."
[Where's your money, eh?] On the other end of the line, I heard John's voice.
"I'll pay you when you arrive; I won't run away from you. Don't be concerned."
[You can crawl] Mr. F**kboy] chuckles at what he just stated.
"You're a complete moron; if you hurry up, I'll double the money."
[Alright! Captain Mr. John is on his way!] The call was immediately disconnected.
It's been an hour, and we're still here talking as Stephen sleeps with his head on my shoulder.
"Mr. Fu-- I mean, Stephen the person you seek has arrived! Damn, you're turning me into a servant. Nanny Daley, happy birthday!" John's very loud voice jolted Stephen awake. He got in again, but this time the gate was locked.
Flyn recalls being behind John and saying, "Happy birthday Nanny."
"I appreciate it." They placed their belongings on the table.
They had two more with them, I noticed. "Please wish me a happy birthday." To John's two sisters, greetings. Isn't it true that they aren't in today?
"Oh, you don't have any classes today?" Nanny Daley had inquired.
"These two aren't here; they're two obstinate brothers." Manang couldn't help but laugh.
Stephen rubbed his temples. "Because they invited additional guests, I told them it was only food and cake."
"I'm pissed, brother." As she punched Nash, the woman remarked quietly. When he discovers Nash is also present, they will battle here. Where is that boy, I almost forgot. He'll take a long time to complete his task.
"Oh, Stephen, you should have let Ellie use the restroom first, ah." Stephen only gave a simple nod.
"The bathroom is only on the second door, so first, right?"
"Yeah." She was already on her way there. We heard a yell as we were arranging the meal.
"Ahhhh!!! Alien! Alien! Alien!!"
"Hole, hole, hole!! What brings you here, ha! Are you paying attention?"
"Hey, don't act like you're from another planet!" We could hear the two's voices even from here, so we went straight to the bathroom.
"What the hell is going on here?"
"Mommy, this hole stared me down!"
"What is that alien doing here, Brother?"
"Holes?" What gives Nash the right to call Ellie a hole?
"Ellie is not a hole's name." Stephen, who was now standing behind me, was holding back his laughs.
"Do you remember Alien's son, he spied on me?" Ellie remarked, her arms crossed.
"Nash?"
"Mommy I didn't mean to offend you."
"I'm sorry, but my son is a really bad guy," Madam explained to John.
"I see, that's how it was when they were youngsters," says the narrator.
"Ellie Nash told me he likes you earlier." We were all looking at Stephen.
"Yakks! You're an Alien, and you want something from me!"
"H-Hey! Mr. Driver's assertions are untrue! He's just lying, so don't jump to conclusions!"
"Stop calling me a hole!"
"Your underwear has holes!" I'm not sure if I'll laugh at the two of them because they fight so cutely.
"You two have come to a halt." Nanny Daley expressed her thoughts.
"Let's eat there; it's all right if you two fight first." Nanny took their hands in hers and walked up to the chair.
I can see that they are still together and arguing, so Nanny forces them to sit next to one another.
We began by praying, and then we sang Nanny a happy birthday song. Nanny, it turns out, is 70 years old and still going strong; she must be resting at her age.
One of the reasons, it appears, is Stephen; she still does not want to leave him. Stephen is fortunate in that he is well-liked by many people.
"Do you think you're unwell, Stephen?" Flyn abruptly inquired. He was in front of Stephen and me, next to John, and next to Nanny was John's brother Gween.
