Chapter 23 The Infernals

Ethan woke up with a start, his heart pounding in his chest. He had been having a nightmare about the monsters that were attacking Earth.
He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. It was just a dream, he told himself. But the images of the destruction he had seen were still fresh in his mind.
Ethan got out of bed and went to the window. He looked out at the city below. It was a peaceful night, and the city lights twinkled in the distance.
Ethan felt a wave of relief wash over him. It was all just a dream. Earth was safe.
But then he remembered the other Celestial Guardians. He had tried to contact them when he was on Earth, but he couldn't get through. Where were they? Were they safe?
Ethan knew that he had to find them. He had to find out what was happening.
He turned away from the window and walked over to his desk. He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
"Anya," he said when she answered. "It's me, Ethan."
"Ethan!" Anya said. "Where have you been? We've been trying to reach you."
"I'm on Earth," Ethan said. "I've been trying to stop the monsters that are attacking, but I'm outnumbered. I need your help."
"We're on our way," Anya said. "We'll be there as soon as we can."
Ethan hung up the phone and took a deep breath. He was glad that the other Celestial Guardians were coming to help. But he still had a bad feeling about the whole thing.
He knew that the monsters were getting stronger. And he knew that he and the other Celestial Guardians would need to be at their best if they wanted to stop them.
Ethan walked to the window again and looked out at the city. He knew that he had to protect Earth. He knew that he had to protect the people he loved.
And he knew that he would do whatever it took.

Ethan stood on the roof of a skyscraper, gazing down at the city below. He was waiting for the monsters to attack.
He knew that they were coming. He could feel it in his bones.
He also knew that he and the other Celestial Guardians were the only ones who could stop them.
Anya and the other Guardians arrived a few minutes later. They landed on the roof next to Ethan, and he could see the determination in their eyes.
"We're ready," Anya said.
Ethan nodded. "Me too."
He turned to the other Guardians. "Alright, let's do this."
The Guardians spread out and took their positions. Ethan stood in the center, ready to face the monsters.
A few minutes later, the monsters arrived. They emerged from the ground, their eyes glowing red with fury.
The Guardians charged at the monsters, and the battle began.
Ethan fought with all his might. He punched and kicked and used his powers to blast the monsters away.
But the monsters were too many. They kept coming, one after the other.
Ethan knew that he couldn't keep this up for long. He needed to find a way to turn the tide of the battle.
He looked around and saw Anya fighting a group of monsters. She was outnumbered, but she was holding her own.
Ethan closed his eyes and focused his energy. He felt a surge of power coursing through his veins.
He opened his eyes and let out a mighty roar. The ground beneath his feet began to shake.
The monsters looked at him in fear. They knew that he was powerful.
Ethan raised his hands and blasted the monsters with a wave of energy. The monsters were caught off guard and thrown back.
Ethan took advantage of the monsters' confusion and charged at them. He punched and kicked, sending them flying.
The other Guardians saw what Ethan was doing and joined him in the attack.
Together, the Guardians were able to defeat the monsters. The creatures retreated, defeated.
Ethan and the other Guardians stood there for a moment, catching their breath. They had won, but they knew that the battle was far from over.
But Ethan was determined to protect Earth. He knew that he and the other Celestial Guardians were the only ones who could stop the monsters.
*****
Ethan and the other Celestial Guardians stood on the roof of the skyscraper, watching as the monsters retreated. They had won the battle, but they knew that the war was far from over.
"They'll be back," Anya said. "And next time, they'll be stronger."
Ethan nodded. "I know," he said. "But we'll be ready for them."
The other Guardians murmured in agreement. They were determined to protect Earth, no matter what.
"But why are they attacking?" Ethan asked. "What do they want?"
Anya shrugged. "I don't know," she said. "But we need to find out."
"We'll split up and search for information," Ethan said. "We'll report back to each other once we find something."
The other Guardians nodded and flew off in different directions.
Ethan stood alone on the roof, looking out at the city below. He knew that they were facing a great threat, but he was determined to protect the people he loved.
He closed his eyes and focused his energy. He felt the power of the cosmos coursing through his veins.
He opened his eyes and smiled. He was ready for whatever the monsters threw at him.
Later that day.
Ethan met up with Anya and the other Guardians in a secret location. They had all gathered to share the information they had found.
"I learned that the monsters are from another dimension," Anya said. "They're called the Infernals, and they're said to be unstoppable."
"But why are they attacking Earth?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know," Anya said. "But I have a theory."
She paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts.
"I think the Infernals are looking for a new home," she said. "Their own dimension is dying, and they need to find a new source of energy."
"And that new source of energy is Earth?" Ethan asked.
Anya nodded. "I think so," she said. "And if they're successful, they'll destroy our planet in the process."
Ethan's heart sank. He knew that they had to stop the Infernals, but he didn't know how. They were too powerful.
"But what can we do?" he asked. "We're outnumbered and outmatched."
"I don't know," Anya said. "But we have to find a way."
The other Guardians nodded in agreement. They were determined to protect Earth, no matter what.
Ethan stood up and faced the other Guardians.
"We'll find a way," he said. "We have to."
The Guardians looked at each other, their eyes filled with determination. They knew that they were facing a great challenge, but they were ready to fight.
They would protect Earth, even if it meant sacrificing their own lives.
