Johnson was talking to the rest of his friends in front of the building when he saw Ella walking up to him, he acted like he didn't see her while he continued to talk with the rest of his friends. "Johnson?" She called him. "Yes, Ella," he turned to look at her. "I will like to have a moment of word with you," "You can go ahead, I'm listening," he told her. She looked at the rest of the friends around them then back at him, "Johnson, not here," she told him, "in private." As they walked on, she kept on galncing back at him in silence. Until they got to a place where they were both alone and away from peering eyes. "Is anything the matter? It's inappropriate if we hide in private to discuss something that is not important," Johnson said to her. "It is important, Johnson, and you know it," she said with such a cold tone that it startled Johnson. She slightly bowed her head briefly before looking up at him. She was breathing heavily as she tried to think of something to say to him, "you didn't call, I tried severally though," she started. Johnson scoffed at that, "so, what are you trying to do? Get us back together?" He turned away. She grabbed his hand, pulling him back, "wait, Johnny!" "Johnny?" He turned to look back at her, surprise lit his face. She was the only one who fondly called him that yet it irked him hearing her call him that. "I.....em.....I...," She shuttered, finding it hard to talk. "So, you still live up to your expectations?" He asked her. "I called you while you were away in school. But it seemed to me that you were enjoying the full privilege of freedom. I couldn't see you, unable to meet you so I'd presumed that you had found another." "What's that intend to mean?" She swallowed then came closer to him, "you wouldn't listen to me, would you?" He looked down at her, his breath an inch away from her face. His heart still beat desperately for her, he doesn't know if she was purposely using that to haunt him. He struggled desperately not to touch her. The sight of her eyes alone was pulling him in and drowning him into the deepest depths. "And I'm sure you were also enjoying the full privilege like you put it," he turned away again. "Johnson?" Her voice was so calm. Yet he refused to turn to look at her. The sight of her was evoking a million memories in his head. "Your girlfriend, Daisy? She is pretty. She lives in the city, right?" Was that the tine of jealousy he heard from her? He scoffed having won that part. Ella was jealous, it pleased him to core. He nodded, turning to look at her, "Yes, she is," he answered her. "I'm sure that you are happy with her," her eyes were sad, "and I'm sorry if I've been a bit of an inconvenience to you," she turned away too. Johnson watched as she walked away, so that was it? Just like that? He scoffed, nodding his head. He expected more from her but she was walking away. ******** Lola's hand was visibly shaking as Matthew gave her the drink which was in his hand. "You look quite, ravishing," he said as he looked down at her, his eyes dancing as he side grinned. "Well, that is so unlike... you," she stammered. "Really?" He laughed, enjoying the convo between them. "Some minutes ago, you were saying something about being all modest and all that. Behind your girlfriend, suddenly you find me quite ravishing. Isn't that funny?" He nodded as he chuckled, "Indeed, you are a city girl. I can't begin to wonder why I haven't found you sooner," his head fucked lower an inch closer to hers. Her heart skipped a beat, she pushed herself backwards, acting all cool. "I wonder what taste you will be to my liking," his eyes met hers. Her stomach tightened, what was wrong with her? This boy was something else! Probably worst than a cassanova, she scoffed, pushing his head aside with hit from her hand. "I find you so disgusting. You don't even know me but you already have some thoughts of me in your bed," she laughed again. "Where are you from?" He eased closer and the wave of his cologne hit her. "Where are you from?" He repeated, tilting her head up to his. Like an hallucination, she replied, "I'm from the islands." He snickered, Johnson got himself a very rich, fine girl." She scoffed, "So what?" "From what part in the islands?" He asked. She pushed him backwards, her heart was banging furiously now, she should leave now before her legs would fail her. She began to walk away. "Go and meet Ella, you are just an old chum of my boyfriend," she said, turning away. His grunted laughter sounded like music in her head as she walked away from him but he followed her still. ****** Some of the invitees had left, while the others lingered around, drinking and talking loudly. They were six in number who sat round a table to play a game of truth and dare. Meliana and her boyfriend, Ella and Matthew, Lola and Johnson. The evening was winding into a night and Meliana had begged Johnson and Lola to pass the night with them in the house. The house was a vacation house belonging to Meliana's parents. "Won't your dad object to we passing the night here?" Lola had asked Johnson. "They won't be in the house till tomorrow, so they wouldn't even notice our absence," Johnson answered her. "But at dawn?" She put in further. "I can take care of myself, Lola. You have nothing to worry about. And if you are still worried, my parents wouldn't be in the house by the time we arrived home. They would have left for work," he told her.
