Chapter 3 Searching

Matthew laughed, "Woah, look who we have here. I never thought that I would actually live to see this day!"
Ella had a surprised expression on her face, she was trying to keep herself from smiling at Johnson. Maybe, she hadn't expected him coming to the birthday party.
"Well, you should have died a long time ago," Johnson said, jokily as he hugged Matthew like they'd never had any slight of malice between them.
"This is so unlike you, Johnson. How was your studies back at school?"
"School still goes well as do my life," Johnson's gaze shifted to Ella, "I can see you are fairing well," he said to her.
"Yes, she is. Ella is a rare gem, I suppose you must have found her useful in your time," Matthew said as his hand reached around her waist.
Ella bowed her head slightly, feeling embarrassed while Johnson had a clenched fist. Why the hell will Matthew speack of Ella that way?
In an instant, Johnson's hardened face took a smile, "I see her usefulness in what you mean. Allow me to introduce to you, my girlfriend, Daisy Maxwell."
Ella's head jerked up instantly, turning to take a look at the astounding beauty beside Johnson. Matthew's eyes danced in laughter as his eyes roved down Daisy's body.
"I'm so pleased to meet you, I've heard so much about you," Matthew said to her to which Lola smiled pleasantly.
Matthew added, "I'm glad he found you although I'm not sure at what his interest may be," his eyes met the size of her curvy breasts.
"It's best to preserve our relationship, don't you think so? That was why I asked Johnson to be at this party. He wouldn't be bothered at all if he weren't to come," Lola tried her best graceful composure as she continued to play her part effectively.
Ella was looking at Johnson and Johnson was looking back at her. Each with their own strangled emotion.
"I will love my girl to be so modest," Matthew said to them as he eyed Lola.
"That's way too harsh, Matthew. I had assumed that you might be some sweet old chum of my sweet boyfriend," Lola reached out to peck Johnson on his cheek.
"I believe I'm just different," Matthew said.
"Daisy, let's take our leave while we can. I'm reminded of one abominable occurrence," Johnson's hand clasped tightly around Lola's hand and they began to walk away.
Are you okay, Johnson?" Lola asked when they were both out of sight.
"Must you go to such length to actually peck me on the cheek?" Johnson asked Lola as he turned to look at her.
"Oh, what's there? I could actually do it again if you want to. Don't forget that you are my boyfriend and I must play my part well,"
"You don't have to go to such length. You might be forced to do some other certain things under such circumstances. Like actually kissing me on my mouth. Try not to do too much. I'm acting like a cassanova around girls because I want people to talk, I don't want the whole attention on you," he explained.
Lola was clearly dumbfounded, what was Johnson saying? "Well, I never once thought that a pronounced kiss might well play out between us considering we are cousins. But you gave me a name, a foreign name, I presume," she tried to ease the tension between them.
"Lola please, let's not argue about that too. We have a lot on our hands, we still got a whole evening ahead of us,"
"Okay," she breathed, "will we be back home after all this is done cause I'm not liking this drama anymore?"
"I believe so," he looked down at her exposed cleavage, "next time, I will advise you not to wear something like this. It's so embarrassing," he turned and started walking away.
Lola gasped, standing still for a minute, her mouth agape, disbelieving what he had just said to her. Then she looked down at her chest once more. What was wrong with her top?
"Now, don't tell me that I emabarassed you only because Ella was looking at me awkwardly!" She yelled behind him.
But her voice was probably drown by the loud, blaring music which played next, Lola grunted, turning away to get herself a glass of drink.
*******
Few minutes ago, the celebrant, Meliana was taking some pictures was cofriends and siblings. The birthday song was sang, next the cake was splitted then divided and lastly shared around.
Johnson wasn't inside, Lola noticed. Where was he? He should also be taking pictures with Meliana, atleast she wasn't his enemy. Maybe, he had probably excused himself. Lola found her eyes searching Matthew, and when they finally found him, he wasn't with his girlfriend either. He was sitting away in a coach in a far corner drinking a drink in his hand, his eyes collided with hers despite the distance between them. Lola's felt her heart missed a beat, she turned to look away at once. Her heart was beating loudly on her rib cage, was Matthew really looking directly at her. Slowly, she turned to look back at where he was sitting, Lola coughed, spitting out the alcoholic drinks that nestled in her mouth.
Matthew was lookly at her! Oh God, what to do? She tried to act like she wasn't affected by his looks. The way his calm eyes smothered hers, God! She shouldn't be looking at him, he was someone's boyfriend, what was wrong with her?
But the way heart danced but her eyes search him out once again. She felt like a high school girl once again. But Matthew was sitting there any more. Her head wrenched round, scanning the room, still no sign of Matthew. Where had he gone to? She wanted to have a look of him again, it sent shivering sensations down the spine of her back. She sighed, drowning down the rest of her drink.
"Looking for me?" Matthew's deep voice startled her that her eyes bulged and the bottle fell off her hand.
