Jerry walked like he was being chased by someone. He slammed the door shut behind him, locking the door. Louis stared at him wide eyes then looked at the wall clock, it was twenty minutes after eight. "Are you just returning from tutoring?" Louis asked him. "No," he lied, walking towards where his brother sat. "Did you see Meliana on your way in?" "No, was she here?" "Hm," he nodded. Jerry sat beside his brother, and Louis turned to study him, "You smell strange," Louis said. "Strange?" Jerry looked up at him, as if being caught in a wrong act. "And you smell differently, not like the usual you," "Will you shut up?" Jerry stood up at once, pissed. "Look at your shirt, it's inside out," Jerry looked down at his shirt, his eyes bulged out from their sockets. "Did you sleep with someone else?" Louis asked out of curiosity. "Just shut the hell up, will you!" Jerry barked, threw his cross bag at him then storm off. ******* Lola was crossing over to the other side of the road when she felt swirled round to face Matthew. It was a weekend, and she had gone off to buy some groceries from the shopping mall. She had no idea that she was being followed by Matthew. "You have been avoiding me," he eyed her, studying her. Feigning some anger, she slapped him across his face. People stared at them as they passed on, "Never try this on me next time, cause the next time you do this, you will never like my reaction," "Like right now?" He side grinned. Embarrassed by her slap, he pushed himself backwards, and walked away from her. And Lola suddenly regretted her action, she watched him as he walked off. She wished he would linger still but she had pushed him away. Why was she avoiding him? And to what end of the world will she run to? ****** Meliana came to see Jerry but he wasn't in the house. This time around, she told herself that she was going to wait for as long as possible. "Even on a weekend, he still does tutor," Meliana snickered to herself. And as usual, Jerry lay entwined in May-Jane embraces. They had just finished their usual lesson. She smiled up at him as she caress his face and his lips. "I told my friends in school about you," she started. "What did they say?" He was curious to know. "Some of my friends were jealous, few were happy for me except one. I don't really like her," "What did she say?" "She said I'm only doing this because my parents are not around. She added that I will one day regret my cat of fornication as she put it," Guilt stabbed Jerry's heart when he heard that. His facial expression took a change, that girl was damn right. "Nevertheless, I'm quite happy that I have found my future husband," she reached out to hug him. He stopped her briefly, "And who is this your future husband?" he asked her. "You. I want to get to know you as I do your body," her hands went down his body. He stopped her wandering hands quickly, "Do you really intend to marry me?" "Of course," she said, "All you have to do is wait for me while I grow much older," she smiled at him. He smiled, nodding his head foolishly at her then he pushed her away from him slightly as he sat up to reach for his briefs. Who was fooling who? This girl was living in a fantasy world, a world of her own. "Did I say something offensive?" She asked him as she noticed his change of demeanor. He scoffed as he looked back at her, "You absolutely think that I will marry you?" He had to ask the question again. She nodded, "Won't you marry me?" She had to sit up. He stared down at her beautiful body then buried his face in his hands, "aoh God, what have I done?" he said to himself as he tried to remember how it had all started. It was his fault, it was definitely his fault. He shouldn't have allowed her wear those titillating clothes, he should have opposed them. He should have said something about this to her parents. And he shouldn't have touched her. She was a spoilt brat, darn too spoilt to the core. He looked up at her, "May-Jane, you are sixteen going on seventeen while I am twenty four going on twenty five. By the time you are twenty-four, I will probably be married with children," he turned away, standing up to his feet. "What are you trying to say? That we will not get married? All you have to do is to just wait for me," She had gotten brazen, too bold to point out what she wanted. He wanted to smack those words off her mouth. Now, indignation was settling in his heart. If only..... "I'm saying you are being too daft, stupid and childish," he said blatantly. She scoffed as she tried to grab the meaning of what he had just said to her. Some minutes ago, they were all over each other and now, this? "You are matured in all of these," he indicated her body, "But right here, you are a child," he said as he touched his head. He wore his shirt as he kept on starring at her, her mouth was agape, unable to believe what was happening. He knew that she wouldn't tell her parents about what had transpired between them. They might never believe her even if she told them a lie. She had told him so, previously. Her parents trusted him afterall. She fought herself not to break down and cry at the verbal abuse thrown at her. "I am leaving," he said as he took hold of his cross bag, turning to the door. "You are going no where, no way are you leaving me in doubt of our relationship! I do not understand you. I need you to explain yourself to me," she said to him as she stood before her door, blocking him from leaving her room. He laughed to himself, pushed her out if his way that she fell to the floor. He gave her one sad look then left.
