"So what did he say Minji", Felix asked as soon as the teacher finished the class. "Oh nothing really", Minji responded shrugging. "You threatened him too, didn't you", Jisung asked as well. "Well, you could say that", Minji responded with a shy smile. "What did you say to him", Felix asked whispering. "Why are you whispering", Minji asked back playfully imitating Felix. "Do you really want every commoner here to hear the story", Jisung asked emphasizing the word 'commoner'. "And you sir is also a commoner yourself", Minji responded making Hyunjin and Seungmin laugh. "Let's just say we'll be having some peace up our sleeves for the meantime, I would say around a week or two tops", Minji continued making the four nod their heads. Not long after, Minho came running in their classroom frantically looking for Minji. "What the hell has gotten into you", Minho asked visibly upset. "Chill out bro, what are you so worked up about", Minji asked back chuckling. "Driving a car to school and bringing out a hefty amount of cash in front of a bunch of students? Have you gone nuts Minji", Minho asked shaking up Minji's shoulders. "We both know we can't keep our identities hidden for the rest of our lives Mathieu", Minji responded whispering. "We can Minji if it weren't for you blowing it up", Minho said now whispering as well. "I am not Minji and you know that, I am not destined to be Lee Minji and we can't ever change our fate", Minji responded this time a little bit too loudly.
"Shut up Minji, you're causing a scene", Minho whispered as he leaned closer to Minji gritting his teeth. "We both know that our damn father, that damn monsieur le duc or whatever he shall be called, will reveal our identities one way or another, sooner or later and you know damn well that we wouldn't have control over the flames that he will set fire to once that happens. Think about it, why do you think I am trying to build connections behind your back? Because I want us to have multiple back ups. Face it big brother, we can't keep on living in the shadows our whole lives, we're just not destined to be. As much as you try to deny it, our lives just isn't in the palm of our hands, our father is also in the game and he has some damn powerful cards that he's keeping up back", Minji explained lengthily making Minho release his grip from Minji's shoulders and taking a step back. "If you don't play your cards right, we're done for. Think about that long and hard because I've already made my decision and I'm not gonna wait around for you until you have a change of heart because if you want to go down then go ahead. Not me. I'm not allowing myself to succumb to whatever our father wants without putting up a fight. I am not anyone's puppet anymore", Minji now whispered as she leaned towards Minho gritting her teeth this time while trying to keep a straight face.
"You know what? Fine. Do your thing. Don't come running back to me when you've had enough of your stupid little game and want to get back to reality", Minho said taking another step back from Minji just before walking out their classroom. "Are you alright", Felix asked making Minji sit down. Minji just nodded conservatively as a response. "I just don't get why he wants to keep it lowkey so much", Jisung suddenly asking catching Minji's attention. "He believes that if he keeps it lowkey, our father will eventually get off our backs seeing how willing we were to be commoners", Minji explained making Jisung cough not expecting that Minji will actually answer his stupid question. "Okay that's just straight up stupid", Hyunjin reacted with a concerned look on his face. "That's what I have been telling him and he wouldn't listen", Minji responded frustratingly. "I don't think that is the real reason behind his eagerness to go with his plan", Hyunjin said making Minji furrow her eyebrows. "What do you mean", Minji asked as they all faced Hyunjin. "I don't know, just my hunch that he's not telling you the real reason behind his eagerness to go on with his plan because if you think about it, that reasoning of his that you just said doesn't really make someone so eager to live a lowkey life when he is fully aware that he could have everything in the world", Hyunjin responded shrugging.
"You do have a point", Minji replied. "Of course I do", Hyunjin responded making Minji have a sour expression on her face. "You just ruined your moment", Seungmin commented making Felix and Jisung laugh. "Is it possible you have a talk with him", Minji asked facing Jisung. "Why me", Jisung asked back startled. "Well it's only you who can get him to spill information", Minji responded. "When did I even do that", Jisung asked as he faced Felix, Seungmin, and Hyunjin shifting gazes from person to person. "Do you seriously need a memory refresher because there are a bunch of instances", Felix said as soon as Jisung looked at him. "But this is different. If he was so persistent to not let Minji know then how will I convince him to tell me that", Jisung asked pointing at Minji. "Okay then you suggest a way we get him to spill then", Minji said. "How about you talk to him and ask him yourself instead of just sucking up all his bullshit and believing every word he says", Jisung responded making Minji gasp. "Oh yeah like I haven't tried that before", Minji said sarcastically. "You really haven't Minji", Felix reacted making Minji frown. "Don't talk to him as if you're against him, he just wants to protect you at all costs. Instead, talk to him and show him how you want the both of you to get through all these together so whatever his real reason is, you have to know too because you can't go through something together if you aren't really on the same page such as this", Hyunjin said knocking some sense into Minji.
"That's the most sense-filled thing you've ever said your whole life", Jisung teased earning a punch from Hyunjin. "Yeah, I guess you're right", Minji said making Hyunjin stand up and raise two fists in the air as if celebrating a victory. "Stay seated, damn it", Seungmin said pulling Hyunjin to seat back down. "But I don't think he'll speak to me given our interaction just a few minutes ago", Minji thought out loud. Just before any of them could react to Minji's statement, a teacher entered their classroom. "Lee Minji? Is Lee Minji here", the teacher asked looking for Minji. Minji then stood up raising her right hand gesturing that she's there. "The principal wants you in the office again", she said making Minji nod. "Save me a pizza roll, okay", Minji told the four with a wide smile just before following behind the teacher towards the principal's office yet again. She calmly made her way to the office as she felt the stares of the students on her while she was walking past them. She then knocked three times on the door again before entering. "Have a seat", the principal said as soon as she entered. She stopped on her tracks the moment she saw the other person sitting across the principal's desk. "I am as equally shocked and confused as you are', Minho finally said seeing Minji's confused expression.
"Please have a seat Ms. Lee, I have something important to discuss to the both of you", the principal continued making Minji comply. "As much as I want to deny it, I took your suggestion Ms. Lee and what you promised me never happened, instead, the exact opposite happened", the principal started it off making Minji furrow her eyebrows at how fast he did what Minji told him to. "Okay? Where is this going", Minji asked now raising an eyebrow. "They want the both of you kicked out from this school", the principal continued making Minji stand up in frustration. "What? What did you tell them", Minji asked yelling as she started to pace back and forth. "I don't see why that is important right now", the principal responded avoiding the question. "You don't see how stupid you are? Gosh. How did you even get to that position when you are this damn stupid", Minji was practically screaming at this point. "Ms. Lee, I suggest you calm down as this type of behavior wouldn't be tolerated", the principal calmly said. "Oh please! It's your stupidity that shouldn't be tolerated! I was basically handing you a once in a lifetime opportunity and what did you do? You fucking blew it off! Do you know how often I give away this opportunity? You are the fucking first damn it you're such a waste", Minji continued to yell now slamming her hand on his desk repeatedly in frustration.
"Minji calm the fuck down, okay? You're being irrational", Minho finally said standing up as well and getting ahold of Minji. Minji then breathed deep and calmed herself down, fixed her composure and stood tall once she was sure her rage subsided. "Fine then. Prepare to give up your position because I'm not going anywhere. I did warn you earlier. I suggest you start packing up. This meeting is over", Minji said before walking out the office with Minho following along. "Minji", Minho called which Minji ignored and continuously walked. "Lee Minji", Minho continued to call now getting ahold of her making Minji stop on her tracks. "What do you want", Minji asked finally facing him. "What is your problem", Minho asked back. "I should be the one asking you that", Minji said making Minho strike a confused look towards her. "What the hell do you mean", Minho continued to ask. Minji just sighed and looked directly unto her brother's eyes. "Tell me honestly what is the real reason behind your plan", Minji said as she continued to stare at her brother's eyes. "Again, what do you mean", Minho repeatedly asked. "Stop with the act already. I am not buying that sob story anymore. Talk to me when you are ready to tell me everything and actually cooperate with me because I won't allow myself to be bossed around anymore. Either we work together or you go on your own", Minji said with a blank expression.
"This isn't something to be discussed here Minji", Minho responded whispering. "You already bought enough time making me believe your nonsense. If this type of thing shouldn't be discussed here then where? When? You'll say literally anything just to have me off of your back and continue being your puppy blindly following you around", Minji angrily said before storming off leaving Minho with no other choice. "Fine. You want to know the truth? Come with me", Minho said catching Minji and dragging her along. "Now you want to talk? Let go of me damn it", Minji whined. "Let's talk about this once and for all", Minho said as he continuously dragged Minji until they reach the rooftop of the school. "Don't waste my time", Minji said when Minho finally let go of her arm. "Here", Minho said tossing Minji what seems to be a gold token. "What the fuck is this", Minji asked the moment she caught it. "That shit is what ties me to my royal title", Minho said making Minji confused. "How does a single token tie you to your royal title", Minji asked as she examined the golden token. "The day I was born, our father basically sold my soul to be of service in royalty, that piece of token serves as the symbol of that", Minho explained as he pointed at the golden token with disgust. "Okay? What if you deny to serve that duty", Minji asked as she returned the golden token.
"They'd kill me. So yes, you're right. Damn it Minji, you're fucking right, our father is in the game as well but I was destined to lose from the fucking start. There was already an agreement way before the day I was born making me alive to serve that only purpose, and once I choose to deny to serve that duty, they'd take away what they gave me which is my life. Once that happens, it will be you who will be appointed in my stead. Trust me Minji, I don't want to do that to you. So to answer your question, I am eager to live this kind of life not because our father will eventually see our eagerness to live a normal life, rather I want you to experience this type of world and make you have your own choice on which type of life you'd want to venture on. I want you to experience the freedom that we never had with our father and we wouldn't have if you choose to stand by me. I won't ever escape my responsibility because I want you to live your life freely Minji", Minho lengthily explained making Minji speechless.
