13: Kind Of Back To Normal

As the weekend ended, they have to head back to school yet again. "Can't we take your car to school", Jisung asked somewhat whining making Minji smack the back of his head. "Okay one, my car is still being repaired, and second, I don't want to be the talk of the school like seriously one day we are just some broke high school kids now we are pulling up in a sports car? Be for real", Minji said in one breath as Jisung caressed the part of his head that Minji hit. "Plus, it's not you who will look cool, it will be Minji since she will be the one driving", Felix commented making Jisung frown. "Let's just go, we have our bikes outside", Hyunjin said as he looked at the time noticing they were about to be late if they don't leave as soon as possible. "I'll wait for you outside", Minji said as she headed for the door and heading out. The four then hurriedly collected their things and heading out as well. When they reached their bikes, they realized that Minji was nowhere to be found. They immediately looked around searching for her. Just as they were about to head back inside they heard a car honk just outside the gates. As they turned around to spot the car, they saw a red convertible being driven by Minji. "What are you waiting for", Minji asked with a smile making the four confused for a second. "Come on hop in", Minji continued making the four immediately run towards the car.
As soon as they were all settled, Minji stepped on the gas and speedily drove through the streets. "This is more like it", Jisung said from the back. "I would be punching you if I was beside you", Felix said being seated by the passenger seat next to Minji. "We will be the talk of the school for all the wrong reasons", Seungmin nervously said. "And why should we care", Hyunjin asked. "We should care because I don't want anyone else to know my secrets", Minji responded making Hyunjin awkwardly cough. "Then why are we driving this sweet convertible to school", Jisung asked. "Because I'm dropping out", MInji answered nonchalantly shocking the four. "What? No. Minji no", Felix reacted now facing Minji. "I was just kidding chill out", Minji responded making the four sigh in relief. "I think it's time I slowly unveil who I really am. I can't hide or just simply forget who I really am. I can't keep on being this nobody for the rest of my life because one way or another, I know one day my father will name me and tell the world who I really am and I can't keep on hiding in the shadows, I know he will find me no matter where I hide. People will start to think of me differently even treat me differently but I know you four will stay the same and I am beyond thankful for that", Minji explained silencing the four.
After an almost ten minute drive, they reached school grounds and as expected, they earned looks especially knowing that their bunch is not known to have a bunch of money at all. "Prepare yourselves, worst case scenario is they'll accuse us of something that has to do with the president's son and Nari and we can't really get them to speak up because I wouldn't allow them I want their identities here to remain dead", Minji said as she slowly pulled up by the parking area. One by one, they then exited the car now earning whispers. As they started walking, one teacher walked up to them in a hurry. "Lee Minji, is that your car", the teacher asked somewhat nicely because she was talking to Minji but they instantly saw the fake aura she was exuding. Minji just nodded in response. "Well you can't really park there darling, that's our principal's parking spot", the teacher tried reasoning with Minji but she didn't really listen that as the teacher was talking, she was slowly taking out her wallet from her backpack. "How much for the parking space", Minji asked as she held unto her wallet looking innocently at the teacher. "How- what? No, Minji you can't just buy-", the teacher tried to continue to reason with her but got cut off by Minji. "Will this suffice", Minji asked bringing out a stack of cash totaling to an estimate amount of a thousand dollars.
"We can talk about this in the office, don't be bringing out such large amounts of cash out here", the teacher now whispering as she tried to push Minji's hand with the stack of cash towards her wallet. "With all due respect miss, I still need to attend my classes, so here take the cash and give it to our principal and tell him we can talk it out during break time", Minji responded shoving the stack of cash unto the teacher's hand and walking away as soon as she finished talking making the whispers grew louder. They ignored all the whispers and continued to proceed towards their lockers. Not even an hour passing, news spread quickly from student to student and eventually, everyone around school knows how Minji and her friends came in an awesome car and the fact that she shoved a large amount of cash towards a teacher. Just as they anticipated, they earned a bunch of judging looks from their fellow students just after their first class. "Are you sure we'll keep this up", Felix asked facing Minji. "We already started it, what's the point backing out now", Minji asked back making Felix raise both his hands in the air in defeat. "Are you sure about buying that parking spot though? Doesn't that just mean we will be driving to school everyday", Hyunjin asked whispering. "You know what? On second thought, I'll just buy the entire school instead", Minji suddenly said making the four widen their eyes towards her.
"Minji stop that, you don't have to keep on buying or paying for every damn thing that pisses you off or cause you inconvenience", Felix said a little too loudly earning a few stares. "Who ever said I'm like that", Minji asked with eyebrows furrowed yet a smile evident. "For the past few days we've been with you? Yeah I think we've observed enough", Jisung commented joining the conversation. "Okay but that doesn't mean that me buying the school isn't justifiable", Minji responded now with a frown. "I really isn't dumbass, this is a public school, it is owned by the government", Jisung said knocking some sense into Minji. "Oh yeah", was all that Minji said in response making Jisung face palm himself, including Felix. "Well I'll just have to buy this from the government then", Minji continued making the four groan in frustration. "Minji stop that. We get it, you're part of a royal family, heck you're even a princess, but don't keep throwing away money just because you've suppressed yourself from going into a spending spree all these years", Felix said now knocking some more sense into Minji seeing as how JIsung's words didn't really have any impact on her. "Okay fine fine I get it you can stop now I just kidding jeez", Minji said in defeat now making the four laugh. Just as their next class was about to start, Minji's attention was suddenly called. "Lee Minji, the principal wants you in their office", the teacher said making Minji immediately stand up and get her wallet from her bag.
"You seriously need to bring that", Felix whispered as Minji aggressively nodding before heading out the room in a hurry. She quickly made her way to the principal's office, knocking three times before entering through the door. "Ms. Lee, please have a seat", the principal said pointing towards the empty seats in front of his desk. Minji obediently doing as instructed and immediately faced him the moment she sat down. It was silent until the principal brought out the stack of cash that Minji handed to the teacher earlier. "I'll just straight up tell you Ms. Lee, this isn't the type of behavior I was expecting from you", the principal now said. "What exactly do you expect from me", Minji now asked making the principal fall silent surprised of Minji's sudden question. "Do you seriously expect me to always be this shy and timid girl, all brains no brawns? Prim and proper but no bite? Tell me Mr. Principal, what type of behavior do you expect from me", Minji continued to ask seeing that she isn't getting any response. "Will that not suffice? Tell me right now Mr. Principal. Or should I just buy off this entire school and have you kicked out from your position and banned from every other school", Minji continued to ask now somewhat threatening him. "Why are you doing this Minji? What has suddenly gotten into you", the principal now asked trying to keep a calm and collected face.
"Do you really wanna know what has gotten into me and why I'm behaving the way I am right now", Minji asked back. "Of course I do Minji, I want to keep the peace in this school and resolve any problem there is", the principal responded which ultimately seems fake to Minji. "Mr. Principal, I hate to break it to you but I can run this entire school, heck even run the entire country in the palm of my hands, I just don't see how I'll benefit from that, plus I have an existing feud with my own father, so for now I am doing you a favor by letting you keep your position by letting me have what I want", Minji responded making the principal laugh. "You don't have a father Lee Minji", he said still laughing. "He's alive and well and you wouldn't want to meet him trust me on that", Minji responded silencing the principal. "But the choice is now yours to make, will you give me what I want or will you want to have it the hard way", Minji now asked. "Is the parking space the only thing you want", the principal asked as he held unto the stack of cash realizing that it wouldn't hurt to give up his parking space for Minji. "I also want your silence regarding this", Minji said now in an authoritative tone. "I hate to break it to you but there were a bunch of students watching earlier", the principal said with a weirded out expression.
"Exactly why I want your silence, you speak to no one regarding this interaction of ours, when the topic gets brought up, you change the subject and don't ever talk about it. This includes any topic or issue regarding me and my friends, you say and react nothing, everything clear", Minji elaborated standing up and placing her hand on the desk. She then received no reaction, only a blank expression. "Smile there buddy, that look doesn't suit you. Now if you don't need me anymore here, I'll be heading back to my class, okay", Minji said removing her hand from said desk and fixing her composure. "Here, something to cheer you up, eat somewhere nice with your family tonight", Minji continued now going through her wallet then handing the principal another stack of cash now totaling the amount on his desk at around two thousand dollars. "I know the government doesn't pay you much, well they're the ones benefitting from my father's hefty donations or whatever they want to call it, so here, tell them this name and they will also pay you for your silence, the monsieur le duc part is important, okay? Don't forget that, oh and you can also tell them this name and they'll give you the stars, just tell them that these names came from Madeleine and Mathieu, don't forget these names, okay", Minji now grabbed a pen and paper on the desk and wrote the names she just mentioned including her own and her brother's.
"Who are these? And who are you really? Should I still be calling you Lee Minji", the principal now asked as he read through the names she listed. "Trust me, you wouldn't want to know who I really am. It's best that you call me Lee Minji for everyone's safety", Minji answered as she reached for the door just before fully exiting the office leaving the principal speechless of how the situation escalated so quickly.
