Apple's Point of View
Friday came and we survived that day barely. My Aunt and Grandma arrived late and they looked so exhausted but they didn't really reveal what happened. I have classes today and I can't excuse myself because there's a test that we need to do in order to pass.
"Are you sure you're going to be safe there, Apple?" Aunt Alona worriedly asks. I say my goodbye to Paul as he was awakened too early. I nodded and bid my goodbye to my Aunt also.
"I am going to stay safe there, Auntie. He won't be bold and harm me in the crowd because he's a wanted man himself so let's not worry for me. Also grandfather would be a big help to me not to get in danger, bye" I said and went out.
My grandfather is now ready to go and is just waiting for me. I saw my grandmother and bid my goodbye to her. I also hugged her and kissed her.
"Take care there, my granddaughter" She said and let me go to go to my grandfather. He also bid his goodbye.
He started the engine and drove us off there. He went to the forestry way not to let the staff of my Dad's brother see us and caught us. I was texting on the phone because I'm going to be late like usual.
They told me it would be impossible that the teacher for our subject would go earlier because he's also a latecomer. So I get to relax with that information. We were somehow done with our project and just needed to document it.
And that falls under my task. I ordered one of my groupmate to handle the second video and I don't know if she would do it, I hope she would because it isn't an individual task anymore. But she ain't responding still.
We got to my school thirty minutes later than usual. I was an early bird so I won't be scolded if I once came late. When I entered the room, the teacher wasn't still there and later on got announced that he won't come because he got the flu.
I was really angry by that news because he didn't know what I got through to come to school today because he said that there's going to be a test!
"Renz would announce bad news to you," Alina said. I was anticipating the bad news, what is it going to be?
"Natasha just dropped off today so she wouldn't do the task" Renz announced. I was a bit surprised but I think my hunches went right that she won't do it.
"But we would help you with the documentary right, Ezekiel?" He said and stared at his friend who just nodded while scrolling through his phone. I was trying not to smile because of what I'm thinking.
I'm so shameless right now and I reminded myself that my parents are out there still abducted by the people they know and I don't have any rights to smile or be happy.
"Okay" What I simply said. They discussed more and I listened to them well while also giving an idea.
I'm so bored and want to just go home and see my mom and dad teasing each other with me and Paul playing chess or whatever board game we picked. I miss that time where my problem only revolved on how i can beat my brother.
Now it's very different. I'm now in my adulting phase where I can understand everything. At some point I'm really no help. I understand but I can't say anything nor I can't interfere because I'm still a child, a teen.
"You okay?" Renz asked me when he noticed that I was quiet. I nod and just stay quiet, I never darted my eyes on him anymore.
"Let's go to the convenience store and buy some food, I'm hungry" Alina says and drags me out of the room. I know that if she does that, she will have some tea spilling up. I just let her because we didn't even have a teacher now.
"Sis, I have a lot to tell you. First off, I'd like to ask you, "Who did you get an eye on first in our room?" She started.
If I'm going to be honest, Renz piqued my interest first but because he's my secret and hidden crush, I may just go with someone we didn't really talk about. And that's one of Frederic's friends.
"Oh, so mine is Frederic because of that day" She said. She still remembers that day and what I just falsely revealed. I might not have a chance to talk about it to Renz because he might not believe it.
"I said it to Renz yesterday," She added. That piqued my interest as Renz answered. I mean, I don't really think that Renz would pick me as the one who piqued his interest at first. But I'm still curious who he answered.
"Who does he pick?" I asked her. We continue to walk, passing by the guard who's watching and just get out of the premises.
"I don't actually remember who," She said. That brings me down and my curiosity kills me so much. Why did she forget that person? That can't be possible not to remember because it's just one name.
I'd just forget about it and pick my meal in the convenience store. I'm going to eat because I haven't eaten when we left.
"Oh, Rena! Why did you drop off from school? Are you pregnant now?" She went near Rena so I have no choice but to go near her too.
We made eye contact with each other but she rolled her eyes on us and went away from us. I think she just went to the convenience store to buy food but because of Alina's words, she went away.
"Why did you have to say that?" I asked Alina. That could be badly wrong and I may be the one who she thinks creating that rumour.
"But it's the only reason I've got in my head for her to drop out because she's some whore herself. Anyways let's just get our stuff and go to the room again" She said and picked up some stuff.
That was a pretty bad attitude for her. I don't think that I could be her friend for a while, I'm just going to give it to her until our graduation day comes. I could still use her for my will to get the attention of Renz.
Which of course I knew is bad but they seem very close now. What can I do now? I must really still have her to update me on whatever Renz is up to. But I think she also has some disadvantages since she's secretive herself.
But I don't want to be an outcast so I'm going to still talk to them and let them know we're friends even if I don't like her attitude. I'm pretty much the worst now because of what I'm thinking. I wonder if Jeca and Ayen also think of me this way.
As we enter the room, I expect them to tease each other and well because I get jealous with the sight, I went silently to my chair and didn't acknowledge them. That day was really unfair to me, huh. They seem to get close while I'm pretty much having troubles.
"Oh, Renz wants to know where we'd go for the seminar. They want to come with us" She said once she came back to her chair.
I took a glance at Renz and he was staring at me. I just broke contact to see Alina. Ayen and our other friends took the opportunity to go get their meal too. I wonder why Alina, Ayen and our other friends didn't talk anymore.
"Renz!" She calls Renz again. What now? I'm really pissed off by the presence of Alina and I don't think she was good use for me and my crush.
"Do you follow me back on Instagram, huh? I said follow me back!" She said and punched Renz. I keep quiet while staring at them, they look cute together and that envies me. I look around and see Jay going near me.
"How's your day?" He started. I smiled at him and talked about something. He plans on going somewhere and asking me how many hours it will take for him to arrive there.
"If you're going to commute, it will take pretty much 3-4 hours" I said. I know how hard it is to commute nowadays so I really try my best to compute. He also thinks about it and argues with me. He thinks that it may take 5-6 hours and that surprised me.
I didn't think of Renz at that time and had fun with Jay. He's safe because he has a girlfriend and I have no plans on going their way. I didn't want to see them teasing each other so I needed to distract myself.
