CHAPTER 19

"Nephilim?" Rose exclaimed skeptically, unsure of what Seth had told her. She stood up and laughed. "Are you serious?"
"Yes, you are a Nephilim, a half-angel and half-human," Seth replied.
"I know what a Nephilim is, Seth. Is this some kind of joke?"
"You can laugh and doubt all you want, Rose, but you can't change the fact that you are a Nephilim."
Rose stopped laughing when she saw the sincerity in Seth's expression. Her ears started ringing again, accompanied by severe pain in her temple. She winced, looking at Seth who was still smiling at her.
"You need to take this seriously, Rose. Our lives are at stake," he said, his voice echoing in her mind.
"Did you say something?" Rose asked Seth.
"Yes, Rose, I am talking to you right now through your mind. This is one of your gifts," he paused, still smiling with closed lips, "the ability to communicate using your mind."
"My head hurts," Rose said, holding her temples with her hands.
"It's because you're not used to it, Rose," he reassured her. The pain slowly faded away from her head.
"Oh geez, Seth, please don't do that again. It hurt so bad," she pleaded.
Seth offered his hand to her. "Come, let's take a walk," he suggested. Rose took his hand and followed him.
"If I am a Nephilim, then one of my parents is a fallen angel, right?" she asked, looking at Seth as they walked towards the hill.
"Yes," Seth answered telepathically.
"Damn! Will you please just talk to me? I hate using telepathy..." She struggled to find the right word, her mouth hanging open.
"Telepathy," Seth said, using his gift and chuckled.
"Seth, I'm not comfortable with that. My head hurts so bad. Let's be normal, please?"
Seth nodded and smiled. "As you wish, young lady. But promise me not to interrupt me when I speak?"
Rose nodded nervously and rubbed her temples.
"Very well, then. I'll tell you everything I know, and I'll answer your questions as best I can," he told her as they continued walking towards the hill.
"Yes, please tell me everything so that I can understand," she said, walking beside him.
"First, what do you know about fallen angels, young lady?" Seth asked once they reached the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Rose gazed at the beautiful tree, still listening to Seth.
"A fallen angel is an angel that has been exiled or banished from heaven as a punishment for disobeying and rebelling against God. Like Lucifer or Satan?" she answered proudly.
"Correct," Seth said, his hand touching the stems of the tree. "And do you know Lucifer?" he asked.
"Lucifer is Satan? And Satan is also Lucifer?" she answered, unsure.
"Lucifer is the 'Bringer of Light.' He is the most beautiful of all angels and second to God in power. He was a Seraph, like Satan, the highest rank of angels. However, his pride and jealousy consumed him. He envied God whenever his fellow angels bowed down to Him and worshipped Him. After God created humans, He instructed the angels to bow down to mankind, especially to His son Jesus. But out of jealousy and pride, Lucifer refused, stating that he would never bow down to humans, not even to Jesus or His mother Mary. He managed to convince a third of the angels in Heaven to follow him. This led to a great battle, where angels fought against each other until Lucifer and his followers were cast out from heaven, falling like lightning. Many fell from heaven and roamed the Earth, mingling with people. Some even chose to become human and married the daughters of the Earth. However, most followed Lucifer, becoming demons and tempting men to disobey God," Seth explained, his face reflecting sadness.
"What about Satan? Is he the same as Lucifer?" Rose asked, curious.
"Lucifer and Satan are not the same. They are both Seraphs who revolted against God out of jealousy and pride. They both mingled with humans and vowed to destroy mankind, to separate them from God's grace. Just as Satan did with Adam and Eve, tempting them to sin and lose paradise, which is heaven," Seth explained, bitterness in his voice. He didn't smile. "Beware, Rose, because they want your body to accomplish the destruction of humanity. They want you dead so they can claim your body and live an immortal life, to continue their mission of destroying mankind. The body of a Nephilim grants them immortality. You must also protect your brother, Julius, as he is also a Nephilim. They will stop at nothing to make it happen," Seth warned, his concerned eyes locked onto hers.
Rose covered her mouth with her hand, unable to believe what Seth was telling her. How could this fallen angel revelation come to her so suddenly, when she had only experienced it just yesterday? Now she and her family were in great danger from these fallen angels. Was this really happening, or was it all just a dream? Could she trust Seth, whom she had only met last night, as he told her she was a Nephilim? She was genuinely worried about her life, Julius, and her parents.
"Seth?" she called out to him.
"Yes, Rose?"
"Which of my parents is the fallen angel?" she asked, her voice filled with uncertainty.
Seth fell silent, his gaze fixed on her with a dry smile on his face.
"Seth, is it my dad or my mom?" she pressed. Seth turned his gaze towards the trunk of the tree, placing his hand on it, trying to sense its energy. Then, he looked back at her.
"Is it my dad, isn't it?" Rose moved closer to him, seeking confirmation.
"Why do you think it's your father?" he mockingly questioned. Rose opened her mouth but couldn't find the right words to answer. Seth continued to gaze at her.
"What does your intuition tell you?" he asked gently, his face friendly and smiling.
"I just feel a connection to him. Most of the time, when I'm in danger, I hear his voice in my mind, giving me warnings that something is wrong. It's similar to what you did earlier, the telepathy thing," she explained, feeling more confident that her father was the fallen angel.
Seth nodded, confirming her belief that her father was a fallen angel.
"This means that my father is..." Rose felt a lump in her throat, preventing her from saying the last word.
"...evil?" she finished, almost in a whisper.
"Do you think your father is evil?" Seth asked, searching her face.
"If he's a fallen one, he might be," she replied in a dry tone.
"Your father is not like them, Rose. He may be a fallen angel, but that doesn't mean he's like the others. Angels have free will, just like humans. With that free will, he chose to leave and shed his angelic nature. He never revolted against God, unlike the others," Seth explained. "When you wake up from this, the first thing you should do is talk to your father, Rose. He is the right person to explain everything to you."
Rose's face grew serious. She needed to talk to her father urgently. She needed his explanations to truly understand and discover who her father truly was. She had to set aside her anger towards her father's infidelity and speak with him. The weight of Seth's words weighed heavily on her, far more than she had expected. She was fearful for her life, especially for Julius. Now that she had learned she was a Nephilim, it felt more like a curse than something to take pride in as the daughter of a fallen angel.
She can still remember when she was in grade school, attending her cousin's birthday party and loving every moment of wearing her angel costume. She walked proudly, with a halo on her head and wings made of white feathers. She still remembers how everyone at the party was mesmerized by her beauty. Now, she wasn't sure if she still wanted to be like that.
Rose noticed Seth's expression suddenly change to one of worry.
"I can't blame you if this makes your life more miserable. Your father has made many enemies among the fallen angels. He is part of the prophecy shown to John, the apostle, and Lucifer won't rest until he finds a way to stop that prophecy," he explained, feeling sorry for her fate.
"My father has enemies among the fallen angels, and you're referring to the prophecy of John in the Book of Revelation?" Rose asked, confused.
Seth nodded.
"According to John's prophecy, it is Michael the Archangel who will destroy the old dragon, Lucifer..." Rose's gaze shifted from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil to Seth.
"...this means, my father is..." Her eyes were fixed on him. Seth bowed his head to her.
"Oh, God," she covered her mouth with her hand and felt her knees weaken as she realized who her father was.
"Yes, Rose, it is Michael the Archangel. Your father," Seth said. "And Lucifer is seeking revenge on your father by snatching your soul and possessing either your body or your brother's."
"I still don't understand... it all happened so fast that I no longer know what is real and what is not," she ran both hands from her face up to the back of her head.
"I thought Lucifer was chained in Hell and remained asleep, waiting to be awakened when the Armageddon comes," Rose said, wiping away the tears from her eyes. Seth tapped her on her shoulder.
"You need to be strong, Rose. This is just the beginning. Someone has summoned Lucifer and wants him to awaken. Someone who has great knowledge about angels, and whoever they are, I believe they seek revenge against your father."
"What?" She stared at Seth. "And why would they do that? What did my father do to them? Are they out of their minds?" She added.
"Lucifer has followers too. As I said, they want revenge on your father because he's the one who defeated Lucifer and helped God banish him from heaven. You are your father's daughter and a Nephilim," Seth took a deep breath and sighed.
"Rose, you need to go back now, be strong, and use your gifts to protect your family. Ever since you saw the shadow taking the woman's soul in the accident, they knew you were a Nephilim. Only the Nephilim and the dying can see the shadows. They are evil spirits created by the demons to snatch human souls and prevent them from entering God's kingdom. As a Nephilim, they want to consume your soul and possess your body. Your soul will give them power, the gifts you will inherit from your father, and the immortality from your body," he held Rose's hand and touched the scar on her wrist. "This mark will help protect you from them. It is your father's symbol, and you should be proud of it. Always trust your soul and trust no one." Then Seth's image started to glow with a blinding light in front of her.
"Seth, wait!" She held Seth's hand, which felt icy cold against her skin.
"Who are you?" She shouted at him as he slowly vanished into the blinding light. She saw him smile at her and heard his voice in her mind.
"I am the one who delivered God's messages to Abraham about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. I am the one who informed Mary about conceiving Jesus in her womb and the one who delivered God's message to Mohammad. I AM GABRIEL, God's angel..." Seth's voice faded. "...God's messenger." And the voice turned into a whisper.
Then Rose felt a bright white light envelop her body, accompanied by a feeling of lightheadedness and nausea. She found herself seated beneath a coconut tree, feeling uneasy as she tried to look around and adjust her eyes to the afternoon light. She thought it was just a weird dream, but when she saw the mark on her right wrist, she knew she hadn't dreamt what she had seen. Then her attention was drawn to a woman's scream from the shore. She turned her gaze towards the woman and saw her desperately crying for help as she looked at the sea.
"My son! Help my son, somebody, please! He's drowning!" she screamed in a high-pitched tone. But no one seemed to move to save her son from drowning. Rose was about to move when she noticed three shadows circling the drowning teenage boy, gliding above him as lightning bolts struck the dark sky
