The rough sea made the Island Police feel nervous as they traveled on their boats, facing the strong winds brought by the approaching storm. The strong wind almost blew the policeman's hat, but the officer's quick hands were able to catch it before it landed in the water. There are at least forty-five people on the island, and there are enough boats to rescue them. Most of these people are now waiting on the shore to be rescued. Roland knew that one of those people on the shore was his daughter. After the incident in the hotel, he could no longer be complacent about what would happen next. He knew what they wanted, and he would surely regret it. As the boats reached the shore, people ran towards them and raced to get on board. One of the officers helped a woman with her deceased son. The Community Chairman used the boat's speaker to inform all the tourists to leave the island as soon as possible due to the severe thunderstorm approaching. Roland jumped off the boat and started scanning the faces of the people on the island. He hurriedly ran towards the northern part of the island and saw five familiar faces running towards the shore. "Vanessa!" he called out, approaching Rose's friend. Vanessa was surprised to see Rose's father. Her heart dropped and she felt sudden fear. Agnes looked down at the ground, feeling guilty about what she did to her friend and now facing her best friend's father. Lourdes and Mercy exchanged glances, pouted their lips, and raised their brows while staring at Agnes. "Where's Rose?" Roland asked as he approached his daughter's friends. "Uncle... you're here?" Vanessa answered, unsure of how to respond regarding Rose's whereabouts. "Where's Rose?" he asked again. "I know you're with her. Where is my daughter?" His voice hardened and grew louder. "We're very sorry, uncle, for bringing Rose here. We only wanted her to join us, and we didn't..." "There's no time for this, Vanessa. All I want to know is where my daughter is." Roland raised his voice, growing angry. "I... I think she's... she's with Karl. Yes, she's with Karl, her boyfriend!" Lourdes suddenly spoke up, smiling and looking at Agnes. "Lourdes?!" Vanessa silenced Lourdes with a gaze. "My daughter has a boyfriend? And she's with him right now?!" Roland said in disbelief. Vanessa nodded, feeling it was the right thing to do. Agnes held Vanessa's cold hand, hiding her tears from Mr. Sabellano. "Where are they? You have to tell me where they are," Roland pleaded. He looked at Agnes, her head still bowed down. "Do you have something to say, Agnes, the person my daughter trusted the most?" His gaze pierced her like a spear. Agnes slowly lifted her head, attempting to meet Rose's father's gaze. "Agnes?" He sighed. "Rose treated you like her own sister, and we even treated you as our daughter. What did she do to deserve such hurt?" His face reflected his concern for his daughter. Agnes suddenly burst into tears. "I'm sorry, Uncle. I didn't mean to hurt her. Please forgive me," she pleaded. Vanessa held her friend's shoulder, wondering how Mr. Sabellano knew about what happened between Agnes and Rose. Lourdes and Mercy shared the same thoughts as they looked at Mr. Sabellano. "It is my daughter to whom you owe that forgiveness. You have..." "Dad?!" a familiar voice interrupted, causing Roland to turn towards the source. "Rose?" he said and saw his daughter on the verge of tears. Immediately, Roland rushed towards his daughter and embraced her tightly. "I'm so sorry, Dad. I didn't mean it," Rose said, crying. "I know I disappointed you. I wasn't the daughter you expected." "Sshhh... we'll deal with this later. Right now, we need to leave this place. We are in great danger," Roland said. Rose looked puzzled and noticed something on her father. "Dad, is there something you're not telling us?" she asked, looking directly into her father's eyes. "Rose, we need to leave now. Your mom and Julius are waiting for us at the hotel," he answered, shifting his attention to her daughter's friends. "Guys! Hurry to the boats now!" he commanded them like a strict coach to his varsity team. Roland noticed Brenan standing a few meters behind Rose. He gazed at the young man and sighed. "Let's go!" he said, and they quickly went to the shore and boarded the boats. Roland knew he had a lot of explanations to give to his family. Perhaps it was the right time to tell them everything they needed to know, as it might help save their lives. As a father, he would do everything to protect his family. The angry wind swirled over the rough sea, causing the boats to sway from side to side. Some of the passengers screamed each time their boats were tossed by the reckless sea. Rose was on the motorboat with her father and Brenan, along with six Korean tourists. Her eyes scanned the other boats, searching for Karl. She saw her friends on the third boat, their faces pale with fear as they hadn't been on the sea with an approaching storm before. Rose felt guilty about what she had done to her parents. She knew she had hurt them by not telling the truth about where she went. She had never mentioned her boyfriend Karl to them. All her life, she had wanted to be a good daughter they could be proud of, but now she was a disappointment. She should have been a role model for her brother, but now she was ashamed of herself for what she had done. As the boat engines started, everyone shouted with glee, knowing they were about to head back to the main island and safely reunite with their families. However, their joy was short-lived as the strong rain began to pour down on their faces and the wind intensified. The boat's engines roared, propelling them swiftly towards the main island. Some passengers prayed, while others patiently waited for the boat to reach the mainland. Rose searched desperately for Karl among the other boats but couldn't spot him amongst the passengers. Instead, she noticed Agnes staring at her, drenched and shivering from the rainwater. Surprisingly, a sense of empathy washed over Rose. Despite Agnes' actions, she couldn't help but wonder if Agnes was also a victim. Could she find it in her heart to forgive her? Perhaps, for the sake of their friendship, but she wasn't ready to offer that forgiveness just yet. As the boats reached the shore, Roland immediately jumped off and helped his daughter onto land. Brenan assisted other passengers as they disembarked, his green eyes fixated on Rose. Rose anxiously scanned the shore, her worry growing for Karl's whereabouts. What if he chose to stay on the island? What if something had happened to him? The thought of Karl enduring harm filled her with immense guilt. She couldn't forgive herself if anything bad happened to him; it would haunt her forever. Suddenly, Rose felt a cold hand touch her shoulder, causing her to jump in surprise. Gasping for air, she turned to see the face of her friend Vanessa. She attempted a smile, although she felt uneasy showing it. "Hey!" Vanessa greeted her. "Hey..." Rose replied. Vanessa embraced her tightly. "I'm so sorry for what happened. I had no idea. If only I had known, I would have stopped Agnes," Vanessa explained, pulling back to study Rose's wet face. "I know it's difficult for you to forgive our friend, Agnes, right now. I understand, and I won't judge you for it. But I believe that one day, we will be able to rebuild our friendship, just like before." Rose didn't know how to respond. She loved Vanessa like family, but she needed time to heal. Perhaps Vanessa was right – one day, she might find it in her heart to forgive Agnes. However, she couldn't make any promises about whether their relationship would be the same again. "Vanessa, thank you for being kind to me. I know I shouldn't have reacted that way towards Karl and Agnes. I'm sorry too for endangering all of your lives by bringing you here," Rose said sadly. "Don't blame yourself, Rose. We all have our flaws, which is why I'm asking for your forgiveness. Besides, Karl had nothing to do with Agnes' actions. He's innocent and has always been faithful to you. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive him, as he loves you deeply," Vanessa replied, disregarding the cold seeping into her body. Rose sighed, shaking her head, and reached out to hold Vanessa's hands. "You'll always be like a sister to me. I'll always be your friend. I believe that eventually, we will be together again, just like in the old times." They embraced once more. "Oh, by the way, have you seen Karl?" Rose suddenly asked. "Karl? I just saw him ride off on his motorcycle. He just left," Vanessa replied, scratching her head. She couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as she observed Rose's reaction to her words. Without wasting a moment, Rose raced towards the parking lot, hoping to catch Karl before he disappeared. She suppressed her tears, determined to have a conversation with him. She needed to apologize for not giving him a chance to explain, to ask for his forgiveness for giving up on him so easily. But Karl was no longer there. In that moment, Rose felt a chilling emptiness engulf her. She was alone now, with an overwhelming sense of loneliness creeping into her very being. It threatened to consume her sanity. What had she done? Why did it hurt so much now that she realized she had pushed away the man who unconditionally loved her? Once again, tears streamed down her face, mingling with the rain as the trees danced with the force of the wind. The lightning crackled with anger, as if trying to mask her pain, and the thunder rumbled in mourning for the fate of her love for Karl. "Rose?" She heard the familiar voice of a man. She turned her head and saw her father, his face filled with sympathy. Behind him stood Brenan, displaying genuine concern for her. For the first time, Rose cried on her father's shoulder. Her father embraced her tightly and she felt his love and presence that lightened her feelings. Roland caressed his daughter's back, trying to make her feel okay. He didn't want to see her that way. He was affected by how Rose tried to be strong regarding what he had done. "Ssshhh...it's okay, I am here," he said, tapping her shoulder. He looked at Rose's face and wiped the tears from her eyes. "We need to go now, your mom and Julius are waiting for us at the hotel." He kissed Rose's forehead and embraced her again. Slowly, they shuffled their feet towards the hotel lobby. Brenan nodded as Rose and her father passed in front of him. Rose turned her head to Brenan and whispered a thank you. Roland stared at Brenan mysteriously, tapped him on his shoulder, and they made their way to the hotel. Brenan stayed where he stood, his eyes fixed on Rose. He never took his eyes off them until Rose turned her head and gazed at him before they entered the lobby's glass door. The wind was still roaring in the dark sky. Flashes of lightning and cracks of thunder still made some of the people scream. Most of them were now riding their vehicles, while some were moving towards the hotel. Vanessa and her friends were now inside their vehicle. She and Agnes were seated in the back seat, while Chantelle looked in the rearview mirror, holding the steering wheel and ready to drive the car. Lourdes, Mercy, and Argel decided to ride in Henry's luxury vehicle. Lourdes laughed very loudly while watching her friend, Mercy, imitate Agnes during the confrontation. Argel was not happy with what the two women were doing. They were mocking Agnes without her knowledge. He felt sorry for his friend, Agnes. As Rose and her father entered the hotel lobby, her mom and Julius were waiting for them. Rose felt nervous the moment she saw her mother stand up from the sofa and gaze at her. Edna hurriedly went towards them. Her right hand landed on Rose's cheek, which surprised her. Rose held her cheek, waiting for her mom to speak. "You've disappointed me!" Edna shouted. "We've been looking for you the whole day, worried and with no idea of your whereabouts!" "Hey! That's enough, hon. This is not the time to confront your daughter. We need to leave this place as soon as possible," Roland said, holding his wife's shoulder. Rose fell silent, still holding her cheek. She hadn't expected her mom to slap her across the face. "No! No one is leaving here until you tell me what is happening!" Edna said in a high-pitched tone.
