Chapter Sixty three
 Mates But Not Enemies
The man stands up on his feet and he signals them to take Leo from his arms. He walks towards Logan and raises his hand to touch his face but he pulls away and takes Leo from his arms. His hand hang’s in the air and he smiles but it doesn’t reach his eyes. He turns to the direction of the king and he finally replies to him,
“It’s indeed a long time. I hope you have taken good care of my people. And it isn’t as I have heard.”
He takes a few steps forward and his feet bumps into a rising lump of sand. He falls on his knees and he raises his hand to see if there’s more. This surprise the people looking on and Tilda helps him up. He thanks her and he stands up straight as if nothing happened, he moves his leg and they see that he is about to bump into another one and this time, it’s Logan that holds him in his arm. He mutters thanks once again and when he manages to a smooth surface, he smiles and says to them,
“You should have found me out now. I have hidden from people for several years and made sure that, even before I ran from my responsibilities, no one knew the reason behind it because I thought that after a few years, I could heal my impaired eyes and no one would ever find out.”
Alpha Adelaide moves towards him and moves his eyes in front of his eyes but they don’t move but he still recognizes him and say to him,
“Adelaide, stop moving in front of me, you don’t understand how I could see without my eyes right? Did you think you stood a chance in the battle with me if my eyes were seeing like yours do? You mustn’t have forgotten that I was the best werewolf in the lands right? And it was because of that that landed me a werewolf girlfriend. Now that all of this is over, I think you should return to the kingdom.”
Suddenly Leo moves in Logan’s arms and whisper’s to him,
“Grandpa is coming with us. Wake me when arrive at the kingdom and don’t you dare refuse. You should propose this to him.”
Logan shakes his head and refuses to say it but then Leo touches his heart and before he knew it, he speaks out,
“You should come with us, or we won’t let you go back to wherever you were hiding. You should explain yourself well so we don’t think of you as an enemy.”
The man looks at Alpha Adelaide and he nods his head as well. They all move together and after several hours, after they have bathed and eaten, they all sit in the huge hall ready to listen to what Logan’s father had to say and he says to them,
“I became blind, the day that I set my eyes on you and I almost ran mad when I heard the death if your mother. I guess you don’t even know our names, her name was Lucia and I was the one that gave her that name because my name is Lucas Adelaide the cousin of your uncle Adelaide. My father was the king Alpha at the time and he died that same day that you came to this palace. To be frank, I thought of you as a curse and the reason of my ailment and your mother’s death. I didn’t want to see you or come near you but I couldn’t also kill you and so, I gave you to my cousin who brought you. We decided on a battle and of course, I would loose because as much as I had mastered my environment, I couldn’t see movements but had the use of smell. And because of that, no one could think of me as blind. Who would have thought that you would grow up to be such an amazing man? Paul came to me and told me that, Adelaide was giving the throne to his first son instead of, but as much as I hated you, I saw the man that you had become and so, I couldn’t agree to that.”
He shakes his head and continues,
“Of course, I was also fooled because I never saw through plan and had no idea that he had kidnapped the prince till now. All I did was to prove him men to protect you but I guess he knew that I couldn’t see and used it against me.”
After telling his story, Leo who was sleeping in the room appears in front of them dressed in all white and his hand behind him says to them,
“Okay, now that, this is over, we would ask of you to leave. My other grandpa has been saved but I believe that, he should be lonely. We should go back to where we came from.”
He moves to Lucas and touches his eyes and he removes some herbs from his pocket. He mashes it in his hand and smears it on his eyes. And he says to him,
“You should be healed by tomorrow, but we won’t be here by then. You can always come and visit us.”
He turns to Alpha Adelaide and says to him,
“From what I saw from Enoch’s performance on the battle field but he doesn’t know the people as Barnabas does but it’s up to you to choose your next king.”
Alpha Adelaide nods his head in agreement and he asks,
“So, when are you leaving? Next week or month”
Leo suddenly laughs out and responds to him looking in his parent’s way and says,
“I have already packed your bags and bought a plane ticket, do you still need to unpack?”
They shake their heads and stand up, Absalom and Mia joins him and they look on as they leave the hall. The king and the rest look on with surprise on their faces and Enoch finally asks the question going through their minds,
“Is he really their son or are they his children?”
The people sigh and shake their heads. Enoch stands up abruptly and shouts out,
“I can’t believe that they didn’t even say goodbye. That Leo still doesn’t take me as his uncle.’
In the plane, Logan looks at the two people beside him and he says to them with caring,
“I am going to build a kingdom for you both, one that accepts all breeds of lives, a place with diamonds that has absolute peace. The waterfall there links to the sea, you can go and come back anytime you want without interruptions and you both can feed on my love and care.’
Leo doesn’t seem to understand and so he asks scratching his hair,
“How can one feed on love and care? Won’t we starve to death? I want food and not love.”
Logan and Nadia laugh out and Nadia says to Logan,
“A place where, we can be mates and not enemies?
“You got it right!!!” Logan and Nadia shouts out at the same time and Leo joins them as they laugh their hearts out.
