Chapter sixty two- Long time, cousin.
Leo sneers and before they could blink, he stands in front of the crocodile king. The king takes a step back and he looks down at Leo, who is staring right back at him, then he suddenly speaks in a deep voice,
“Long time, no see old friend, how has your reign been since you managed to kill me?”
The man bends on his waist and he looks at Leo with an astonished expression, a smirk appears on his face and he responds to him,
“My king, did you say that I killed you? Then, what are you doing in your grandson? Or is it because you don’t have a body to call your own that’s why you say that I have killed you? How could you seal the entrance to the sea? It’s only because, you aren’t an ordinary Genasi. Could you also say that you are pure?”
Leo laughs out and responds to him,
“I should have killed you when I got the chance but my merciful heart wouldn’t allow me. Did you not know that if you hurt a Genasi automatically, you bring a curse on yourself? I didn’t curse you but whoever participated in that endeavor will be cursed along with you. You ran to the earth after the sea reacted to my dismiss and that was your mistake not mine. I can’t do anything about you returning to the sea.”
The smirk on the king’s face disappears replaced by a sneer and before Leo could react. A hurting feeling passes through his body and he hears Nadia shouting,
“Oh no!! No!! No!!! Leo!!”
He looks down at his body to see a flood of blood oozing out of his body. His eyes grow hazy and he hears the king say to him in a whisper,
“If I couldn’t send you to your ancestors before, then I don’t mind doing it now. After all as you said, you can’t do anything about it.”
Leo is falling down but then, he falls into smooth arms but they suddenly embrace him and he hears her shouting,
“Leo, take control of your bleeding, why are you letting the pain sink into your body?”
Nadia shakes him with all her strength and her hand covering the wounded part of his stomach. Leo mind links her saying,
“You have the opportunity to avenge your father’s life. I have given you the opportunity.”
Nadia shakes her head and mind links him back but then, whatever she says, all she hears is silence. She sighs loudly and stands up with no strength in her legs and she looks in the king’s eyes, her eyes changes into blue as tears descend her eyes and her hair starts standing up. The hot air at the place becomes cold and the king laughs out saying,
“You are indeed his daughter but if I have killed your father, do you think that you stand a chance?”
The man dressed in white walks to Leo and takes him in his arms as he feels the platform they are standing on shake. He jumps down and the platform breaks up, Paul couldn’t guard himself and falls to the floor. The breaking of the platform attracts the attention of the royal family and they start rushing to the place. They see Leo in the arms of the white dressed man and Nadia hunging in the air along with the crocodile king who has shifted into a full human body and they both have stretched their hands towards each other with a blue lightning coming from Nadia’s hands and a yellow one coming from the king.
The lighting meet and instead of a straight line, it divulges to the ground and start breaking up the ground like an earth quake. Logan looks up at Nadia and mind links her saying,
“Leo is in good hands, he will be fine. You shouldn’t waste your energy and allow me to deal with him.”
But then, Nadia links him back and says to him,
“He can’t be hurt with a common sword, you should look in you and bring out your abilities. Help me here by passing your powers through me, I haven’t harnessed my powers, so I’m not used to it. Hurry before he attacks me.”
It’s like the king has read their thoughts and his powers grow and surround him instead of coming from his hands. He moves towards Nadia and her powers couldn’t hurt him. Suddenly, they both turn to look down when they hear a huge roar of the biggest there could and it jumps from the floor. The king is about to dodge but Nadia pushes him with her powers and he falls right into his opened mouth. His teeth pierces his body and he cries out in pain, he gnashes his legs and his arms and his blood spills into his mouth and he suddenly spits him out. Nadia comes down slowly and stands in front of the king, she steps on his leg and he shouts out in pain and she says to him,
“How about you harness your mighty power right now? We couldn’t have you dead since we still don’t know where you’ve kept my father. For killing my mother, none of your subordinates will be left alive and we will pull out your eyes before we end you miserable life.”
They could hear rushing feet and they turn in it’s way to see Beta Paul shifted in his wolf’s form and busily running away from the scene. Alpha Adelaide shakes his head pitifully and when Enoch tries to go and get him but he stops and says to him,
“Let him go, I can’t believe that he has left his dead son behind without burying him. He has always been a weak one I guess he was influenced by you to act the way he did.”
He says and look in the way of the white dressed man who has Leo still in his arms and now staring right at Logan who has now shifted back to human. He looks at him and says to him,
“Long time, my cousin!”
