Heaven's Point of View
"You'd be the one who's going to be in charge of submitting this to the CEO, Miss Heaven Hintaña" Our senior in the marketing team spoke. I find it very ridiculous to make me incharge of work that It's not in my charge anymoreBut I long for my patience because he's the CEO and he can order anyone to do what he wants.
"Okay ma'am, I'm going to do that once I finish my workloads" I said with a smile but as I see piles of papers waiting for me on the desk I've just decided to finish submitting the papers to the CEO.
I'm really going to have to be patient if I want to survive in this company. It was just a challenge that I need to pass in order to be successful. But how I wish that my life was like Lawrence's, he didn't get a challenging course to be successful in his life.
I got through his floor and saw his secretary so I told the secretary what my purpose is here and she told me that the door was open so I won't knock anymore. I opened the door and saw him signing a lot of papers. He didn't even notice me at first so I went near him and made a sound.
"Uhm, Sir good morning this was the paperworks from the marketing team that you wanted me to submit" I said and dropped the paper gently. He checks the papers first and I wait patiently for his remarks because that's the proper etiquette.
"Okay, this was good. Remind your senior that we all need to go for team building this month and I'm expecting that the marketing team will do good just like the last time" He said and smiled. I nodded and bowed down then left the room.
I quickly tell it to the senior once I go down to our floor. She seems so excited and flustered by what Lawrence says. I don't know how their team building from last year went off but I'm going to do my best so that they could still get the honor.
I start to work and finish all the paperworks at the right time. It's my first time getting paid in this company so I'm excited and looking forward for the money. There's a lot of things I need to pay including the student loan that I am indebted to and the bills from my apartment.
I sighed when I calculated everything that I needed to pay. This wouldn't still be enough to save up for the fund that I need to open my own business but it was just my first month, I need to strive for more.
"Let's eat at a delicious place now as we had our monthly payment, yey!" The senior celebrates as our card with cash is being delivered to us.
"Are you going to treat us, Miss Lady-like?" One of my co-worker joked around. They all teased the senior because of that.
"Why? Aren't you also paid? You should be the one who would treat me specifically, Miss Heaven. You're the one who is earning a lot of money now" She teased me so my co-worker changed their target.
"Okay, it would be just for today," I said. I am not that bad at not being generous. That's fine for me to let go of some money to have fun as I'm not that killjoy.
We went out after our shift to a steakhouse nearby. We met the bosses including Lawrence the CEO so he invited us to be at the table to eat. I sat down far from him and just fixed my things. They talk.for a while while the steak is still not being served. He also added his order to get us and we were embarrassed because of that.
"Oh, Sir we were really just going to sit here because Miss Heaven, the one who's going to treat us, sat down so we're really sorry" Our senior said. I was embarrassed when I saw the executive stare at me.
"It's fine, I can treat you and I'm pleased to look after my employees" He said and smiled. I still look down in embarrassment.
His dad also went in to dine in with us so Lawrence added the order again. His dad kept staring at me while eating because he sat down in front of me. He also stares at Lawrence and smiles at him.
"Lawrence, my son, can you change your position and be here with me?" His dad asked so Lawrence and the executive who sat beside his dad exchanged their position. So I can now see Lawrence and meet his stares.
It just kept on adding the awkwardness that I'm feeling as I'm getting more conscious if I had dirt in my face. It was so intriguing what they were talking and laughing about as they stared at me after.
That awkward dinner ended. I want to get out as soon as possible and leave this place. And thank God that he didn't insist on taking us home. So as soon as I went into my apartment, I quickly snuggled on my bed and lay down.
I just woke up when I got a call from Alona. I quickly answered the phone as I felt that it was an emergency. She won't call me if it wasn't an emergency, she would text first to ask me if she could call.
"Alona, why? Why do you call?" I instantly ask once I answer the call. "Calm down, Heaven it's not an emergency but it's a shocking news that I don't know and I just know it when Teodore tells me" She responded.
"What's the shocking news that you had?" I asked. I don't know but my curiousity was peeking.
"I would go there to tell you so that I can express what I feel" She answered. She ended the call and texted me that she's already on her way. That must be really shocking news that she had.
I lay down again, not going to sleep because I'm going to wait for Alona to come. I still think about the possibility of that news. It's either news about my parents or anything. It must be about my parents because I don't think she would've shared it to me when it's about their relationship.
Hours passed on and I was stopping myself from the urge to sleep. Then there was a knock and when I opened it, she was smiling ear to ear which creeped me out. I let her enter before asking her what happened.
"So this is the news, we got justice one year ago because Antonio turned himself on the jail but we didn't even get news from it. He's serving in jail right now because someone file a case on him and he turn himself in right away" She explains.
I don't know what to feel honestly. I have a lot of thoughts and that thought is the possibility that that person who file a case against him was Lawrence. I felt joy and happiness that the justice was now served and I feel sorry because he had to against and fight his brother for that.
"I will sleep here for now, Heaven. We had a break and I also want to thank Lawrence for that, "she said. So I asked her if Lawrence was really that person who file a case and she said his apologies.
"I'm really sorry, my sister. Lawrence is that person and I'm shy to tell you that because you might don't want to talk about him anymore, "she explains.
We slept when tomorrow passed by. We go to the company together, I would also thank Lawrence as I don't know that he did that last year. I was always rude to him without knowing that I owe him my freedom. I have the right to speak rude to him as I still feel mad about how he didn't explain his side and I would immediately get his plans if he just explained it thoroughly.
"On the last floor, you would meet his office there. Tell the secretary that you are Miss Hintaña's sister and you had something to talk about" I tell her. She nodded in response and we both entered the elevator. I would just thank him after my shift.
But as soon as I got out of the elevator, I saw him sitting on my table wandering around it. I don't know what to say because I didn't prepare for it. I was mad and happy about that news. I want to thank him but also hit him. I want to do everything because I lost the friend that I've trusted and the man that I love just because of this.
I also got mad at him and loathed him but I also felt sorry for him. I just want to burst out from what I feel. He stared at me and all I could do was run to him while crying. Heaven also sobs with me as I heard the raindrops.
