Chapter 46 Forty Five
Natsumi
"Because I love you!"
How many times have I blinked in front of him, is what he says true?
All my life, no one dares to court me nor show their feelings on me because that I'm a cold person or whatever they want to call me. This is the first time that a stranger like Jenthrix shows his feelings on me. That someone like him would still say that he loves someone like me.
Why me? I'm a miserable person.
I wanted to speak but nothing came out of my mouth. What's happening to me?
I could see he was also surprised by what he said. Well, it's too late. He’s already said what he shouldn’t have told me.
"I don't let anyone hurt you Nami. Let me protect you. Let me prove to you that I'm worth it."
"Why?" only I could say.
How many times have I even mentioned that question in my mind and it kept coming out of my mouth.
We kept staring at each other. Not even speaking we could not. I just heard him sigh.
"I'll take you to the SC Room." and he went first.
When we got to the opposite side of the SC Room, he quickly said goodbye that he would go first because he was needed in the booth.
I just want to have a simple life but I know it will never happen. I let out a deep breath. I do not know what to do. Maybe I can run away again as I did before?
I tried to accept what was going on in my life, but here I was still looking for a way to break free from the life I was living. Stay away to move as much as I want. But all that is just a dream because, in this world, your actions are in line with what people want them to see in you.
After the first day of Sports Fest, I immediately left the University and went to a place that somehow helped me to think clearly.
I immediately got out of my car when I arrived at the place I had just been to again.
Archery Sanctuary.
"It's good to see you, Ms. Natsumi." The receptionist greeted me as soon as I entered.
"You have a new target dummy, well all our target dummy now are new. I'm pretty sure you'll like your return here," he said as he typed on his computer.
"Thank you, Jayce, everything ready?" I ask.
"Yes Miss, let me assist you." and he was the first to walk into the room where I would target shoot using archery.
He led the way to my room here in the Sanctuary. This place is one and a half hectare where you can do archery. This is also where the participants in the competitions that take place in the Philippines train. Even foreigners visit this place just to learn archery.
"Enjoy Miss Natsumi," he said.
"Thanks, and please don't let anyone disturb me."
"Affirmative Miss."
After Jayce left, I immediately went inside. Well, everything is set.
I changed into comfortable clothes, here I will pour everything I want to bring out. I immediately pressed the button for the dummy targets, I smiled to see them moving.
With each arrow that hits the dummy, it is my outburst of resentment.
First, for the life of mine that I can’t handle because of the decision my parents make.
Can’t they give me the freedom I want? Why do I need to suffer? Don't they love me? So are they doing it for my good? Don’t they know that I will be miserable when they pursue the marriage they want?
And the latter is how I feel about Jenthrix. Yes, I know in myself I love him but it’s still wrong. Because I knew no matter how hard I tried to refuse the marriage my Grandfather wanted, I could do nothing.
I try to kill what I feel for him but my heart tries to beat for him. Because of him so I struggle to fight for the freedom I want.
It was dark when I decided to go home. Fortunately, I always carry extra clothes today. This is the effect of Jenthrix's cold blessing on me. That anytime I might receive a blessing again so I bring extra clothes.
Few minutes have passed since I got in the car, but I still haven't turned on the engine. I don’t know where I’m going.
If I go home to the mansion, I’m sure I’ll see my parents. I haven't been able to face them yet.
And I'm sure my cousins are waiting for me at the Cafe because that's the only place they know I'm going except for the bar owned by Zeke.
Eventually, I just went straight to my unit. But it looks like I shouldn't just go home.
"Where have you been Hime?"
"We've been looking for you the whole time."
I raised an eyebrow as my cousins spoke at the same time.
"I know the next thing you're going to say 'They're looking for you. We don't know what to say. They've been asking us the whole time. They need to talk to you. Where did you go and you didn't even say your whereabouts.' Isn't it? I already know what you're going to say. " I said while mimicking their voices.
I opened the door and left them stunned because I had imitated them.
Maybe I should just go home to the rest house, no one will know that I'm there. I'm the only one who knows that.
I quickly cleaned my body to change because I was sure that my cousins would follow me here to the room to ask. When I opened the door, I saw them waiting for me.
I just passed them and went straight to the kitchen to cook dinner. I can hear their questions up here. Fears to be rebuked.
I took out the red velvet cake I made, I also took out a saucer and fork for them. After that, I resumed cooking.
"Hime, you can't get us through this."
"You're just avoiding our questions."
"Really? Why is the cake cut? Denials." I said that stopped them from eating the cake.
"Hime, please? Tell us where have you been?" KC's plea.
"Archery." my short answer.
When I finished cooking, I set up the dining table. I heard no answer from the two of them.
I stopped in my tracks when KC suddenly grabbed my hand. And what he said melted the ice that enveloped my heart.
