Chapter 10

Chapter 10
I looked away immediately from him as I made my way towards the seat that was unfortunately located beside Rizer's. For some reason, I felt like there's something—something was off of him. By how his mischievous eyes was dark, it was clear as a blue sky like he wasn't amused. He wasn't amused of me. And I don't know why he's like that. In some point, I felt like I've disappointed him.
Which was something so annoying in my part and frustrating. So what if he wasn't amused? I don't like him. I hate him. And I'll never ever consider him as a friend. And I don't give a damn to whatever he feel towards me.
“Where have you been?” I heard him whispering right next to my ear. His voice was low like it was as though he's refraining himself.
It game me goosebumps. I cranked my head and glared at the mothefuc*er. He was staring darkly at me. I rose a brow. "That is none of your business so fu*k off.” I rolled my eyes.
"You did not attend class earlier," he stated.
"And so what? Does it matter to you now?"
He pursed his lips.
I scoffed. "That's it. So shut up."
He glared.
As if I give a damn.
The teacher went inside the class and started his job. I opened my bag and pulled out some notebook my sister had gave me. She'd learned I have no school supplies so she ordered for me through online. But of course, I paid them. My sister won't pay for it I could bet my life.
"Why didn't you attended the morning class?" Rizer asked. He wasn't going to get this slip I guess.
"Shut up."
"Why?" He's persistent!
I took a deep breath.
"Because I escaped class," I said. I made sure to emphasized the sarcasm within my voice.
"Why did you escaped class?"
"Because I felt like it."
"Why did you felt like—"
"Just because!" I yelled, standing up and looking down at him sharply.
Füçk, I'm going insane because of him!
He rose a brow as he smirked. I hate him! I füçkîng hate him! I wanted to strangle him to death and smashed that face of his.
"What's the matter, Mr. Styles?" Our teacher asked, snapping me out of my trance. I gritted my teeth and forced a smile as I turned my head towards the front of the room.
"Nothing, sir."
I sat down on my chair and took a very deep sigh. I heard him chuckling a bit beside me. I wanted to kill him so badly. God forbid.
When the class ends, I was already itching to punch him but I stopped myself as I remembered the consequences if I did. Instead, I just gave him a sharp glare.
I stood up and hang my bag on my shoulder as I walked towards the locker area. He trailed after me and opened his locker as well. I could smell his manly scent as we are this close to each other. I thought I was going to be greeted with his freaking pranks the moment I have opened up my locker but I was surprised instead when there was none.
I snapped my head at him questioningly. He mirrored my expression. I rolled my eyes and shrugged as I gently closed my locker.
"Don't you have any practice this afternoon?" I asked as I remembered that he's also an athlete.
"No," he replied. "Next week maybe the start of our practice."
I shrugged.
"What do we do today?"
"As usual. Clean..." he said with an annoyed sigh. I guess we don't really like this situation were in to right now. And who would be happy, right? Sane people wouldn't like this crap.
I sighed and we walked towards the soccer field. We pulled some of the materials we'll be needing and started to do the task. It took as an hour before we finished.
When I got home, I found my parents sitting on the lounge chair. Dad's arms was hanging on my mother's shoulder as they watched movies together in the living room. I greeted my dad and kisses my mom's cheek. I went straight ahead to my room and slumped down on the soft mattress of my bed. 30 minutes of lying there quietly and thinking nothing, I've decided to take a bath and went downstairs.
“Mom...” I called as I sat between them. Dad glared at me and I just smiled innocently. I hugged his wife.
“Yes, my sweet boy?” she asked and brushed my hair through her fingers. I sighed in content and closed my eyes.
“Tired, mommy...” I said and rested my head on her shoulder.
“You're stealing your mother away from me, young man!” Dad couldn't stop himself. He's jealous again because mom loves me more. I turned to him and stuck out my tongue. Mom laughed softly.
“Hi, family!” Missi's voice rang around. She smiled sweetly and ran to us with her open arms. She sat on my lap and hug us all with her slender body.
“Ugh! You're stinky!” I said, grimacing. She's really not stinky, I just don't like being this intimate with my family. Well, aside from my mother. I don't like hugs and kisses. I grew up with my grandmother around and only her I'm comfortable with. Mom and Dad was so busy when I was a kid and they could not afford to have me with them. On the other hand, my sister, Missi, grew up with them. I'm not mad at it or even complaining because I got to meet and knew my grandmother before she passed away because my parents had left me with her. I just don't understand why did they had to leave me when I am just a year older than Missi. They could afford hiring a babysitter or a housemaid, sure. But why didn't they, right? None the less, I didn't talk about it. I understand... somehow.
“Mom." I suddenly remembered Siria and her situation right now. I blinked my eyes and straitened my back as I promised to talk with my parents about it.
My mom turned to me and her brows shot up. “Yes?”
I cleared my throat. “I have something to tell you...” I said with all seriousness in my voice.
It's so rare to see me this serious. I barely even recognize my own voice. My family looked at me and I grew nervous all of a sudden. What would be their reaction if I'll tell them I found a student last day and decided to have her live with us? Sure, my parents are kind. But it's a different story this time. They'd probably think I'm insane. Well, yeah. I really am insane sometimes.
“Go ahead, son,” dad encouraged and patted my head. So I told them about Siria and her situation. They were shocked when I told them that she's already an orphan and she's 17 but living with herself alone. They felt bad for her and they quickly agreed of meeting her soon.
I smiled.
We watched movies together while we ate popcorns and juice. My dad was on the farthest side of the long sofa while mom was beside him, resting her head on his shoulder. My sister was lying on the sofa, her head was on mom's lap. While I, I sat on the single sofa. We are watching some Netflix Series.
This night is so wonderful.

It's another day of school again. It means it's another day of shit meeting with Rizer. It's still early in the morning when I got there due to early practice of basketball. Our coach has arrived. After the warm ups and practice, I entered the class fresh after I took a bath.
“Morning!” Trisha smiled at me.
I smiled back at her softly. “Good morning, angel.”
Her one brow arched. She pursed her lips into a thin line. “Have you forgotten my name?”
I laughed. “No, Trisha.”
She nodded and laughed softly. We exchanged greetings and we talked about random stuff till the teacher arrived and started her class. It's friday today and the last day of school days this week so the teachers gave us a lot of school works as an assignment. Trisha and I were partners in chemistry and we planned to meet tomorrow at some coffee shop outside this school.
I was in a good mood the whole day but when the ring bells in the afternoon, the mood turned upside down. I almost forgot I have to deal with the jerk of a Rutherford this afternoon.
“Hey! I've been waiting for you for ages now!” that was how he welcomed me.
I glared at him as I kicked his leg. He groaned and I walked past him. I suddenly jumped when he slapped my butt.
My eyes widened as my cheeks burned.
What the...
Rizer laughed happily and ran past me. I rolled my eyes and pouted. I walked in a slow pace as I picked up some trash on the ground. There's a lot of garbages since it's Friday and students came here earlier to have a group study or just simply hang outs. There's also some left book that they had probably left. I took it and kept it. I'll just return it to the library and lost and found box so that they would just have to see it there. I am not that heartless to just ignore it because these are probably important.
“Hey, I'm going to the canteen to buy drink! Wanna have?” Rizer shouted, wiping his sweat through his shirt.
“A bottle of cold water, please!” I said, breathing heavily. It's really hot in the afternoon and I'm sweating badly. I think I'm gonna die. Kidding.
“Okay!!” he yelled and I watched him ran away. He was already shirtless. I shook my head and averted my gaze away from him.
Not long after, he went back with two bottle of cold water and two pack of sandwich. He handed it to me and I took it, murmuring my thanks. I'm kind of shy to accept it but since I'm hungry, I swallowed my pride.
“You have to pay me,” he said as he raised a brow.
“I've already expected that.” I rolled my eyes and took out a dollar inside my pocket and throw it at him. He cursed as the wind flew it. Fortunately of him, it wasn't too far when it landed.
“You could've handed it to me, yah know?!” he yelled and glowered me. I stuck out my tongue.
I sat on the ground crisscrossed as I chew my food, looking up the sky as I did. The sun was starting to set and the birds above was singing happily. I could also see airplanes in the sky.
I felt Rizer sat beside me. I also felt him looking at me. But I couldn't care less. I lifted my and took a bite of the sandwich. It's a grilled cheese sandwich.
“Do you like it?” he asked.
“Hmm,” I replied and sighed, feeling sleepy all of a sudden. I haven't gotten a better sleep last night 'cause aside from we have a late night movie, I was also thinking about Siria. For some reason, she can't just seem to leave my head. I don't know why...
I am not infatuated or anything. I can't imagine myself dating her or even considering it. I just... feel something about with her. I am deeply concerned and worried in some point I can't put a finger on.
It feels like... different.
“What are you thinking?” Rizer asked again.
“Girls,” I replied sarcastically. I was kind of shocked when he went silent all of a sudden. I turned to him questioningly. He was also looking at the sky. His brows was creased like as if he was in a deep thought. Now it was my turn to ask. “What are you thinking?”
The corner of his lips rose up in a sarcastic smirk. He replied, “Boys.”
