Remembering The Past
Jean saw Gio approaching them.
“I have to leave. Gio is coming to us.”
“Dad, who are you talking to? Wasn’t she the woman before in the presence of uncle Ramon?”
“Ah! Yes, I asked who she was, so I followed her earlier. No matter how hard I try, she didn’t speak. ”
“Oh! Is that so?! Let her go. Maybe that old friend of uncle Ramon’s let’s go in.”
~~~~~
The next day was Ramon’s funeral. Everyone is grieving, especially Dominic. He is always silent and can’t talk anymore. Kyla and his other co-workers are supporting him.
After the priest prayed, he was buried. Dominic’s crying was quiet because maybe he was exhausted after a few days of crying. Kyla was worried about why Dominic didn’t want to let out a cry. It would be better for him to let it out than for his chest.
Kyla touched Dominic’s back, “Are you okay Dominic? I was worried about why you didn’t release the pain you were feeling. Just cry because it’s only natural. Don’t hide it because it’s harder.”
Dominic could hold her waist. “I’m okay Kyla, let me know first if this is my reaction. Don’t worry about me anymore because I can do it. I won’t do anything bad to ruin my life because Dad is gone. Life must go on, Kyla. So thank you, and you are always by my side.”
Kyla looked at Dominic. “Thank you, Dominic, just remember that I’m just here for you.”
People went home, only a few left in the memorial garden.
Gilbert approached Roel.
“Mr. Reyes, can we talk?”
“Okay Mr. Tan, there we are.”
“What happened to you, Roel? Why did you fight me? Have you forgotten that you came from me and you cannot get where you are if you do not disobey me?”
“You are right, Mr. Tan, but I do not regret that I left you because I can no longer resent your wickedness. You know I know your secret. I can let you out if I want, but maybe it’s not time yet.”
“You are a bastard Roel, just try to reveal my secret and destroy my reputation. I will not hesitate to involve your family.” Gilbert said angrily.
“Say what you want to say because you can’t find my family. I’m not afraid of you anymore, Gilbert Tan, because we’re on the same level. Maybe then I was just your slave but now I will not lose to you.” Roel answered boldly.
“Let’s see Mr. Reyes, because you haven’t seen the real me yet. You will also know my revenge.”
“All right, let’s go first, Mr. Tan, who will be the first to give up on the two of us. Everything I went through, I regret that when I met someone who changed my life, I realized I had done a lot of wrongs before. I lost my wife and my child. Because of you, I couldn’t take care of my family because I put you first, but your plan was bad.”
“You should have just done that. You received a large amount, isn’t it for your family so you can work?”
“You are right, but not in a bad way. You even sympathized with me for your plan to kill your ex-girlfriend. You don’t have a heart.”
“Shut up. I don’t want to go back to what happened.”
“Why Mr. Tan? Do you feel guilty because you want to kill your child too? You are a worthless father.” Roel said emphatically.
Their conversation only stopped when Robin approached Gilbert.
“Oh! Dad, you’re just here. Mom is looking for you.”
“How are you, Robin? I heard that Mr. Tan is your real father.”
“Whatever news you heard, you are no longer there. This is a problem for our family, so don’t interfere.” Gilbert replied.
“Oh! I’m sorry, you’re too defensive. I’m just asking.”
“That’s enough, Mr. Reyes. Whatever you hear, we don’t have to explain. It’s up to the people whether they believe it. We are leaving.” Said, Robin.
Naneth and Kyla have returned home with Kyla’s mother and her brother.
They were tired, so they rested first. Kyla’s mother noticed that Naneth’s stomach was growing.
“Naneth?! Are you pregnant?”
“Yes auntie, it’s been six months.”
“Oh! Congrats, who’s the father? What gender is the child?”
Naneth was silent for a moment.
“Ah! My child is a boy. I don’t know where his father is.”
“Ha?! You mean, you don’t know that boy’s father. How did that happen?”
“Ah! I was drunk because we had a problem with my ex-husband. That’s why I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.”
“Oh! I hope the father of the child will feel sorry for the man who doesn’t recognize his father.”
“Mom, no worries. When it arrives, boss Gio will answer the child!” Kyla shouted.
“What was your boss’s answer?”
“Our boss is going to marry her. I don’t even know what potion Naneth gave to boss Gio why she is excited to adopt the child.”
“I think Kyla is terrible. She’s still excited to talk to her mom,” Naneth replied.
“Haha! Sorry friend, you know this is your friend. It’s good to miss,” Kyla said with a smile.
“Ay! That’s how it is. So there is no problem, Naneth, someone will share with your child. Grab it, you know if Gio will be a good father. By the way, who is Gio’s father?”
“Ah! Mr. Roel Reyes, he is the CEO of our company.”
“Oh! Roel Reyes? That name sounds familiar to me. Why do you have the same last name as Mr. Reyes?”
“I didn’t even know we might just have children.”
Cecilia remembers something…
“Cecilia, let me introduce you to my classmate, Roel Reyes. He became my friend in our section.”
“Oh! Nice to meet you, Roel. Are you a transferee? Why do I only see you on campus now?”
“Yes, I’m a transferee. I’ll be here on this campus for about two weeks.”
“Oh! Is that so? It’s good that you just enjoy being a student.” Cecilia replied.
“Hey! Mom, are you okay? You are stunned again.”
“Kyla, I remember her. She was Ramon’s best friend on our campus. He is a transferee, so I don’t see him much on our campus.”
“Oh! What a coincidence. Why didn’t he meet you in the presence of uncle Ramon?
“I don’t know, we didn’t see each other and maybe he forgot me,” Cecilia replied.
“Oh! Maybe I saw it last night when you were talking to Mr. Gilbert Tan. Will you meet?”
“Yes, he is my classmate, and Ramon is my schoolmate.”
“Oh! Really?”
“Ramon wants Jean to be my sister. He asked me to help him in case I didn’t help him because I was jealous because I wanted something from him.” Cecilia’s story.
“Oh! That’s so strange, auntie.”
“Really mom?! Why don’t I know that?” Kyla asked.
“I’m sorry, Kyla, it’s been a while, and it’s not important anymore.”
“So! What did sir Ramon say?”
“He asked his brother Gilbert to approach Jean, but sadly, Gilbert pursued my brother and he betrayed his brother.”
“Oh! Sir Gilbert is a bad man.”
“You’re right Naneth!” Kyla agreed.
“Ramon caught them kissing, so Ramon was very hurt. I comfort him.”
“Oh! But why not Mr. Tan? Did you marry auntie Cecilia?”
Cecilia was silent. “I didn’t stay with Ramon because they transferred to another school with Gilbert and their parents sent them to school in America. That was the last time we talked. That’s why Gilbert is excited to see me in case Ramon just died without us meeting.” Cecilia said sadly.
“Oh! I’m sorry to hear that, auntie. You should have talked before if we only knew that you and sir Ramon would meet.”
“It’s OK! That way, in life, we can’t say how long we will be in this world, no matter how careful we are.” Cecilia replied.
“At least you have a point there, auntie. The important thing is that you saw him at his last death.”
“Mom, I’m wondering. What happened to the love story between Auntie Jean and Gilbert Tan?”
“I don’t know the full details, Kyla, because your auntie and I were separated for a few months when I met Rodney, your father, at my place of work. She joined a company as a secretary. She mentioned to me she was with the Tan Holdings company.” Cecilia’s story.
“Wait! You mean, after studying with Mr. Tan in America because they came home here and set up a company and auntie Jean and Gilbert Tan still had communication?”
“I’m sure, Kyla, I’m already busy with my life with you and my family. I remember she came home to us one time. You were small, then maybe you were about five to six years old with a big belly. I feel like she’s pregnant now.”
“Ha?! So, you mean auntie Jean has a child? Where is her son now? I have already investigated her but I can’t find any solid evidence and they don’t want to open the cremation of her body. Is it possible that there is a deeper reason, right mom?”
“I’m sure Kyla, I’m surprised too. Because we are an immediate family, we should be there to cremate her body if she is dead.” The answer of her mother.
“Oh! The news I heard was terrible. Maybe your auntie Kyla is still alive.” Naneth said.
“Hopefully Naneth! But the question is where is she now, where is her son?” said Kyla.
“Yes! Wait, I remember something. You remember we were in the basement in the parking lot? Anthon is your ex-boyfriend. He said something that he would not hurt you, but he wanted to talk to you because he had something important to tell you.”
“Yes, Naneth, I remember that too. Do you think Anthon knows where my auntie is now?”
“Maybe he knows something. What if you call him?”
“But I don’t want to talk to him anymore because I’m already traumatized by him.”
“Kyla and Naneth are just like that. Try calling Anthon, Naneth. Talk to him. You want to meet him? If he agrees, the three of us will meet with him.” Cecilia’s suggestion.
“Don’t you think it’s dangerous for us to do that?”
“We have to gamble Naneth so that we can get justice in a few years and we will know who is behind everything.”
“You’re right mom, I will not allow auntie not to get justice and we will look for her son,” Kyla replied.
